Blood Moon

She wasn't supposed to answer him. He was the enemy, she thought. But instead of keeping her mouth shut, she found herself calmly answering his questions.

"My power was unstable for a long time. Father always tells me to not use it because it has flaws. I only use it for stopping time. It was just the second time I used it to turn back time. From what I know, all those who felt my powers knew what happened to them. Like when the person died, they knew exactly what transpired in the future if I turned back time. So definitely, that person will have the opportunity to change his future. Thus, altering their fate. That's the reason my power was forbidden."

Thane looked out the window and sighed. Elisia kept her eyes on him and she wasn't scared anymore. The darkness surrounding the werewolf king was gone. Her fear of the man changed, making her confused, and she suddenly felt safe.

"How did your boyfriend die?"

"It was an accident. We got married in the morning. It was just a small ceremony with our friends and his family. We were happy. I was happy. We were supposed to have our honeymoon in Kilshade City. That evening we decided to travel by car, but on the way, a trailer truck ran into our car. When I woke up, I was in a hospital and he was gone. I didn't even have the chance to say goodbye to him. It broke my heart that two months had passed when the accident happened."

Elisia's heart felt like it was being ripped. It already happened a year ago, but she couldn't move on. For her, it was like it just happened yesterday.

Thane felt Elisia's loneliness but he had no time to sympathize with her. He didn't even know how to console someone.

"When did he die exactly?" He asked instead.

"On the third day of the third month. We were hit by a truck at ten in the evening if I'm not mistaken." Elisia answered.

Thane frowned when she heard 'the third of the third month.' He turned to face her again which made Elisia frightened. There it was again. The feeling that something dark was hidden inside Thane.

"I didn't die on that day. I died on the fourth, and it didn't happen in 2039. I died two years ago. That means you didn't just turn back on the day your boyfriend died. You turned back way beyond that. You're really in serious trouble." Thane commented.

Elisia was shocked. She thought Thane died at the same time her husband died. She gulped and felt a tightening grip on her chest. Her lips started trembling, but she mustered her strength to at least talk back to Thane.

"T-Two years ago? But why—"

"It took years for me to find you because I didn't realize that someone was brave enough to alter time. I thought I didn't die that day so I was planning again to kill myself. But I tried everything and it didn't work. A month ago, a witch told me that she sensed a crack in time. I thought it was nothing but still asked her to investigate further. That's when she found out about what you did. Shouldn't you know about it since you're the one who did it?"

Elisia didn't answer. She didn't really realize that she went too far. When she used her powers, she fell unconscious again and woke up at the hospital. No one actually told her that three months had passed. She didn't even care about what year it was.

Thane couldn't believe that the power to control and manipulate time was inherited by the woman beside her. He could sense that she wasn't as strong as Athanasia. He also couldn't feel something special towards her.

Most demons have hidden powers. As a werewolf king, one of his abilities was to smell a strong power inside someone. But he couldn't smell anything towards Elisia. She didn't even know that she reminded everything for two years or maybe more.

He shook his head while touching his temple. He felt his mind would break and he would lose control. He needed to calm down so he asked the driver to stop in the middle of nowhere.

Elisia's eyes widened. She looked around and didn't see anything. No one was around, no cars, no houses, nothing. It was just a road surrounded by trees and land.

She saw Thane get out of the car so she followed to confront him.

"What are you planning to do with me? Are you going to kill me and leave my body here to rot? You won't get anything if you kill me. You said you will give me a year then you'll let me go. My sister knows that I'm with you. If she didn't hear from me, you're dead! Do you hear me? You are dead!"

Thane wanted to shout. It was the first time he encountered a stubborn woman who never stopped whining.

"Will you shut up? I don't have plans to kill you. Not yet. But if you don't stop talking, I might lose patience and silence you forever."

Elisia was scared that Thane would really kill her. But she just couldn't accept defeat from the man who took her away from her husband.

"S-So you really wanted to kill me!"

"Yes. I've been wanting to kill you ever since I found out about you. I had plans, but you ruined everything!"

"Really? You had plans? And how can you have plans when you're already dead? I don't even care about your stupid plans! Technically, you are taking me by force, so this is kidnapping! I will report you and tell everyone how the werewolf king planned to kill himself!"

Thane snapped, hearing those words from Elisia. He tried his best not to lose his patience, but the demon princess pushed him to his limits.

Elisia saw Thane rushing towards her. He was surrounded by darkness. His eyes changed from black to red. It wasn't like Athanasia's. It was different. It was like the blood moon, and the last thing she remembered was seeing the sky turn black.
