New kits

It is eleven pm and it is raining heavily. I am awake watching anime as usual, Harper is asleep while Luna pretends to be asleep, she is scared of thunder sounds.  A thunderstorm strikes, Luna jumps out of her bed and on to mine, I couldn't help myself but laugh.

"It's not funny...😒" She throws a pillow at me.

"I'm sorry😂 I'm sorry it's just so funny."

"You're so..." Another thunder sounds, Luna jumps and grabs me tight.

"Woah, easy, easy."

"Curse this rain." She said.

"Why are you so frightened of thunder, it's just a sound. The real threat is the lightning and it comes before the thunder so you being scared of thunder is absurd you know."

"Yen yen yen yen... Blltttsssszzz." She said with her tongue out.

I reach into my bag and bring out an item "Here, use this." I give her my iPod.

"Wow! Where did you get it,how can you afford this?"

"Let's just keep this between us🙂."

"Okies. Thanks." She plugs it in and sleeps beside me, shortly after she falls asleep.

The next morning is Monday, I take my daily endurance training routine but I didn't finish because I have to submit my write up at Mr Bradley's office so I go to school early.

"Good morning everyone. I am Mrs Kemi Gbenga and I will be assisting you along with Mr Bradley and Professor Ezekiel. Please be advised that I will not tolerate indiscipline, lateness and laziness."

I couldn't help but have chills in my feet as she speaks.

"Today I'll be grouping you into a pair of two. You and your partner are to study each other's behaviour, likes, dislikes, hobbies and whatever it is you can find out. FYI you are not allowed to ask questions about each other, this is basically mind games and sociology. You have two weeks to find out. The grouping starts now, there's a total of sixteen of you in this class, unfortunately one of you was suspended so that's fifteen. I'll have to pair one group into three." She calls out our names and gives us a partner.  "Good luck. Class dismissed."

She takes her leave.

It was like a dream come true, I was paired with Brittney.

"Excuse me..." Brittney goes after Kemi.

"Ma'am can I switch partner."

"And why do you want to switch partner?"

"My partner is a total stalker, he creeps the hell out of me, his social skills is very low, I can't work with that."

"That's interesting, not only did you manage to find out he stalks you but also found out he has a low social ability, if you ask me I'd say you're already carrying out your task well, you're doing well already no need to change partner, now if you'll excuse me I have a meeting." Kemi leaves.

Brittney hits the wall." Damn!"

She looks at me with fire burning in her eyes and I look back at her, she sighs and leaves the class. I follow her out as quickly as I can but turns out Megan was out waiting for me.



"Hi🙂" she said as she stands and stares at me, looking pretty as ever.

"Umn hey, you're here..."

"Yeah I am, I saw Brit leave so I knew you'd be done with class, I was just around the corner."

"Oh that's.. that's good." I said as I stretch trying to find Brittney.

"C'mon let's go eat something."

I follow her to her car where she kept some freshly baked cup cakes and juice. We eat, have a nice laugh and get closer.

Her alarm goes of.

"Wow, time flies fast. Sorry, I gotta go to the track for training, hopefully I'll see you soon."

"Hopefully."

"Oh and I got you these..." She gives me some athletic kits.

"Thanks but I can't accept this."

"C'mon don't be so modest, it's a gift from me to you, just accept it with your heart." She tosses it to me and jogs off.

"Thank you!"

"She really likes you, you know." Andy said from behind me.

"Andy?? How long have you been standing there?"

"A while..."

"Shouldn't you be on the track?"

"Yeah, broke my toe so I can't train untill I'm fully recovered."

"Oh that bad huhn..."

"Yep. How bout you stop by my place tonight, meet some of my friends. We got something crazy going down tonight 😌"

"That'd be nice."

"Hostel C, room forty, eight o clock, don't be late🤞🏾"

"Alright 🤝"

I didn't have any other class today so I change into the kit Megan got for me, it was perfect, it also has ankle and  knee straps and the spikes fits perfectly. It actually leaves me wondering how she knew my size, I exercise a little at the gym then head home to rest till it's time to go to Andy's room.
