The return of the guards

When Queen Leah learned that her competitor was expecting again, she became enraged and envious. So she attempted to steal something valuable from them, the eternal torch. She sent her guards to steal it without informing her husband.

Everyone in the kingdom was taken aback when the guards arrived. They tried to reach out to their loved ones, they moved back. They were terrified for their lives. They didn't want to interact with them.

The king dashed outside his palace to inspect the guards on his own. The state of his guards astounded him. He couldn't believe what he was seeing. Their bodies were splattered with burned marks. They appeared to be walking hell.

The king inquired "Are you okay? What caused all of this to happen to you? Who is to blame for this? What were you doing?".

"This occurred because of humans, Your Highness. They were at fault. They tortured us and then returned us to us so that we, the fairies, would be afraid of them "one of the guards clarified.

The king became enraged when he heard this. Then he inquired as to why they needed to travel to their kingdom. The guards were terrified when they heard the question. "It was the queen's order, Your Highness," the guard said fearfully.

"Do you mean the queen ordered you to travel to the human kingdom? ...But why? "enquired the king "Her Highness...desired that we steal the eternal torch that was burning inside a cave. It never goes out....and they regarded it as a blessing "The guard elaborated.

When the king learned that his wife was to blame, he was devastated. He couldn't punish her, though, because fairies adored her. As a result, he asked the guards to keep it a secret and promised to compensate them for their loss.

Their bodies began to heal as soon as they finished explaining the situation. They reverted to their original selves. They thanked God for giving them a second chance.

The spirits realised that the guards were not to blame, so they cursed them for life. It can only be broken if they speak the truth and admit their errors.

The king was overjoyed to see them healed. He apologised for the trouble his wife had caused them. He gave them a bag full of gold coins and told them they could never return to the palace. The guards promised the king, they took their gold and left the kingdom.
