Folsom Prison Blues

Blaring white fluorescent lighting bathes the room before me in an unnatural tone, making the greys of the room seem somehow greyer. The table I'm sitting at is reminiscent of the large craft tables they used to have in my elementary school with the fake vinyl wood grain top. The only sound of the room is a ticking clock above the door and I would bet every dollar I own that they keep this room too cold on purpose. I'm freezing.

After sitting in an uncomfortable chair for what seems like hours, wondering if there was anyone watching me behind that cliche two-way mirror in the room, the door opens, pulling my attention to Naomi and another older man in a suit who is entering the room.

Last night, after Naomi had flashed me her badge, she made it abundantly clear that I was to return to the party as though nothing was wrong and continue with the rest of my night the same way. I was to say absolutely nothing to Kaden or any of my friends about who she was, either.
