Chapter 24 : Helios

Hera looked up from the scarf she had used to cover her face and gazed at the brightly colored building standing behind the large overly decorated gates in front of her. She didn't like coming to this residence because this is where Apollo had moved to after his little spat with Zeus, and by 'spat', this referred to the a time when Apollo tried to have his father killed by an army of demons that he had created by feeding mortals the blood of titans, but that was a story for another day.

In as much as Hera wasn't suppose to be here, by her husband's orders of course, it was not Apollo she had come to see, it was his housemate Helios, the god who had been given most of Apollo's duties while he was under house arrest for his crime against the pantheon.

Hera walked gracefully in her golden stilettos towards the intercom on the gate and pressed the button on it. "Hello…"

Hera was sure she was going to get in big trouble with her husband for being here but she really had to pull through for Hades this time. She realized that it may have seemed like she had given the king of the underworld the short end of the stick when it came to the marriage department, but that was not the case. Every time the crimson eyed god thought he found a woman who was meant for him, Hera's guts would scream at her that it was all wrong.

Even not too long ago when Hades was head over heels in love with that ratchet woman who he insisted was his 'first love', Hera knew better, she knew that that woman was bound to break poor Hades' heart, and she did exactly that. Hera was actually aware of the malicious means that woman used to get Hades to fall in love with her, it was shallow and absolutely disgusting!

But now the loveless god had found someone new, this Persephone girl who had peaked everyone's interest, including Hera's promiscuous husband Zeus. Hera knew that crap about Persephone being young was just an act Zeus was putting up, deep down that bastard wanted to be the one to make a move on her, well not on Hera's watch.

Persephone was special, Hera could feel it in her matchmaking bones. But to be absolutely sure of what she was about to do she needed help, and the only god who could assist her was Helios, the sun god, he who was also known as the 'all seeing eye god', because of his job, Helios had seen many things.

Hera clicked the button again, "Hello is anyone there?"

The intercom buzzed to life and a voice spoke to Hera, "who's there?"

Hera recognized that voice almost immediately, why did it have to be Apollo to answer the door. "It's Hera," she responded, "May I come in?"

A silence lingered for what seemed like an eternity before Hera heard a deep sigh, "yeah of course," Apollo responded, "come right in."

A beeping sound was heard and the gated swung open allowing Hera to walk onto the property. A flashy yard for a flashy pair of gods, everything in this yard from the pavement beneath Hera's stilettos to the fountains in the garden were all plated in gold. Hera rolled her eyes as she walked, Apollo could be so vain sometimes, no wonder he was so power and status hungry.

As she approached the large glass doors she saw Apollo walk out with a less than pleased look on his face. "Hera.."

"Apollo, oh come on now " the goddess spoke with a smile, "is that anyway to to speak to your mother?"

"Don't patronize me Hera what do you want? Are you here to to gloat or to mock me?"

"Good Gaia Apollo do you think so little of me?" Hera took a few steps up the stairs and stood in front of the god. "Anyway, I'm not here to make you feel even more terrible than you already do, I'm looking for Helios."

"Sun is still up in the mortal realm, he will only be home in about two hours."

"I have a bit of time on my hands," Hera responded with a smile, "I can wait."

Apollo frowned before stepping aside and letting Hera into the the loft that, just like the yard, as overly decorated. She walked to a sofa and took a seat, this was going to be incredibly uncomfortable and awkward but she had to get through this for the greater good, she had to do this for Hades and Persephone.

Ares' little minions ducked out of sight when Tekos and Persephone rode passed them back towards the city.

"Come on we need to be in their tail at all times!"

They hopped into their car and drove at a steady pace behind the pair on the bike back into town, past Olympus square, and into the largest flee market in all the three realms.

After about two hours of watching Tekos splurge on Persephone with unnecessary souvenirs, they followed them to an aquarium where they tailed the pair as they viewed the strange aquatic creatures taken from different parts of the thee realms.

And finally when the day was almost over, Ares' minions came to a stop outside a restaurant where Persephone and Tekos had stopped probably to have dinner.

"Damn this guy," one of Ares' friends mumbled in irritation, "we've been following them around all day and he hasn't done a single thing wrong?! What the hell?!"

"Calm down let's give them time, he's bound to do something weird or messed up eventually," another guy responded as he glared at Tekos and the beautiful goddess through the restaurant window. "No one can be that perfect."

Inside the restaurant Persephone lightly nibbled on her lip as she read through the vast menu of delicious food she had never even heard of before. She flipped her menu excitedly to Tekos and pointed at a picture of some food.

"This one.. I want this one!" She declared excitedly.

Tekos followed Persephone's finger to look at her choice of food, he smiled and looked back up at the excited goddess who had various little pink flowers popping out from her hair.

"Persephone, in as much as that looks absolutely delicious, chocolate waffles and fruit tarts are usually a breakfast meal."

Persephone flipped back the menu and knitted her eyebrows, "says who?"

"Says… uhhh.. well.." Tekos almost laughed at himself when he was unable to answer her question. "You know what, let's both have chocolate waffles and fruit tarts!"

"Yay!" Persephone closed the menu and excitedly called for the waitress.

His blue eyes watched her closely as she excitedly made their orders, he watched every single gesture she made, how her lips moved as she spoke, how she nibbled her lips when thinking , and slowly without realizing, Tekos' unhinged hormones began to take over.

"Tekos!"

The satyr batted his lashes and awoke from his reverie, "yes?"

"I'm going to use the restroom okay, don't start eating without me.." Persephone got up and walked towards the restrooms while the handsome satyr watched her.

"Damn it!" Tekos cursed before pulling out his pills and popping a few in his mouth. Curse his stupid dysfunction, he would have completely embarrassed himself in front of Persephone had she not gone to the washroom, and after they had had such a good day.

Tekos quickly slipped his pill bottle into his jacket pocket when he saw Persephone walking back to the table, but unfortunately, he unknowingly missed his jacket pocket and dropped the bottle on the floor.
