Confronting the Knight Captain (Part 3)

"Sir Eric, I will get to the point. Why did you neglect the most recent incident?"

"What… what incident?" the middle-aged knight asked, acting half-witted. "I received no reports of such."

Enraged, Evans grunted, Aira and Alnom squinted their eyes. My metal fists clenched reflectively for a moment. The knight captain looked away from this tragic incident that took a life of an innocent that was his own citizen. We all feel the same—disgusted. But we knew there was something huge behind it all.

I already expected he would answer like that but listening to it directly set my soul burning in fury. Yet, I reclaimed my cool. At this situation, anger would only cloud my mind which would result in a poor decision-making. Sir Eric was obviously lying, so I simply needed to break apart that ignorant mask of his with hard cold evidence.

"I'm afraid to say that's a big fat lie."

"W-What? I beg your pardon?"
