Holding Her Ground in Court

Tia clenched her fists, her voice breaking the silence as she began her cross-examination.

"Stop lying, Mr. Hammer," she demanded, her eyes burning with frustration. Jack, lounging arrogantly in the witness stand, let out a short laugh, almost mocking in its tone.

"Oh? Lying, you say?" he replied, smirking. "Everything I've said IS the truth. Or are YOU telling me I'm not allowed to speak the truth in this courtroom?" His words were laced with false innocence, making Tia's anger rise further.

Before Tia could retort, Prosecutor Fritz calmly stood from his seat. "Miss Tia," he began, maintaining a neutral, professional tone, "it is understandable that you may not be familiar with the procedures of the court. However," he turned his gaze toward Jack, "Mr. Hammer, as the plaintiff, you are also expected to give a full and accurate account of events—not a biased recount solely aimed at attacking the defendant."
