Prehistoric Discovery

The new biome was even more depressing than the savannah. Technoblade made it out of the savannah without a hitch. There might be a few herds of wild cows and some ostriches, but no ferocious animals would harm him in the dry grassy plains.

Unfortunately, the new biome was full of bones. Technoblade thought about how this was the overworld version of the soul sand valley. The wasteland wasn't the mesa or badlands that Technoblade thought they would be. Instead of seeing colourful terracotta and exposed mineshafts for his looting, Technoblade was greeted by a land full of coarse dirt, podzol, mud and bone blocks.

Thankfully, the land still occasionally had small pools of water, even if they looked a little too green. The only trees in the wasteland were dead, but Technoblade still harvested their logs. It was quite a sad sight that he wished he never came across. No signs of life existed apart from him, so Technoblade decided not to dwindle.

As he followed the arrow searching for a new biome, he noticed how huge those bone structures were. They were bigger than anything in the soul sand valley, and it got him thinking.

"Could this be dragon bones?"

Indeed, they were large enough to be the size of an ender dragon. This accidental prehistoric discovery made Technoblade wonder if there was more lore to Aftercraft than it lets on. Some players loved lore but not Technoblade. If anything, he liked blood and a little more gore than lore.

Technoblade ran and soon found himself circling the previously explored savannah, ignoring the iconic bone structures that littered this biome. In the distance, he saw the landscape change to red and yellow.

Red sand! Sand!

Could that be the desert?

Excited, Technoblade ran towards it. The unsteady vision told Technoblade that he could be overheating and dying from dehydration without his temperature regulating skill. It was amazing how overpowered he became thanks to the shop and system given to him by the admin.

Taking full advantage of his skill, Technoblade ran as much as he could and slept to avoid encountering monsters during the night. The sandy landscape was further than Technoblade thought it was. It took him four days to finally reach the edge of the sandy borders.

Looking behind, the potato king wondered if this new biome was better. He was stepping on a combination of red sand and coarse dirt mixed with each other at the biome border. Should he explore or abandon the desert in search of the last biome?

As much as Technoblade wanted to hurry home, his gamer curiosity got the better of him.

"Screw it! I'm going to walk around for a bit and see if there is a pyramid or a sphinx in this game. What's the worst that could happen?"

Technoblade had his food and water. He had a bed to avoid monsters at night and was fully equipped with powerful armour. There was nothing he could fear here.

Confident, the PVP expert walked towards the desert before him. The only thing that bothered Technoblade was how the vision was hazy from the supposed extreme heat. That effect did not go away, so Technoblade gritted his teeth and sucked it up.

After trudging around aimlessly with the help of his map in the vast desert, Technoblade realised just how much he underestimated this hostile biome. Sand dune after sand dune, Technoblade learned desert illusions were real. Each time he climbed onto a tall dune to look around, he would think he spotted some signs of life or structures in the distance and head in that direction only to find out it wasn't real.

The repeated disappointments only intensified when the first desert storm took Technoblade by surprise. Although he had many useful skills, breathing under the sand wasn't one of them. The sand storm was terrifying, and Technoblade thanked his trusty shovel for keeping him alive. Technoblade soon learned that sandstorms could happen in a few minutes and last for hours to days.

Digging underground or building a small shelter was a good way to survive the sandstorm. He had no idea why the sky turned as dark as night during a sandstorm, but even with the low light level, monsters did not appear during it. At least, not on the chaotic surface.

Eventually, Technoblade found his first desert oasis. It was a small pond with a few juicy berry bushes and two acacia trees. There was nothing much to see around the oasis, and Technoblade abandoned his hopes of finding a desert structure. It was time to find the last biome on his list.

Technoblade explored quite a significant amount of desert, but he was far from where the jungle biome was. The arrow indicated that he had to turn back and return to the savannah, where the jungle was close.

Building a nether portal, Technoblade hopped into it and hoped that the nether express could save him some time.

Since Technoblade spent close to a week exploring the overworld, mapping out the desert, he reasoned that a full day of running in the nether would cover the distance he needed. That meant two stamina bars. He would have to fall asleep in the nether at least once if he could not find a place to drop a new portal and sleep the night off in the overworld.

The technique worked, and in no time, Technoblade found himself back in the savannah. The desert was nowhere to be seen after the second day of nether travels. The savannah looked as dry as before, and Technoblade noticed how much the arrow's direction had changed. From here, he decided to take the scenic route and follow the arrow guide on foot. He was very far from home and sighed. The trip had better be worth it.

There were a few things Technoblade wanted from the jungle. Of all the things he could plant, there was one that must come from the jungle. Yes, he needed cocoa beans. They were the only things he could make chocolate out of and, eventually, cookies. However, cocoa beans only grow on jungle logs, so Technoblade had to chop down enough jungle trees and bring back enough saplings so that he would never need to come back to the jungle.

After climbing out of the savannah into the mountainous regions, Technoblade sighed. Of course, why did he think the jungle would be so conveniently located just after the savannah?

Dropping the portal, Technoblade used the nether to travel more land and took a peek at his travel progress in the overworld.

After three portals, Technoblade finally found himself spawning at the top of a jungle tree in a jungle. The location could not have been more perfect, even at night. He dropped the bed on the canopy and slept off the night, ignoring the system notification.

Technoblade quickly tore down his portal when morning came and destroyed the tree he slept on with an axe. He had all the cocoa beans he needed from that tree and enough logs to plant them on, but the tree was stingy. For such a large tree, it only dropped two saplings. The shortest of oak trees would have dropped more than this!

"You made me do this," he told the rest of the jungle trees near him.

One by one, jungle trees fell as Technoblade went on a rampage for saplings. He also discovered that there was a new animal native to the jungle. Snakes slithered everyone in the undergrowth, and while Technoblade had poison resistance, he still hesitated to offend them.

Killing a snake dropped nothing. The only thing that it gave Technoblade was trauma. He knew this because he tried chasing one and fell into a pit full of snakes. He had no idea how he got out of there alive after killing hundreds of hissing snakes while crushing their eggs. However, Technoblade swore to never again offend another snake.

The forest had no bamboo, so Technoblade gave up his quest to find them. He could scaffold with dirt blocks the old-fashioned way. It did not really matter. The jungle was dense, and navigating his way around this terrain was a pain, so he eventually called it quits when there was nothing more to discover.

With his haul of jungle logs, saplings and cocoa beans, Technoblade created a new portal in the clearing he made by deforestation of jungle trees and made his long way back home. He would reward himself for completing this tedious quest with cookies and fresh milk.
