World: Tranchern VI

In a small camp on a mountain, 3 people rested as a heavy blizzard raged around them. In the center was a lasgun that was augmented and produced a continuous beam of light that scattered and made a barrier or light.

Since the group had been on this world, they had all felt relaxed, like an instinctual fear had faded from them, yet they did not know why except for one. The sound of metal striking metal sounded out as the salamander forged and repaired weapons. The guardsman spun a crack near the lasgun to keep it working. As he, did the area got warmer and brighter.

The data shard had helped convert the lasgun into a 'warmth bubble' using a crank to supply the lasgun with energy. The lasgun would produce a continuous beam of light and be refracted to form a bubble of light. There was more to it using other parts of the lasgun but they didn't care how it worked, just that it did work and kept them alive.

A loud growl altered the group as they looked around. They saw giant figures that looked like apes with wings. They held large clubs that were just uprooted trees. Their red eyes stared at the three humans.

Without a single word, the space marine took his hammer and quickly rushed the apes. The hammer was the best tool for giant creatures as they weighed more. Using the gravity, function he could turn an impenetrable suit of armor into a death trap.

The apes were one of the top apex predators in this world. They held unimaginable strength and speed. They held the strength of an ogryn and the speed of a solitaires.

Like an illusion, the apes disappeared from view as they spread out, and one of the apes, which was the smallest, stepped out and rushed towards the space marine. In a quarter of a second, the ape covered a mile and launched its giant fist toward the space marine.

The salamander knew he couldn't beat the apes and was only buying time for the guardsmen to pack up the important items to retreat, but this speed far surpassed his expectations. If he took the attack head on, he knew he would suffer serious injuries even with his armor protecting him.

As the first neared closer, the salamander felt something grab him and pushed him aside. Connecting himself and quickly replanting his feet on the ground, the space marine looked at the new figure and saw a tall man wielding a large chunk of iron.

The figure lifted the enormous weapon with a single hand and slashed down. The weapon easily cleaved the ape in two, and before the ape's body could drop to the ground, the figure had already killed two more apes. In a matter of 3 seconds, 20 apes had been cleaved like they were air by the figure.

The figure placed his sword on his back and turned around and walked toward the three men. His steps made no sound or even left a footprint. It was as if he was a ghost.

The figure was covered in black armor with sharp edges all around. It gave off a savage and brutal appearance. The salamander took up his armor and prepared to fight the figure but before he could do anything, the figure launched a small silver and gold card at him.

He didn't catch the card as he assumed it was a faint, but after the figure stood there waiting, he looked down and saw a familiar name. It was the name of the store he had visited before coming here. He looked at the card and then at the figure, who nodded and quickly picked it up.

"Excuse the delay, but this is the jet you purchased as it wasn't delivered immediately. We have added an improved fuel cell to the craft. It should help you in your journey." the figure said as he turned around and left.

The salamander looked at the place the figure was before looking at the card. As he focused on it, he received information on how to use it. The card was a spatial storage device that could store anything as data and allowed one to carry anything within a small card-like device.

Inside was the jet, and it also held fuel cells. The fuel cells could easily power modern earth for 200 years and he had 1,000 of them for his jet.

He placed the card in a pouch and quickly packed up the items, as this area wasn't safe.

After a week, the group had made a trek of 300 miles and had arrived at the location the data shard had shown. When the data shard had scanned the planet, it had found a huge energy source and had mentioned it might hold shelter for them.

Tranchern VI was one of the planets colonized during the dark age of technology and used to be a temperate world filled with vibrant green life, but in the late 23rd millennia this world fell to the cybernetic revolt.

The world was bombarded with nuclear weapons, causing ash and debris to cover the skies leading to an ice age. Those that survived slowly died as the psykers they had become portals for demon incursions.

The three men looked at the snow-covered city. Its ruins stood tall. At the center was a giant pillar radiating light like a beacon.

As they got closer, the beacon of light shined brighter and loud screams were heard. The salamander told the two guardsmen to hide as he went to investigate.

As he got closer, the sounds of battle got louder and soon he saw a battle between an angel and a demon. Twisted jagged red armor adorn one man as he commanded lesser demons and a man adorn in silver armor that resembles the warriors of old terra before the exodus.

While to the salamander it was a battle of light and dark, to the two, it was a battle between brothers. Both had lived long lives. They were born on earth during the medieval. ages they had seen the rise and collapse, of man yet now the two followed different paths.

One followed a shard of their father while the other embraced chaos. The man in red armor twisted and reformed into a deadly beast of horror. Just like their father, this man could alter his appearance and he choose to morph into a monster.

The man in silver shone with golden brilliance, and a legion of golden warriors appeared behind him. On his back, golden wings sprouted and lifted him up into the sky.

Two immortals aimed their blades at each other, yet unlike their father, whoever lost would not end up as a corpse God.
