Chapter 12 Embarrassed

Andrew couldn't believe this witch, she was literally creating trouble for them, here he was trying to assure Mia that Jane won't create any trouble for them and this Witch is literally asking for trouble. He saw Mia's mouth was wide open from shock.

Jane kept crying loudly, as one of the guard's approached her, Andrew saw as the guard kneel down on one knee in front of Jane, as he tried to make her stop crying.

The guard looked towards Mia and Andrew, making Andrew a bit tense, he was ready if they were going to attack them.

Andrew felt a hand hold his arm tightly, he looked at his arm, he saw Mia holding his arm firmly as she kept looking towards Jane and the guard.

Andrew felt a presence in front of him, "Are you the father of that little girl" he heard the guard who was talking to Jane, standing in front of him, as he asked this question. The guard's voice was so strong that he could feel Mia shiver beside him.

From the corner of his eye Andrew saw Jane giving him a signal to nod his head, as if she wanted him to say that he was her father.

"y-yes I'm her father" Andrew choked on his words, the guard looked a bit suspicious at his answer but nodded his head.

"And you are her Mother" guard turned towards Mia as she became still because of his question.

Andrew gave Mia's hand a squeeze making her relaxed a bit, she answered "Yes I'm her mom" smiling a bit. Andrew was a bit stunned, she looked more confident then him while answering the guard's question.

Andrew saw Jane coming their way, she looked at the guard with her puppy eyes and said

"Can you let us enter Slanthar woods, we don't have anywhere else to go" Andrew was a bit shocked at Jane's acting, she was pretty good at fooling people.

"I don't think I can do that" the guard answered softly to her "But we really need a place to stay for tonight, and look the sun is already setting" Andrew pleaded hoping the guard understands their situation.

"Yeah and look my daughter is also very tired, please let us enter" Mia said as she went towards Jane and hugged her, Andrew was watching all the drama, this girls are so good at this he thought.

Andrew saw as the guard sighed looking at the girls, he went towards the other guards as they talked about something, he came back and said "You people can enter, but you have to stay at one of the place where we keep those who are not our kind or the outcast" Andrew didn't like the idea, but when he saw Mia and Jane had smile on their faces,

He sighed and nodded his head making their way in Slanthar woods.

"Do I look like your father" Andrew was a bit pissed at Jane for doing something like this,

"No you don't, but this was the only way to get here" Jane looked at Andrew feeling a bit embarrassed on her own act.

"Let it go now Andrew, she helped us so please don't get angry" Mia requested

Andrew sighed, he knew he couldn't win against them, from the corner of his eye, he saw both of them had big smiles on their faces, making him roll his eyes.

Andrew sat on the wooden bed, they were given a small room enough for two people and a child, it had two wooden beds on each side and the walls were surprisingly not grey they were brown in colour, and a small dining table was there for them.

"I'm hungry" Jane said looking at Andrew, "Don't you know there are timing for every meal, we get here" Andrew stated making Jane feel sad.

"Here you can have this till then" Mia said passing Jane a pack a cookies.

Jane took them happily with a thank you, Mia smiled looking at her lovingly.

"I'm going out for a bit" Andrew made his out making the other two stunned, he took a deep breath as he came out of the room, he was not sure what to feel in this situation.

It felt like everything happened in a blink of an eye, Mia's arrival in his life, he was now trying to find his mother, he hated to call her his mother, that woman took the life of his father, the only person who loved him truly.

It was a fact that he was helping Mia so he can find that witch and take his revenge, but he sincerely wanted to help Mia.

" What happened" Andrew heard Mia as she approached him, "Nothing, I just wanted a bit of fresh air" he answered, they were quite for some time,

"The view from here is pretty good" Mia said breaking the silence, Andrew nodded agreeing to her words, they could see the whole town from their third floor balcony, he really didn't expect that the guard would give them such a nice room to stay.

"Don't get angry on Jane, even if she is a witch, she is in a child's body that's why she behaves like that some time" Mia broke Andrew's chain of thoughts as he turned towards her and for the first time observed her face, she had big eyes, and her big eyelashes complimented them, her small face made her look cute.

He turned his face away from her and just nodded his head. " Don't you know how to answer people or you just don't know how to talk" Mia said in a sarcastic way, as a smile formed on Andrew's face,

"What if I say I don't like to talk to you" Andrew said in a teasing tone, making Mia opened her mouth to answer him but didn't say anything and was about to leave, Andrew took a hold of her wrist making her stop from leaving "Okay sorry, I was teasing you" Mia glared at him playfully but ended up smiling.

Three of them had their dinner and were getting ready to sleep,

" should I call you father or dad or papa, what you prefer" Jane asked in a playful manner, Andrew didn't like any of it but he knew this was the only way they could stay here,

"Anything that sounds more natural" he answered a bit irritated, he saw Jane and Mia gave each other a look and had a smirk on their face.

Andrew saw as both of them took a pillow each and went towards him, they were standing in front of him making Andrew feel confused " What?" he asked, "Pillow fight" both of them shouted loudly as they started hitting Andrew with the pillow in their hands.

"Stop" Andrew shouted helplessly as the girls kept hitting him without showing any mercy, he knew they won't leave him, so he took one of the pillows that was beside him and started attacking both of them.

The room was filled with their laughter, after a while they were tired and went to their beds, Mia and Jane were sharing the bed and Andrew went to his bed, he never had so much fun with someone else beside Aiden, he was missing Aiden a bit and decided to call him in the morning.

Hoping that tomorrow he finds the orange rose he fell asleep.
