"Ever noticed that you might have anger issues?" Bilbo asked.
The trio departed from the town of Oakwood early in the day and currently the skies were getting darker.
Throughout their journey, Max was in a bad mood because of Bilbo's shenanigans. He wanted to ditch him so bad, but he also recognized his usefulness.
Whenever Max would go on a journey, he would get ambushed many times. He wouldn't get a proper good night's rest.
But with Bilbo here, he didn't need to be too alert because the old man knew what kind of beasts would inhabit which parts of the forest and which types of herbs would repel them.
They didn't even get close because of the bad smell radiating around their camp.
"I have just the stuff for you." After making the camp, the trio were sitting around the bonfire when Bilbo said and went for his bag.
He lifted the cover and dived inside the bag with only his dangling feet visible. Then he took out a pouch. "Hehehe my precious." He said with a perverted smile as he caressed the pouch. "Raelyn would never let me have this stuff at home, so it's been a while for me too." He said and opened the pouch. It was filled with white powder.
"What's that?" Max asked while getting suspicious.
"This my sweet summer child, is called moon sugar. It's imported from Elsweyr, so it's some quality stuff. You can just eat it as powder but I don't like it that much." He said as he dived inside the bag and took out a bowl and some sticks to hold it in place.
He placed the bowl over the fire and poured some powder in it. He took out a spoon and stirred it until the powder solidified into a few cubes.
He put the spoon down and took the bowl. "Here take one." He offered Max.
"What will happen if I eat this?" Max asked.
"Something magical." Bilbo said with a soothing voice.
"I don't believe you." Max said.
"Come on! Trust me, you will like it. You will start seeing the beauty of the world." Bilbo insisted.
After Max saw that Bilbo didn't stop insisting, he relented and put one in his mouth.
"Woah!" The world started to blur in his vision as colors got brighter. "I-I! Ahahaha!" He started laughing.
"It's good right?!" Bilbo said as he popped one in his mouth too. "Ahahaha!" And he also started laughing.
"This is so good!" Max said while jumping around. "Come on Bilbo let's spar! Woooh! I'll beat shit out of you! I'm the strongest!" He shouted crazily.
Bilbo didn't back down from the challenge and grabbed his short sword. "Oh it's on kid! Bring it! Ahahah!"
*Sigh* Medb sighed from the side after seeing the two becoming turning more and more into degenerates.
"Bilbo I don't feel any pain! Is this normal?!" Max yelled while taking a beating from Bilbo.
"It's normal! You've surpassed your limits!" Bilbo replied while beating the shit out of Max.
"This is so much fun! Thank you Bilbo! Ahahah!"
——<>——
"Fuck you Bilbo!" Max shouted as he chased Bilbo around while shooting swords.
"Hey! It's not my fault! Who told you to be grumpy all the time?!" Bilbo shouted as he ran around the camp.
"Can we leave already?!" Medb shouted in frustration for the first time she had met Max.
"After I kill this old man!" Max shouted.
Then a man walked out from the bushes with a dagger in his hand.
He had leather gear with a hood that covered most of his face. "Alright, this is a robbery. Hand over your valuables or I'll gut you like a fish!" He hissed with animosity.
"…" Silence descended upon the trio.
"You didn't hear me?! I said hand over your valuables! No funny business, I can cast Lightning Chain!" He said once more.
*Bam!
Then a loud sound echoed through the forest. "Oh yeah? I can cast Glock." Max said with a gun that was smoking from the barrel.
The thief fell down with a thud.
"What's that?" Bilbo asked curiously upon seeing the weird thing in Max's hand.
"This?" Max asked while showing the gun. "It's just a toy that can be used for taking out mobs just like him." He said while pointing at the corpse of the thief.
And it wasn't a lie. Projecting a gun was too hard. It consumed way too much mana for what it was capable of. If he didn't aim for the eye, he wouldn't be able to penetrate the leather armor the thief was wearing.
The world rejected the gun because its technology was way too ahead from now. It saw the gun as an alien object.
"Hmm, is that so?" Bilbo nodded and the trio went on their way once again.

"You have way too many habits kiddo." Bilbo said with a sword on his shoulder while down at Max who was laying on the ground like a starfish while panting heavily. "I took me a while to memorize them all. For your young age, you have way too many styles. Sometimes I even feel like I am fighting myself." He said.
'What did you expect? I copied your style! It was useless though.' Max thought.
"In situations like these, a friend of mine used to say something like, ahem, 'Discover your foes habits, discard your own.' Yeah it was something like that. I don't know what kind of training you had before, but you have to discard them as soon as possible. It may not be a problem in a short fight, but in a prolonged fight, an intelligent opponent will be your doom." Bilbo said with his arms crossed as if he was imitating someone.
"I'll work on that." Max said as he slowly got up and projected Kanshou and Bakuya once more.
"Good. Now, come!" Bilbo said as he put his short sword before him.
***
"Gah! Dammit!" Max yelled as he was thrown on the ground once more.
"You are getting too agitated! The same friend of mine had another saying in situations like this, hmm what was it again?" He put a hand to his chin, "Ah! I remember. It was; 'Anger is a crack in the hull that sinks the ship.'" He said with his arms crossed.
"Okay, I got it!" Max said as he slowly got up once more. "…Can I have some moon sugar?" He asked hesitantly.
"Oh no."
