Reign's Parole

     Assumption Trapped: Chapter 4

                    "Reign's Parole"

Days. Weeks. Months and even years have passed yet Reign is still behind bars. It went smoothly yet every passing minutes on those days his suffering becomes even worst. Worst that you couldn't imagined but what else option do he have? Worst become his middle name and enduring was his second name now.

So being beatin up wasn't that big deal anymore for him.

Two mens holding his both hand side by side and violently manipulated it, he just let them beat him up until they're all sate and leave him like as if he don't matter but seems like they don't get tired beating him and they only stop when police officers came.

"Hey stop! Stop!" One of the officers exclaimed as soon as they arrived. "Put him down and put your hands on the back of your head!"

Reign who has lots of bruises and even his whole body hurt like hell he then still raise his both hands and sat on his knees, surrendering. He already know what will happen next, he know pretty sure how the system rule here so he just let them be and keep his mouth shut.

"Officer, it was a self-defense! This mother fvcker layed his hand on us! He beat one of my man first, so we're just giving the same favor too!"

The inmates aside from Reign, nodded and agreed to what their companion said. "It's true! He beat one of us and you know officers that we don't tolerate anyone and we don't let them passed that easy!"

Reign didn't say a thing to defend himself, he just let them.

"What's the use?" He always thought. No matter what he say, no one in this hell will believe him.

For the past years, he already know that everyone in here was bias, and the officers in front of him now was not an exemption. It didn't shock him when two of the officers violently dragged him up and brought him to his second cell he live – the bartulina!

They forcely push him that Reign immediately clattered to the floor. Without saying a single word they slam the metal door to closed and leave the bruised man all alone. Slowly risen so he could sat and incline himself to the cold wall, he place his hand on his knees.

He can't see anything. Just pure darkness. This isn't the first time for him to be here, this is one of a thousands times. I already lost count. Counting his worst time never interest him, that sucks. It's as if, I'm counting my sufferings.

In many times of being here in bartulina his vision extend in darkness. His hearing becomes even sharp. He may not see anything but he sure that there is something around him. He can feel the presence and so as the eyes that looking at him.

Reign let a heave sighed as he close his eyes. The image of his siblings showed in his mind. The longing his feeling for the last years becomes even worst. He's damn worried for what already happened to his siblings. It been years and he didn't get any chance to talk to them over the telephone, it's as if they cut ties. It's only him who's working for their living and now that's his being imprisoned he don't know what happened to them.

'I hope my siblings doing fine. I couldn't ask for more.'

Riegn punishment end as soon as morning came. The jail guard brought him to his cell. While walking at the hallway, he noticed someone looking at him. He look back but to no avail he didn't saw any. Just like what he did last night,he just shrugged it off.

Time flies really fast. Lunch came and all inmates held on the dining hall. Everyone is eating the way they wanted. But before they get their lunch they'll need to line up first and wait until their turn came. Now that it was Reign's turn, he picked his stainless lunch plate and get some food given by the officers.

When he was done by his food he immediately look at tge whole dining to find good table to eat.

Unfortunately, all tables was being occupied. And then he came to see the table at the center, their was only one inmate sitting there so he hurried up and seat to that table.

When he finally reached the table, he carelessly sat even though he already know who's sitting parallel to him. Only to find it sooner. The middle man sitting in front was none other than the 'serial killer' who claimed to name by everyone.

If what he heard about this man is all true, then he should be threatened by now. Because according to some gossips, that man right there is a serial killer and he tend to eat some organs of the people he kills. That man also eat grass. Yes grass! And Reign knows about it because he once saw him eating grass at the back of the building.

The man sitting parallel to him is a crazy old man but Reign don't see him as one. The man never touched him and bring harm. Not that his asking for it.

The old man claimed to be crazy by everyone lifted his gaze and stare to the man who sat in front of him just now.

The man with homicide case. He thought.

'It's unusual that he had the courage to join me. I'm a serial killer and I ate organs but seems like this young man isn't threatened at all.'

Though there's nothing to be afraid of as long as he stay on his place.

Reign lifted his gaze when he noticed the old man is looking at him.

He heaved a deep sighed and never mind the old man. He just continue eating as if no one is looking at him.

One afternoon of the month of August, another years have passed. Reign's attorney, Mr. Walter came to visit him. He'll faced him boringly because he know that's this visit of him would be one of those boring talks. But to his surprised, instead of going to visiting area, the police who escort him led the way opposite to what he thought.

Only to find out sooner, Reign immediately know that they were walking the way to the warden's office.

When they finally stop, the police officer lifted his arm and motioned the door, Reign who was still don't know what to do, open the door with hand slightly shaking, not because of fear but because of something building up inside him that he's not familiar with.

When Reign step foot inside of the warden's office, the first person he saw was his attorney.

The warden and Mr. Walter is having their cup of tea when the person they are waiting — Reign finally arrived.

"Have a seat number 3546," the warden said as soon as he look at the inmate infront.

Confusion is visible to Reign's face as he sat on the single sofa at the center.

"May I know what I'm doing here?" Reign took a quick glance to his attorney.

It was the warden who answered.

"You don't know yet?" The warden nonchalantly ask. He then glance at Mr. Walter. "You didn't tell him, did you attorney?"

"I didn't get the chance to tell him so, yeah."

The confusion Reign's feeling grow even more. What the heck they're talking.

"In lighten me please! I know you two are referring to me, so what is it that I need to know?" Said Reign, forehead creased.

The warden let out a short laugh while shooking his head a bit.

"Your attorney is really, really weird. But so much for him," The warden took a folder and give to Reign. "What do you think about it?"

With his eyebrows creased. He opened the folder only to made him dumbfounded.

"You've been here for the last 6 years and after all those years you maintained your good record. You didn't done something that can harm you, even if you were suffering from violence and unfairness. It's all done and processed!"

Reign didn't know what to do nor what to react. He glance at his attorney and met his eyes. Mr. Walter nod.

Reign didn't found out sooner that tears is now gripping down to his cheeks. Tears after tears.

He may look idiot or stupid whatsoever because his crying but there's a genuine smile on his lips.

This is what he's waiting for. He may not admit it, but sure he waited for this! The suffering and enduring is all worth it!

This is it

"Congratulations, you'll be released as soon as now!" Said Mr. Walter. "It's all worth it. Finally, you did it Reign, because of that parole, you'll be free... Again!"

Reign stared at the parole form his holding. "This is it!" He uttered. "I can clear myself now!"
