4. First Match

It's morning of my fifteenth day since I become a player and I was woken up by the game system notification.

"What the hell is this?!"(Wilhem)

I thought I would wake up to another normal day as usual but no, I was wrong.

Without having any time to react, I already found myself standing on the center of a small simple wooden room.

Because I integrated with Hatoz before, I have better senses now and I could tell that I'm not alone in this room at the moment.

"Lord Valethar! It is an honor to be able to meet you. This lowly servant can't thank you enough for the chance you have given my race, I will devote my life fully to your, my lord."(Karan)

'Karan? Did I got teleported to his world? No, I remember the system said something about participating a battle so I belief Karan was also teleported here together with me. Well at least I'm not alone right now.'(Wilhem)

I checked Karan current status and felt fortunate that I had used both of the only grade up scrolls that I have to raise Karan grade to Gold.

- Lord of Wolves - Could tame all kind of wolves under his command and strengthen them.

- Fenrir Descendant Transformation : Could change the body between the legenary beast Fenrir form and original form.

- Bloodthirsty Howl : The host let out a howl that increase the host all over power by 40% and the allies around the host damage by 25% for 20 seconds. The enemies that hear this howl will be put into the 'terrified' debuff and cannot move for 5 seconds.(The higher the enemy grade is, the lower this skill effectiveness)

- Death Mark : Give a mark to an enemy. The mark will give out the enemy location for 24 hours and will give the host 300% power up against the marked enemy while decreasing the enemy overall power by half. This skill could only be used one at a time and will take 30 days before available to be used again.

Karan gained one new skill every time his grade got raised by one and since his grade were increased by two, he got two new skills which are 'Bloodthirsty Howl' and 'Death Mark'.

The bloodthirsty howl skill is and AOE and CC type of skill that can buff the ally and the debuff the enemy at the same time while the death mark skill is a sure kill skill that can be used for one by one fight.

AN : AOE : Area Of Effect, a term used in gaming to describe area attacks. CC : Crowd Control, the ability to partially or completely disable one or more players or mobs.

I still remember the system saying something about battle royale and that means I have to fight.

Fortunately I choose to try that skill yesterday and end up integrating with Hatoz, though the pain was very intense, it still worth it.

By integrating with Hatoz I gained all of his skills, including his body stats as well so I won't be able to die that easily now.

The problem now here is that Karan was teleported here without his wolves.

I could say that Karan main power is his ability to tame wolves and strengthen them after wards.

Even if he can turn into his beast form, his first and third skill only can be useful if he have his wolves with him and without them, it could be said that Karan overall power has been decreased by more than half.

Thinking about it more, this game has become more dangerous than what I first thought.

I was expecting an open world like game but not this survival kind.

From the mission objective, I need to survive at least for 100 days or be the only survivor to win this game, but looking at the game so far, I doubt hiding will be enough to survive.

I had played some games that similar to this survival game.

In some of those games, whenever I killed another player, I could gain something from it, whether it was a loot, an ability, or something else, but the point here is that if I killed someone then I will become stronger.

Another type was that I won't gain anything from killing other players, but I could find some items hidden in the wild.

I don't know about this match though, but there's nothing wrong from guessing things right?

There's no use thinking about this to much, I should go outside and hope to find some wolves for Karan to tame.

I look toward Karan who still kneeling beside me and called out to him.

"We need to move, Karan. Do you have any way to find some wolves for you to tame first?"(Wilhem)

"Yes my lord, I could smell the wolves scent 100 meters away from me."(Karan)

"Okay, let's make it out first priority for now. Lead the way Karan."(Wilhem)

"As you command, Lord Valethar."(Karan)

We went outside and found ourselves in the middle of a forest.

When I look back toward the room door from before, it's already gone.

Maybe that room was some kind of a waiting room that exist in a different dimension.

I was hoping to find some wolves first after we got out but we already met a trouble not even 5 minutes after we got out from that room.

We met other player along with his champion.

I look at his clothes and noticed that he was only a middle schooler boy but this is not the time for me to show any mercy.

Thank god I had read a lot of those heroes novels who likes to do good things only to get betrayed by his own comrades.

Hypnoticing my own mind that currently I can't trust or even show any mercy to others, I steeled myself to fight him.

His champion also look quite young, maybe even younger than me, but she was glaring daggers at us right now, unlike the boy who was currently hiding behind her back.

Yup, his champion was a girl, unfortunately I'm no simp.

Gender Equality, that was one of the greatest teaching I ever learned from the guru of shameless, Kazu-, damn the girl just shot an arrow at me, though I dodged it so easily.

I don't think I will ever be able to release this integration, the feeling of being powerful is very addicting and wonderful.

Since they attacked us first, I don't need to hold back against them as well. but before I could even start my attack, Karan already transformed into his beast form and attacked them first.

Since the girl seem to be a ranged type champion, she couldn't fight that well in a close quarters combat and with Karan being a very powerful champion for that kind of fight, he overwhelmed the girl in few moves.

Not even a minute after that, Karan already beat the girl and I walk to the boy instead.

"Please, don't kill me. I-I will do-do anything, ple-please...!!" The boy plead to me for his life.

To be honest I was a bit hesitant to kill him.

This will be my first time trying to kill someone.

I thought I had steeled myself for this but the bitter truth had hit me harsh in the last moment.

I conjured a fire with my right hand and was stood still in front of the pleading boy.

After hesitating for a few seconds, I steeled myself and forced my right hand to face the boy and then I conjured a flame thrower to him.

At the same time, the champion of this boy somehow slipped out from Karan hold and then moved in front of the boy to protect him from my fire.

"Stop, please! I'm willing to give you my body and soul, instead please release my lord." the girl then started to plead at me while she was crouching at the ground, in pain.

Unexpectedly, after she said that, the game system showed up.

- Moon Light Falls: Calls down waves of falling stars that can damage the enemy and give the 'blinded' debuff for 5 seconds. Can only be used at night.

Looking at my new champion stats, I got very satisfied with it.

Who will say no for a free champion?

I didn't expect for the situation to turn like this at all but this result is much more better than killing them and gain nothing.

I need to prove my guess to another player then since I can't kill this one.

I will make sure that I won't hesitate for the next time, my life could be in danger at those few seconds when I hesitate after all.

And since I already got his champion, I don't think it's a problem at all to squeeze him out from all of his items.

I only promised Sarah to spare his life, but not his items.

Fortunately, the boy didn't fight back at all or tried to lie at me when I told him nicely to give all of his item to me.

Knowing that he also a newbie like me, it was not that strange that he only have 1 item inside his inventory and I would even believe him if he said that he didn't have any item at all.

But the item that he gave me gave joy to me as it was actually the Random Champion Summon Token.

I asked him the reason he didn't use it and he gave me a very ridiculous explanation.

He said that yesterday he tried to pull gacha in his favorite game which is also a game that I play a lot to actually and he said that somehow he got a very rare item from the gacha.

Afraid for his luck being already sucked up by the gacha, he decided to save the token to be used at another date when he felt that he already gained his luck back.

Well, I can't really blame him for it as he was still in his first year of middle high school which make him still a kid.

I also asked him about what kind of world did he chose and he told me that his world which actually Sarah world is a world ruled by the elf race and Sarah is actually one of the few princess from that race.

The enemy that world was facing was the evil creatures from the abyss.

After I asked him some question, I let him go, just as I promise to the girl archer, but I doubt he could survive for 100 days here alone.

I only promise to spare his life after all, not to baby sit him, so if he died from another cause then it won't be my fault.

But at least now I know that the boy also get the first time offer as well in his shop and that means there are other players that have 2 champions with them.

I don't want to follow the boy idiocy and decided to use the random champion summon token right away.

- Shadow Spear of Misery : And AOE damage skill where the host summon shadow spears from the ground in an area of 1 kilometers around the host. The summoned shadow spears will automatically attack the enemy at sight. The enemy that got killed by this skill will be turned into a misery soldier and their will be trapped in that form forever until the host release them. The host can keep 1.000 Misery Soldiers at maximum. The skill could only be used once a week but the misery soldiers could be summoned at will.
