The Admiral dismissed the camera after informing the ship of the events that will transpire. He wanted everyone battle ready before they arrived to their destination. Once he was done with his accountment the Admiral took his seat in the center of the Command Deck.
"Now that, that is taken care of. Tyler I would like for you to explain to myself, and those in the Command Deck, what we will have to deal with." Once he was finished speaking everyone turned towards the opening. NCO Keda had returned. She too had watched the transmission, although she didn't remain still. She had watched it as she sprinted back to the Command Deck. She took her place by the Admirals side and stood at attention.
Tyler awkwardly smiled. "Well first. Would it be possible to get a change of clothes?" He tugged at orange prison uniform. The Admiral lightly smiled before giving a command through his communicator to bring him some clothes. Tyler thanked him and then began speaking about his plan.
"To briefly catch everyone up to speed without giving too much information that should not be shared, I'll keep things simple. The Battleship York is going to arrive at a star system for the Federations expansion. It's actually a ploy for the Zandari Empire to capture the ship and the secrets she holds. The Zandari Empire wish to know everything it can about the Federation and plan a surprise attack within 5 years. That's how long it will take for them to move their armada and figure out supply routes."
"That's the basic of what will happen when we arrive, although we won't allow that to happen." Tyler spoke confidently. He was slowly getting into the swing of talking in front a group of people. "When we arrive we there will be a Gas Giant in the system. We will need the ship to focus on maximizing shields and engines over weapons. The ship will have to arrive to the center of the Gas Giant."
The room was silent. What Tyler was suggesting was suicide! The ship was build to travel in a vacuum not into a gravity rich Gas Giant! The ship would break before it reached the center. As everyone began to voice their concerns the Admiral raised his hand silencing the room.
"Quiet. If he suggested we go into the Gas Giant, I'm sure there's a valid reason." He looked back at Tyler. "What would this reason be exactly?"
Tyler had an awkward expression on his face. He knew what was inside the Gas Giant as it was a tool used by players. It was controlled by players that were criminals in the game. Inside the Gas Giant was a Warp Gate created by the Progenitors. No one knew it was there till an unlikely criminal player fled into the Gas Giant when trying to ditch a Patrol Ship. They had somehow survived and discovered the Warp Gate. This player became powerful by taking control of the Warp Gate and created his own smuggling ring by using it.
The problem Tyler face was the Federation had no idea what the Progenitors were or the technology they had! They were like children compared to the rest of the universe who sought out such powerful technology. As he thought about it, he got a genius idea!
"Admiral Halto, what I'm about to say will be shocking news to you and the Federation, but to the rest of the universe its well known. Quintillions of years ago there was a race called the Progenitors. They created powerful technology that dwarfs even the most advance in the universe today. Many of their super weapons or super structures are either missing, destroyed or in the hands of the major powers of the universe. Inside this Gas Giant is one such structures. It's called the Warp Gate."
The room remained silent and listened intently. The way Tyler spoke about the universe gave them all the feeling he had seen it with his future-sight or he actually lived it. With him claiming to be a Seer they all just believed it was a vision he saw. Plus everyone wanted to remain silent as information like this wouldn't be passed around the Federation. They all figured knowing this would make them special or give them a special position in the Federation.
"This Warp Gate has the power to bypass any shield or planetary lock or anything. It can be used to assassinate the rulers of any civilization or allow criminals to smuggle goods or evade capture. I am the only one aboard this ship who can use it. The plan is once we arrive I will use the device to teleport the Battleship York back to Federation space and then self destruct the device. It's too powerful for anyone."
Hearing his plan Admiral Halto agreed with Tyler. Something as powerful as that shouldn't be in anyone's hands. Although, he'd be saying he's lying if he didn't want that for the Federation, but if the Federation couldn't have it then no one should. Yet, something in his gut told him Tyler wasn't explaining the full plan.
Admiral Halto gave commands to the ship to focus on making sure the energy shield and engines are working at maximum capacity. He wanted nothing to go wrong. As the Command Deck got to work he pulled NCO Keda and Tyler back into his office. He wanted to get that final bit of information out of Tyler before their battle. Before they walked in another guard had arrived handing Tyler a set of clothes. It was a simple pair of civilian clothes; a pair of shorts and a grey t-shirt. Oddly enough it was just his size!
Once the three were back in the office once again, the door shut behind them. "Now Tyler. What's the full plan? I don't wish to hide in my office when the battle commences. I need to be in my chair making sure the ship is at full power." This was the Admirals way of telling Tyler to spill everything.
Tyler nodded his head. "When the ship is teleported away I don't plan to be on the Battleship York. I plan to take another shuttle and go to another planet. The planet I plan to go to will be a pivotal location in the war. It's better to have it already on the Federations side than a war zone between the Federation and the Zandari Empire. Plus it'll be a good planet for me to become a Super."
Hearing this both Admiral Halto and NCO Keda were shocked. Being a Seer was just a rare type of Super. They were curious as to what or how he could become a different type of Super, but they refrained from asking. They had other concerns.
The Admiral took a deep breath and thought about all that's transpired and wanted to repay that kindness. "Tyler" spoke with a serious expression. "I'm not going to ask what this planet is, why you need to go or anything along those lines. If you say this planet will help the Federation than I trust you. My questions will instead be this. How large of a ship do you need, do you need weapons or personnel?"
Both NCO Keda and Tyler were taken aback by the Admirals shift in personality change. He was originally skeptical of Tyler, but after watching IO Ramirez change he had complete faith in Tyler. He took a second to think of everything he would need. He already had an idea of what class he'd pick and it would make his life on the planet hard, but once he was back in the stars he would have a much easier time. He knew exactly what he needed.
"Well I need a shuttle that is large enough to house up to 15 people with rooms for each, and livable if needed. It just needs a focus on stealth and speed with a few weapons for defense. I also need a vehicle that can be housed in it that can resist as much damage as possible. After that I just need a single personnel who is also a Mechanic like you. Someone you trust and had talent, but no experience."
"Don't need a body guard?" The Admiral asked with all sincerity. "I can send NCO Keda with you and another person I think fits your criteria." He then directed his attention towards the NCO. "NCO Keda. I know Tyler didn't ask for a guard, but would you take on this task? He has shown how important he is. I need someone I can trust that can protect him till he's back in Federation Space."
NCO Keda stood up saluting the Admiral. "Sir, I'd be honored to undertake this task of guarding a Seer for the Federation. I will give my life if it's needed!"
Tyler just leaned back in his chair unable to believe that this was real. He knew NPC's were very eccentric, but NCO Keda seemed to be taking this a little too seriously.
Admiral Halto coughed "Yes, that is very good, but I don't think Tyler would put you in that situation" he gave him a look. "Now we only have some time till we arrive at our destination. I would like you to take Tyler here to Shuttle Bay 11. There you'll meet Adam, he'll get you all set up."
NCO Keda remained straight faced as she nodded to her orders. Tyler also nodded as he could tell he was being pushed out the way for the real soldiers to work. He was fine with it. He had done his job and all that was left was letting the Admiral and the Crew do their job. Tyler and NCO Keda got out of their chairs and shook the Admirals hands. Deep down, Tyler knew this would be the last time he would see the Admiral. Even if they had just met, Tyler read the man's backstory from when it was a game. He knew he was an honorable man.
The two quickly left the Admirals office and were stunned to see the crew in the Command Deck standing an saluting the two. All eyes were filled with admiration and thankfulness directed at Tyler. They believed that he had risked his life by hiding his ability only to sneak onboard a battleship and save their lives. None of them could be filled with more gratitude towards Tyler. Tyler just awkwardly smiled and waved to them as he followed NCO Keda to the elevator.
Once inside he sighed with relief. He was glad to get out of that room and towards his next step. He could tell he was close to getting to the Warp Gate and his Class Ticket. He'd be able to become a real Super. NCO Keda stood at attention as the elevator moved down and then horizontally before going downward again. It took them a few minutes to reach their destination. Once the elevator stopped the door opened into an enormous hanger.
Inside were hundreds of different type of ships! Starfighters, helicopter like ships with futuristic jets, larger gunships that were bulkier with dozens of weapons on board and even land vehicles. Hover tanks and trucks and APC's. It was so surreal for Tyler. He had seen scenes like this hundreds of times in the game. Either by helping a Galactic Civilization in a galactic war or even the Guild Wars for planets in the later stages of the game. It made him almost feel like home. It was odd.
