Chapter 26 She has to die

"Why didn't you just kill her Kate" a woman wearing a black maxi dress spoke, her dark black orbs looking at Kate with a stern look, making her shiver under her gaze.

"I gave her a warning, I thought she will get scared and won't try to break the curse" Kate answered.

"But that did not work" the woman shouted, "She has to die..". The woman kept muttering to herself. Kate could see a bit of fear in her eyes.

Kate looked at her with a glare, Kate could not say anything to her, she was under the woman's debt for saving her life. "I will do something, don't worry", Kate told her. "I want you to just kill her, nothing else".

"And why did you kidnap that fox", the woman asked, making Kate gulp in fear, she should not know anything. "I just wanted my revenge" Kate answered hoping she does not sound suspicious.

"Do you want me to get in trouble, what were you thinking" The lady shouted glaring at her. "Don't worry, I will do what you want" Kate said, hurriedly making her way out of the dark cave.

"Stop" Kate stopped, when she heard the woman's voice. "Remember you are alive because of me, don't try to do anything, which will make me regret my decision" The woman said, warning Kate.

"I won't make you regret Layla", Kate said with a sigh, she knew what she had to do.

"Please, grandma we are too young to die!" Mia shouted running away from her grandma who was ready to beat the shit out of them.

While Mia and Andrew ran inside Mia's apartment, Aiden and Jane ran towards the car, a much more safer place then Mia's apartment. "Do you think, they are fine" Jane asked, breathing heavily, because of all the running.

"I don't know, just hope Mia's mother and grandma doesn't kill my friend with Mia", Aiden chuckled.

"Do you think, we should go there, to help them?" Jane asked worriedly. After a bit of silence

they both said "No".

Both of them busted in laughter, "Now I understand, why Mia is so scared of her mom and grandma" Jane said, Aiden nodded agreeing with her.

Jane glanced at Aiden, she wanted to ask him but was not sure how he will react.

"Do you want to ask something?" Aiden asked as he leaned on his car, Jane looked at him in shock, "How did you know I wanted to ask you something?".

"You were staring at me like, I have to ask you something but I don't know how to ask you". Aiden said mimicking her voice, the way she speaks in the kids body.

"Hey!" Jane said getting offended, Aiden laughed at her.

"How long you think you can hide… your secret from Andrew?" Jane suddenly asked making Aiden widen his eyes in shock.

"W-What secret?" Aiden shuttered, he was dumfounded by Jane's question. "That you are his mother's creation".

"W-Who told you this?" Aiden asked, he thought maybe it was either, Akira or that nosy witch Sofia.

"No one told me, I saw you in Slanthar woods following us and….", Jane glanced at Aiden "I also saw you talking to Ryoko after Andrew's fight with that dog".

"But…how did you know, even Andrew couldn't sense me", Aiden asked.

Jane had a offended look on her face "So you want to say that, I'm not a strong witch?".

"I did not mean it like that" Aiden said, he did not want Jane to misunderstand him.

"Andrew is very strong, but he still has a lot to learn", Jane grinned "And I was born as a witch, do you get it now".

Aiden sighed, and nodded his head he did not understand how to answer Jane's question, he sighed "Please, don't tell anyone about this".

Jane nodded, she could hear the fear in Aiden voice, the fear of losing a dear friend, she knew that very well, going through the pain of losing one and only friend can be painful.

"Don't worry, I will not tell anyone about this" Jane said.

There was complete silence for a bit, "For now let's hope both of them are safe" Aiden said making Jane laugh. 'She has a beautiful laugh' Aiden thought.

When he realised that he was staring at her, he turned his face away from her, 'what the hell I'm doing' he thought.

"We should go and check if they are fine" Jane said, worried for her friend, but she was even scared of her mom and grandma, "I think you are right, let's go" Aiden said, both of them made their way towards Mia's apartment.

"Let's hope, we don't get in trouble" Aiden whispered, standing in front of door ready to enter.

"Don't worry, my friend I'm coming", Aiden said.
