Silver horse, Orbs

Silver horse, Orbs

I was already on my way out of the martial arts hall after deciding to go monster hunting when I stopped and opened my system inventory and went to my unreceived rewards.

[Inventory: Weapon manual{S}, Thanbos Diary{???}, *5 White Gold Coins, *20 Diamond Coins...],

[Rewards: Ancient grade cultivation manual???, Magic Grimoire{S}, Intermediate MagicTech{SS}, Shadow Blade{A}] ,

These are the Epic Mission rewards that I have yet to receive.

I'd like to receive the Ancient grade cultivation manual{???}, the Magic Grimoire{S}, and the Intermediate Knowledge of MagicTech{SS} after I've started college.

So, for the time being, the only reward I can receive is the Shadow Blade{A}, which is why I opened my inventory in the first place.

I can't go hunting unless I have a proper weapon, can I?

[Shadow Blade{A}],

[Receive reward?],

I gave the system the go-ahead without hesitation, and immediately after, a black scabbard with a blade in it appeared in front of me, hovering above the ground.

I brought the blade out slowly, holding the hilt of the purple-colored blade in my right hand and the scabbard in my left.

Unlike Callan's silver sword, my blade was black all around, with tiny vein-like purple lines running from the tip of the sword to the hilt and a purple crystal in the pommel, giving it a mythical appearance.

And its appearance was identical to a Backsword.

I checked the blade's information using the Analyze skill;

[Shadow Blade{A}],

Made from the skin of a royal beast grade beast, mixed with other precious rare materials and the blood of a royal beast grade purple bloodsucking demon to create an A grade weapon that is already on the verge of awakening a weapon spirit, making its actual grade a Pseudo S grade weapon.

….

Has the ability to grow by consuming blood essence.

….

I'd be lying if I said I understood the first part of the description.

Royal beast grade? Purple bloodsucking demon? Weapon Spirit?

The only part I was barely able to comprehend was the one about the blood essence, which the weapon manual listed as one of the ingredients required to forge a bond with a weapon that would allow it to progress along with you.

You cannot, however, make a pact with every weapon.

But you can definitely make a pact with Shadow Blade.

'Hmmm, since you'll be with me for a long time, I'll name you Shadow,' I thought.

After getting a feel of shadow by waving it around for a while, I returned it to my inventory and exited the martial arts hall.

.....

I was once again in the wilderness after sprinting out of the empty city.

Without stopping, I infused mana into my legs to increase my speed and sped off deeper into the wilderness until I was surrounded by massive ancient trees and was a little lost, but none of that mattered at the moment.

Fortunately or unfortunately, I did not come across any monsters on my way here.

But I knew I was deep into the wilderness or forest at this point, so I was cautious and aware of my surroundings to avoid any unpleasant surprises.

As I moved forward slowly, I took Shadow from my inventory and held it in my right hand, observing my surroundings.

I still didn't see any monsters after a while of sneaking around.

I was about to relax my guard when I heard what sounded like neighs behind me.

Without needing to think, I used 'Blink' to appear on a tree tall enough to hide from the monster and observe it at the same time.

After waiting for a few seconds, the monster finally arrived.

Seeing this, I lowered my presence so I could not get noticed quickly and observed the monster.

With oval-shaped hooves, long tails, short hair, long slender leg, muscular and deep torso build, long thick neck, and large elongated head, what appears to be a horse but silver in color appeared.

There were two of them from the same species, a miscalculation on my part since I thought it was only a single monster.

And judging from their level which is level 33, they'll find me soon.

Without further hesitation, I gripped my sword firmly in both hands, infused mana into my legs, and dashed, appearing directly in front of one of the silver horses and slashed, aiming at its neck, while the other silver horse was at my back.

But before I could even hit the silver horse with my sword, let alone kill it, it vanished or rather dodged fast enough for my sword to miss it and strike the ground, causing several cracks.

Despite being stunned, I did not lower my guard, allowing me to notice the attack directed at me by the silver house behind me.

Using 'Blink,' I was able to escape the attack and reappear from the shadow of a nearby tree.

After that, I did not attack again, but instead carefully observed my opponents as they did the same.

'How did it dodge my attack so fast?' I wondered.

My physical body alone is capable of dealing with ordinary level 35 monsters without the use of aura or anything else, so it's perplexing that a level 33 monster was able to avoid my attack.

I would have liked to stay here for a while and just observe the monsters to satisfy my curiosity, but my opponents were not feeling the same way and rushed toward me.

Not wanting to be outdone, I dashed toward them and threw my sword at the two monsters.

When they saw the approaching sword, they both ran sideways to allow the sword to pass through their middle.

This would have been an excellent plan that would have impacted someone else, but I am not that someone else.

Before they could run sideways to the other side to avoid the incoming sword, I used 'Verto' to swap positions with the silver horse on my right side, and then I appeared beside the other silver horse, my thrown sword appearing just in time.

Grabbing the hilt of my sword in mid-air, I slashed the silver monster's neck, taking advantage of the fact that it was still stunned and confused by my appearance beside it, cutting off its head and removing any sign of life in its body.

I used "Blink" and emerged from the shadow of the other silver house, which I had used "Verto" on, and switched positions with, without glancing at the now-dead opponent. However, it appears that the monster fled after it saw how I killed its companion.

Not wanting to let my opponent escape, I added Dark ki to my sword and slashed the air in the direction of the running monster, sending out a curved shaped long range attack made of Dark ki that was able to catch up with the monster, cutting its body in half and killing it in the process.

I was about to take a breath when I noticed a white light appear and disappear from the bodies of the dead monsters, leaving some strange colored orbs and materials by their sides.
