Robin's feelings

(Many people are not feeling good about this relationship. But hear me out; this is not the original One Piece story, nor is it a story where the main character gets all of the girls due to his role as protagonist.

Robin and Luffy ship doesn't make sense in the original story, but not here. Because here, Luffy grows, he learns, he becomes more like a Captain.

This is where I would draw a line between this Luffy and the Original Luffy. This Luffy was changed, slowly but throughout one hundred and seventy chapters, he became more thoughtful, more understanding and a better Captain while still retaining his good qualities.)

(((So, please do not think of this Luffy as the same Luffy in the original story.)

At this moment, Vivi and the others swiftly left that place. Even Sanji, who was kneeling and crying, decided to give Robin some space.

"Huh? Why do you want to sleep with me? Don't you girls sleep together?" Although Luffy was an idiot regarding the concept of lust and love, he knew that only married people could sleep together.

Although Liam and Nami weren't married, they were in a similar kind of situation. Luffy knew they were lovers.

So, it was normal for them, but it wasn't normal for Luffy and Robin. It's not that Luffy was shy, but he never considered Robin to be his lover.

Robin sat next to Luffy and slowly placed her head on his shoulder. This was enough to clear some of Luffy's doubts, but that's exactly why he started to feel hot.

"Robin, what are you doing?"

"Luffy, you don't know anything about a boyfriend or girlfriend, right?" Robin smiled and asked.

"Umm! Isn't that what Nami and Liam are?" Luffy asked.

"Yes, and I want to be the same with you." Robin replied with a serious tone but the same gentle smile.

"I don't understand it, Robin." Luffy was completely clueless about what to do next. So, he just scratched his head and asked.

"Do we have to do whatever Liam and Nami are doing? Although I don't know what they are doing, I know only married people do that, right?"

Robin was a bit surprised by his knowledge. She originally thought Luffy knew nothing about this.

She nodded and said.

"Yes, but lovers can do the same. It's just that most of the time, lovers often do not become a married couple. Naturally, I don't want that. I want to be in love with you and marry you."

"But I know you don't understand these things. So, I want to be with you and slowly teach you these things."

"So, we are not lovers yet?" Luffy nodded and asked.

Robin also nodded and replied.

"No, we are not. To be exact, I want to fall in love with you, and I want you to do the same. But, it is obvious that we haven't reached that step."

"Then, we are not like Liam and Nami?" Luffy asked.

Robin giggled and shook her head.

"Nope! From what I know, Nami and Liam fell in love with each other way back when they were in Cocoyashi Village. But it was only during Drum Kingdom that they confessed to each other."

Hearing that, Luffy also smiled and asked.

"Why do you want to fall in love with me, Robin? Are you also like Alvida?"

Although Luffy didn't know a lot about Love, he knew Alvida liked him, just like Nami liked Liam. It's just that he didn't like Alvida.

"You can say so." Robin replied with a calm tone and continued.

"But, I am not Alvida. I want to fall in love with you because I feel secure with you."

Hearing that, Luffy frowned and replied.

"What are you talking about, Robin? You are my crewmate, I will always protect you."

Robin smiled at that and replied.

"I know. But, my heart isn't satisfied. Luffy, what do you think of me? Tell me what you feel about my character."

Hearing that, Luffy thought for a moment and replied.

"You know a lot of things just like Liam. You are also very confident. You also like to hide things like Liam."

Robin nodded.

"That's who I am. I hide a lot of things from others. Because I am afraid of opening up about my feelings towards others. Luffy, I feel safe with you and your crew."

"I know you will always protect me, but deep down, I am afraid of losing your protection. I am afraid that you will replace someone with me. I am afraid of being alone."

When she said that, Luffy tightly embraced her and said.

"I will never replace you. Robin, I promise you."

"That's true, but announcing it won't be enough to make me feel safe." Robin curled up in his embrace and continued.

"Luffy, unlike you, I have found a lot of information about you. As you said, I know a lot of things. I know you've grown significantly stronger after Liam's training, but what if he wasn't here?"

"Even if you had defeated Crocodile somehow, even if I had joined your crew, would I still be here? CP9 members were lurking in Water Seven. You would've come here to repair the same."

"I would've been threatened by those people. Yes, I wouldn't sacrifice you guys, but I will leave you guys. Would you still fight for someone who left you because of fear? Would you still fight for someone who betrayed your trust?"

Hearing that question, Luffy clenched his fist. Although he was an idiot, he understood a lot of things, especially when it came to his crew and their safety.

While he might have gotten stronger, he knew that without Liam's training, he wouldn't be the CP9 members' opponent or at least defeat them so easily.

Would he have fought them for Robin? Yes, he would've done that. Even if he had gone against the world government, he would do it again.

Even if he was weak, he wouldn't hesitate to sacrifice his life for Robin.

"When I asked this question to myself, I wanted to believe you would. I wanted to believe you would do anything to protect me. But, that didn't happen."

"That situation was just a fragment of my imagination. It was something that my cautious mind thought of when I realized my situation on this ship."

"That's why I want to fall in love with you and make you fall in love with me."

Robin moved his legs and sat there while facing his face. She was a bit taller than him so she had to look down.

At this moment, Robin no longer had that same gentle smile or calm look. Her eyes were red, and her cheeks were flowing with tears.

"I know what kind of person you are. That's exactly why I want to be with you, be your lover so that my heart will never be afraid of being lonely ever again."

"I am not Nami or Vivi. I don't have a home to return to. I don't have a family to go back to. This crew is my family. You are my home. I want to be with you forever."

"So, please give me a chance to be your lover. Love me, Luffy!"

When she said that, Luffy didn't say anything. He just pressed his hands around her and hugged her tightly.

After a few minutes, Robin slowly left his embrace and wiped away her tears.

"Sorry for being selfish, Luffy!"

Luffy shook his head and opened his mouth.

"You know, I don't know much about being lovers or marriage. I might not be a suitable lover for you."

When he said that, Robin's heart sank. She was afraid of his rejection more than anything else.

She had many choices, but these choices came with some their problems.

Liam had his problems. Zoro wasn't a suitable lover with his past and loyal attitude. Sanji was just no. Usopp already had a childhood sweetheart.

As for Chopper and Franky, she didn't even think about them.

Luffy also had some problems. But he was also the most suitable for someone with a broken heart like her.

Because once Luffy becomes hers, he will never betray her love and break her heart.

Just when she thought Luffy was going to reject her and several negative thoughts came to her mind, Luffy continued.

"But, if you believe in me and need my love. Then, I will love you."

Luffy scratched his head and said.

"This love might not be the same, but I hope you can make me understand what that kind of love is."

Hearing his confession, tears began to fall from her eyes once again. She grabbed his head and pressed it against her chest while choking.

"Thank you, Luffy!"

"You are welcome." Luffy just smiled and replied.

She didn't let go of him, and Luffy didn't think much. But as time passed, he slowly realized that Robin wasn't awake.

He slowly separated himself from her, but she wasn't letting off his body part. So, he opted for his arm and slowly lifted her with his other arm.

As he was taking her to the Captain's room, the Vice-Captain's door opened. Nami and Liam walked out.

"Weren't you two busy?" Luffy asked, looking at them with surprise.

"Well, we couldn't continue with all this going on." Liam pointed at him and Robin. He was still speechless at Robin's choice.

But he also understood her heart.

Nami looked at sleeping Robin with a distressed expression and turned her eyes to Luffy.

"Robin trusts us. She knows you will always protect her. Just like me, she is afraid. That fear is something that can only be removed with love."

"Luffy, you are a goofball and also not so bright. But I just want you to know. If there is something that can make Robin feel safe...."

"It's your love."
