Chapter 20 : Abyss of thirsty girls

When the alarm went off the next morning, Hades jolted upright in his bed in a panic, last night, what had he done last night?! He turned to the other side of the bed and saw someone asleep under the covers, oh gods! Was that..?

"Persephone?" Hades leaned forward but then sighed in relief when he saw the long black hair covering the woman's head who had her back facing him. Oh thank Gaia, for a second there he thought he had gotten so drunk and called Persephone over to his house, what a scandal that would have been.

Melia pursed her lips as she listened to Hades slip off the bed and walk towards his shower. She couldn't believe it, so yesterday night when he was drunkenly blabbing about blue eyes and red hair he was talking about that little skank from the party? Is that why he was so touchy the whole night? Cuddling up against her and mumbling incoherent sweet words to her, because he thought she was Persephone?!

After Hades dressed up and downed a helping of painkillers for his unbearable headache, he walked out into his kitchen and found Melia having a cup of coffee. "Melia?! Umm good morning.." he walked towards his coffee maker and grabbed himself a cup as well, extra strong because the hangover he had was sent from Tartarus.

"Morning," Melia responded flatly without turning to face the god. She kept her eyes on her phone screen and continued sipping her coffee quietly.

Hades could tell from her demeanor that she was not happy to see him. Had he done something wrong? He remembered texting her to come over the previous night, but after he opened his bottle of bourbon he couldn't quite piece his memories together, his mind was riddled with images of Persephone holding him and helping him to bed.

"Did you sleep well?" Hades asked in an attempt to gauge how upset the siren was with him.

"I slept fine." She put down her phone and cup, and looked up at the man, "are you fit to go to the office? You were pretty buzzed last night."

"Oh don't worry about me, I've done this more times than I can count over the centuries." He sipped his coffee as an awkward silence filled the room. "So umm, were you the one who helped me to bed last night? I should apologize for my state, I don't know what got into me to drink that much. Also thank you for not leaving me out in my cold study."

Melia's eye twitched at his words, he really didn't remember did he? He was so intoxicated with thoughts of Persephone that he was now seeing her everywhere. He couldn't even remember that she was the one who was taking care of his drunken blue ass the whole night!

Melia got up and threw her cup into the dishwasher, from the force she used, Hades was sure it was broken. "You can drop me off at my apartment on your way to work, I'll be waiting by the car."

Hades winced when the siren opened the door and slammed it shut, okay so it seemed she was VERY upset with him. Did he fail to perform last night because of the alcohol? Maybe that's why she was so grumpy, he had read somewhere that luck of coitus usually made women irritable.

After Hades dropped her off, Melia went straight to her computer and searched every social media platform for this 'Persephone' girl who was making Hades act like a total lunatic. When she found nothing, she slammed her laptop shut and sighed, why did she even care if Hades liked this girl? It's not like she was planning to be in a relationship with him or anything right?

She picked up her phone and dialed in Arethusa's number, maybe she could have some information on this red haired goddess. "Hey girl are you busy?" Melia spoke into the phone when her friend picked up.

'Not really, I can talk,' the nymph responded, 'what's up? Any juicy details about your second night in Hades' bed?'

"Girl I don't even want to talk about that, I'm so dumb, I should have stayed home. Anyway that's not why I called you, do you remember that girl from the party, the one who came with Tekos?"

'Argh how can I forget, people are still talking about her even now, 'oh her dress, oh her nice body, oh her hair,'… ack! I mean come on she's not even that pretty.'

"Yeah whatever, listen Arethusa do you know anything about her?"

'Why?' the nymph questioned. 'She getting on your nerves too?"

Melia clicked her tongue, "maybe.. I think Hades has a thing for her, and it's starting to annoy me."

'Hades?!' Arethusa sounded shocked, 'they met one time for a few minutes at a party, how can he already have a thing for her?"

"Do you have information on her or not Arethusa?!"

'Calm down geez, don't get your panties in a twist. I don't know anything about her, in fact, up until that party, I had never seen her around.' Arethusa scoffed before continuing to speak, 'why are you so worked up about Hades liking her anyway? Melia are you starting to like him?"

"Oh don't be ridiculous!" Melia spoke with words tainted with scorn. She cut the line and put her phone back on her kitchen counter, what was Arethusa talking about? Feelings for Hades?! Not a chance! A pitiful man like him was not deserving of her feelings… right?

The week flew by relatively fast and before Persephone knew it, it was Friday. So far she enjoyed school life, except from the occasional run in with Ares who took some classes with her, everything else was flowing smoothly.

It was the last class of the day and Persephone was going through some notes when Ares made his usual rude entrance of slamming his hand on her table and smiling at her like a lunatic.

The goddess knitted her brows before looking up at him, "could you not do that please, it's getting really annoying." Persephone was usually calm and collected, and didn't usually get angry, but Ares was becoming a real pain in her neck.

"I'm sorry Persie baby, I was just trying to get your attention that's all. We haven't spent a lot of time together lately."

"In case you haven't noticed Ares, we're in a school, we have classes to attend and books to read," Persephone responded, her tone indicated she was getting angrier and angrier as the seconds went by. She rose to her feet and glared at Ares, and for a split second her eyes turned from blue to red. "And please stop calling by that ridiculous name, I'm not your baby!"

"Do we have a problem here?"

Ares and Persephone turned to who was speaking and saw Tekos towering over them with his arms folded and his brow arched in skepticism.

"No." Ares responded with a frown, "no problem at all." He gave Persephone one last look and left for his seat.

The goddess sighed and cupped her forehead feeling a bit light headed, curse Ares, he was so annoying he was making her dizzy.

"Are you alright Persephone?" Tekos asked, "do you need to go to the infirmary?"

"No I'm alright," she looked up at Tekos and gave him a reassuring smile.

"Well alright then." The satyr turned and made his way to the podium where he set his bag down and pulled out a laptop.

Wait was Tekos..?

"Good afternoon class, my name is Tekos.. please just call me as such. And I will be taking you in ecology."

Persephone looked at the blue eyed satyr in shock, he did mention he was an assistant professor but never did she think he would take her in any class. The goddess turned around and noticed that the other female class members were blushing and giggling at Tekos as he introduced himself.

Well to be fair, Tekos was what a lot of teens would refer to as 'hot'. Other than his blue eyes, he had a really nice smile that was as white as snow, he had a full head of ashy blonde hair, and a very toned body that was clearly visible under his tight fitting buttoned up shirt and jeans.

Persephone had never actually noticed that Tekos was a looker until now, something told her the girls would love this class and the boys would absolutely loath it.

After his lesson was over, Tekos dismissed the class for the weekend. And surprise surprise, all the girls swarmed towards him asking for help in questions they could clearly answer by themselves.

Persephone chuckled at the sight before throwing her bag over her shoulder and walking to the door. Tekos saw Persephone leaving and called to her, "Persephone!" He gently pushed his way through the river of thirsty girls towards her. "Sorry ladies.. please excuse me.. watch your foot there.. wow there! that's my butt you're touching please don't do that."

He walked out the class and run towards Persephone. "Persephone! Hey wait up!"

"Tekos hi," Persephone chuckled, "I see you made it out of the abyss of thirsty girls. You're really popular with the ladies aren't you?"

Tekos blushed and scratched his head nervously, "well I wouldn't say that, they'll calm down after they get used to seeing me around."

The two walked in silence through the hallways and out the doors.

"So are we still on for tomorrow?" The satyr asked nervously.

"Yeah definitely, I'm not busy."

"Awesome, do you have anything in particular you want to do? I'm down for anything."

"Well.." Persephone mumbled, "I'm kind of new here so I don't really know what's there to do."

Tekos face palmed, how could he forget that Persephone wasn't from around here? But that gave him a brilliant idea. "How about a tour of Olympus on my bike? You seemed to enjoy the ride last time."

Persephone's eyes glistened with excitement, "that would be amazing!" She squealed excitedly.

"Great, then I'll see you tomorrow at let's say… nine thirty?"

"Nine thirty is perfect." She gave Tekos a wave goodbye and walked to where she was to meet up with Eris.

From his rear view mirror, Ares watched Persephone and Tekos part ways before turning to his friends. "Follow him, try and find anything I can use to make Persephone hate him alright?"

"You can count on us Ares."
