A Small red marble appears hovering Infront of me and then begins to morph and mold itself into a red pawn piece. holding my hand out it falls and I catch it, surprisingly it weighs a bit more than you would think. looking it over and spinning it I admire the feeling it gives off, almost like a breath of fresh air.

"W-What is-s ttt-that!?" Dodo is drooling with maw open wide looking at the pawn piece. does he want to eat it because it's shiny? looking at Athena on the side I can see her eyes are a bit glazed over looking at the piece. What the heck is going on here?

"Athena? are you alright?" I close my hand around the pawn, and Athena snaps out of her trance.

"What was that thing? it made me feel like I was being pulled into it." Dodo bounces up and down on the side and begins to beg to eat it.

"Oh, honorable master if you would allow this servant to eat that I will always serve loyally!" at the mention of the word servant a prompt appears in front of my eyes.

What the heck is this? it seems to be using the basic soul contract options from this world. if that's the case do the reincarnated still get the same benefits from the piece? only one way to find out.

The pawn flies from my head and buries itself into the slime. even with his semi-blue color, it's still possible to see it inside of him.

"AHHHH what is happening to me! it tickles! make it stop it tickles so much! hahaha!" Dodo bounces around laughing like a maniac.

"Nova, what is that thing what is happening? what did you put inside of him? it was odd to look at it made me feel weird."

"Well he wanted to be my servant so I gave him a pawn piece to make him into one. that piece will turn him into a devil like me." Athena's eyes go wide looking between me and the slime who has calmed down and sitting motionless.

"He will be a devil like you?! you can change someone's race?" I nod and she looks at Dodo as he begins to ripple a bit and eyes appear once more on his squishy ' face '.

Well with this he's truly immortal, he will live forever as long as he isn't killed and as long as a part of him survives he can reform. with the devil's immortality and his slime immortality, he will be annoying for anyone to kill. he also seemed to promote to demon king, if I remember right he was a mid-tier higher demon. either way, Dodo is looking better than ever before. the strange thing is he doesn't leak sin at all anymore it's like he is invisible to my sin sense.

"Dodo feels great! Dodo feels like he ate a feast of one hundred devil fruits! Dodo can think better and I also feel like I can just soar through the sky, Dodo feels free!" His wings emerge and they do indeed look like normal devil wings which is a bit odd looking on his semi-liquid body.

"Well, you can fly with the wings you gained. Welcome to the family Dodo your officially a devil." Dodo shifts in place for a bit before he starts bawling. praises and thanks rain down like a hurricane. "Alright, Dodo what do you feel like do you feel any new magic by chance?"

"I feel like I am full of some kind of energy I have never felt before." I quickly explain demonic energy. even though Athena is listing I don't care I want to reincarnate her soon anyway so it's not a big deal. "So try to copy me and move it through you and imagine doing something with it." he might not be the best test subject because his imagination might not be that good. but unlike my expectations I see some rocks lifting from the ground and dropping back down. it seems he is getting the hang of it.

"Dodo can grab things without even moving this is great! I can lay around and get all the food with just a thought Dodo is making it big now." at least he's happy, soon he will be my test subject on what a reincarnated devil can do. he flies around trying out his new wings and every time he runs into something he just eats it.

Turning around I see Athena watching Dodo with an odd look.

"What's up Athena, don't care about the devil fruit anymore?" she looks back at the tree and then at me.

"I defiantly do but they're not ripe now that I think back to the book I read on their appearance. if you can make someone a devil why haven't you done it before?" turning around I approach the tree and channel Agares Into it and it slowly grows some more with the fruits taking on a darker color. they probably only needed a few more days anyway. pulling the six fruit down I toss one to Athena and she catches it.

"Want a few more? and also I haven't done it before because I couldn't but now I can. if you want to be turned into a devil give me some time to get some more power to make you a better piece." she rubs the fruit in her hand and looks a bit worried.

"I don't need more it only works once anyway but thank you. if I survive I will defiantly want to be a devil like you when I can." oh yea the poison in the fruit she is worried she might not make it through it.

"Survive? what's wrong how are you going to die?"

"The devil fruit has a poison and if you can't withstand it to get the benefits from it then you will die."

"Don't worry about the poison, the antidote I made you a while back made you have a super high poison resistance so just eat away and focus on breaking through to demon king as soon as possible. if not Dodo will be my strongest traveling companion. smirking at her she deflates and gives me a pout. Dodo makes a mad dash for the fruits in my hands and I put them in my inventory except one.

"Dodo just wants one more, he will be good after he fills his belly." I toss up a few normal fruits from my inventory and he pulls them to him with magic with his mouth open wide. "Thanks, Master Dodo is grateful."

"Just call me Nova." walking over to Athena I pull out some cushions I took from a couch in the palace and place them down pulling Athena into the one at my side. "Go ahead and eat Dodo will watch us while we see what happens. Dodo hops in your dragon bones and scare anything that comes off."

"Nova first take these as thanks for making me a devil." he bounces off to the tree and pulls something out from the dirt and brings them back. he sets three items in front of me and honestly, I can't even begin to explain how lucky meeting Dodo is. these items are like pulling three five stars on the last crate opening.

Picking up the blue fist-sized marble I examine it for sin and sadly there is none. it's known as the crown of wave and is the elemental water king's origin fragment and lets him fight at his full power in this realm. in the elemental realm the kings are all ridiculously strong in the god class I think pseudo god peak level is one step from true gods. but here in the human and demon realms, their avatars are only demon overlord peak but demon overlord has two peaks. one for the peak of the class and one for in-between demon overlord and kingdomization. a half step into the first god realm but the difference is huge for demon overlords. and this lets the water king fight closer to that half step. I can trade this for a huge favor and friendship with the water king.

Then comes this Doll which is the Asmodeus royal family's secret treasure. It's called the immortal war puppet if I remember correctly and like its name states, it is immortal and can't be broken. in this state, it's tiny and sealed but in the hand of Catherine in the future can use it to fight to her limit and defeat tons of foes. it's a good bargaining chip to use when I meet her in the future. the normal copper and gold puppets are all strong in their own right but if someone hits them hard enough they break, but this one is indestructible. I wonder what it's made of or what magic it has to be that tough.

The last is a map fragment that I need to find the other pieces to. I know where they should be so no big problem, with this map I can go to the black dragon treasury. the bad part is there are multiple god-tier threats in the way so I need to plan properly before going. in the long run, though I need to make it there before the cute blind snake girl is sacrificed. I would feel like crap if she died so I need to get a teleport point down there in the dead sea and find their island.

All three items help me a lot and I am happy to have them. looking at Athena she has already eaten the fruit and is focusing on her power. poking her cheek she grumbles and I laugh before pulling up the fruit. no harm and trying one is there? taking a bite a familiar prompt appears and I am about to leap up in excitement.

Feeling a burning in the back of my eyes I can't even react to the pain because of the knowledge flowing into me. With the all-seeing eyes of Purson, I will be able to analyze magic and abilities, but even better I will be able to finally judge strength more accurately.

"FINALLY!" earning an elbow in my ribs from Athena I still can't contain my giddiness. with this, I can find magic traps and also understand enemy magic better to break their spells with worthless more efficiently. maybe I will even be able to see the soul shackles on Kia and her mom with this. quickly pulling out another fruit I bite into it and it tastes foul, spitting it out I look back at it before tossing it to dodo who opens the dragon's mouth and it floats in. "guess it's too much to ask for more than one ability."

Dodo in the skeleton begins to shake and the whole skeleton begins to melt. standing up and walking over I call out to him and get no reply. wondering what could be wrong I call up the interface.

Assimilation? did the fruit give him a skill because he reincarnated as a devil? if so that can be abused on all the people I reincarnate to let them eat two fruits. you don't always get a skill but either being a devil guarantees one or Dodo got luck and unlocked a broken bug for me to abuse. I can have Athena eat a second when she reincarnates and test it.

"Dodo are you ok?" he pulls himself into a giant blob before transforming into a dragon that looks like a slimy dragon, then he shrink into a tiny slime dragon and jumps on my shoulder.

"Dodo gained a new ability to change into things I eat." I guess when the dragon died here and he ate it leaving the bones and now finally finished eating it with his assimilation skill he gained a dragon form. Dodo just got even more broken, honestly slimes are always op. the poor red dragon who died here set Dodo up as a future power house.
