Everything drastically changed the moment the creature on which Blake rode discovered that something was on it. Goodness, Blake was driven insane, mostly because the creature kept ramming into mountains and hills, letting the debris fall on it knowing as the person on the creature would most definitely get wounded severely. 


As though this particular creature had a mind of its own. Simply say, it was smart. 


Normally, creatures of the underworld groove turned out to be mindless so how is it possible that this one was actually one with a mind, in fact it was able to rationalize just like how humans do Blake was not only stunned but impressed only for him to remember that the creature really wanted to get rid of him and If for any reason he succeeds to fall off the creature, then he was done for.
