"Where is this place? '' La Coasta murmured in a slight panic.
He stood on a desolate plane, filled with the stench of cold blood. The gentle breeze made his hair stand straight.
His heart raced and his lungs constricted, every muscle on his body tightened.
Fear gripped his heart; he wanted to escape from this creepy place but he couldn't move his body.
"What happened? You shouldn't have awakened your bloodline… yet"
An eerie voice came from the surrounding area before it sighed.
La Coasta heart almost jumped out of his chest. He rolled his eyes and look at his surrounding for the speaker but he couldn't see the speaker.
"How do you awaken your bloodline? You're still 3 years from the stipulated time." The voice sounded again.
La Coasta didn't know whether to respond or not. He gnashed his teeth from clattering. A bead of sweat dripped from his forehead.
"You have nothing to fear. I mean no harm. I'm a bit of consciousness kept in your body only to wake up when you're 21 years and teach you our way."
"What way?"
"You haven't answered my question? How do you awaken your bloodline? This shouldn't be possible."
He took a deep breath and recounted what happened to the unknown voice.
Sighed. "I see." The voice paused before it continued.
"It's both your luck and misfortunes. I can detect the new infused bloodline in your body. But I'm very sure, it's a powerful one."
"Really, I heard it was blood from a beast."
"Ignorant. What do you mean it is blood from a beast? Every life form has a bloodline. Some can be weak while others can be strong. You will know this… in the future."
"However, if our bloodline had been weak. Your fragile body would have burst into pieces."
"As a vampire, how do you have such a weak body?" The body asked.
La Coasta was tongue-tied.
"I see." The voice sighed.
"Now, let's go back to business. The new bloodline in your system are clashing together though they seem to have reached a delicate balance."
"For you to house these two powerful bloodlines. You need a powerful physique. Else… you will see the result when you wake up…"
La Coasta began to have a foreboding feeling. What would happen to his body? He thought in panic.
"Relax, nothing would happen to you. You will just feel some pain."
"Now, the first training as a vampire."
Suddenly, a faceless man appeared in front of him.
What!
La Coasta stumbled backward and gasped. His heart missed a beat.
"Relax. This is your sparring partner and teacher. Watch and learn"
"As a vampire, your fort should be your senses, speed, dexterity, and vitality. Vitality gives us a strong body. We're not afraid of pain. Only a handful of things could harm us, not to talk of killing us."
The faceless man grows long sharp nails and runs, using complicated movement skills.
La Coasta couldn't see how the faceless man moves. He only hears the whistling sound.
'What the fuck!'
"How is this possible?" He screamed.
"This is just the basics. Vampires are more powerful than what you can imagine."
"Let's add a prey."
A tiger-like beast appeared a couple of distance from him and the faceless man appeared on the other end.
The two were looking at each other and bolted forward, creating a gust of wind.
Whoosh!
The faceless man appeared in front of the beast, sending its powerful long claw deep into the heart of the beast and dug it out in one swift motion.
"Vampires are hunters. We hunt the prey by going for their heart or head. Unless, if you want to feed. We never let our prey see the next sunrise."
"Do you understand?"
"Yes." La Coasta's blood was boiling subconsciously.
"Now, follow him in training."
After what seemed like forever, the clumsy La Coasta was getting the hang of it.
Unknown to the peaceful La Coasta, his existence was changing, turning into a deadly being.
"That's enough for now. Improve and discover more by yourself. We will meet again."
"What!" La Coasta shouted.
"Who are you and —"
"You're too weak to know. When you are stronger enough. All answers will come right to you…."
"But let me give you some advice. Get stronger quickly. You won't like it when they arrive."
Suddenly, the unknown plane disappeared and he found himself staring at a cracked ceiling.
'I still have a lot of questions to ask. Besides, how strong should I get before I get the answers.'
'Oblivion realm' The voice said in his head.
'Oblivion realm…' He mused in his heart and determined to get to the oblivion realm as quickly as possible.
He needs answers and can't wait to get them. This fuels his thirst to get stronger.
'I will get stronger not to kill but to find answers '
"Are you alright?" A weak voice asked.
La Coasta turned his head and saw two people sitting beside him with their faces whitened.
"What happened?" He screamed.
Both Kelsi and Annette look like ghosts. Their face was lifeless and their breathing was getting slower by the seconds.
"Are you asking them?" A cold voice said with annoyance.
"You're on the brink of death, muscles and skin are tearing apart and you need blood to survive. You guess the rest" Tania announced standing beside her two friends with a conflicted expression.
She couldn't understand how the two could selflessly give their blood to this useless young man.
La Coasta stared at the two weak ladies and something ignited in his heart. It was barely three days since they knew each other. Yet, they could do this for him.
He didn't say a word and stood from the bed.
"They need blood, right? Give me a few seconds. 30 seconds max. I will be back."
"Where are you going?" Tani asked with a frown.
"We've got some visitors. And where can I get blood if not from the visitors."
Visitors!
The three ladies didn't believe what they just heard. But La Coasta didn't care if they believed him or not.
Whoosh!
He disappeared from the room.
