Anathema - The Curse

He silently sobs while the rest of my friends glare at me, except for Gregor. He looked curious and baffled at the same time.

"You don't have to answer that, Uncle Harsha. Swastik is tired and his mind is making him do crazy things." Anya consoles him.

"No, I'll answer him." He sobs as continues,"this island is my home. It'll be my home till the day I die. I can't leave my home."

With that, he abruptly stands up and runs out of the hut. Now I'm left with my friends looking at me like I'm a villain and Uncle Harsh was a little girl who I tormented until he broke down and cried.

"I'll go after him." Gregor suggests.

"Don't, Gregor." Anya stops him.

"Yeah, Swastik has hurt him enough. Let him recover for a while alone." Grace says and haughtily glares at me.

I flinch.

I look towards Luca and Noah for some support. I flinch again.

Yeah I'm the villain now.

"I'm not gonna apologise." I state.

"Yeah, like that apology would mean the world when you put such thought to it." Luca says, sarcastically.

After that a tense silence falls around the hut. No one speaks for a long while. Everyone is resting on the stiff ground, trying to catch up their strength.

I'm sitting on the ground leaning on the wall. It's afternoon right now and the events of yesterday and today have drowned my energy levels. But still I'm trying to keep my body ready, because I still don't trust Uncle Harsha. My gut is screaming at me that something is wrong.

I don't know how long it has been. Might've been an hour or two. I'm attuned to my friends enough to know that they are just resting and not sleeping.

"Will we ever get home?" I say wistfully.

"You won't ever get home," booms Uncle Harsh.
