"Wait, I just want to ask. What job did you mention in the text you sent?"
Dave smiled, he sat down in front of Sofia after he came back from the kitchen.
Before sitting down, Sofia immediately asked him.
It's been a while since Sofia was restless when Dave left her. She couldn't understand her nervousness but it was so strong that it was as if people were going back and forth and running.
She also saw a woman come down from upstairs. It was carrying a tray that looked like it had been some people finishing eating. But Sofia wondered why the woman was crying when Sofia noticed the tears in the woman's eyes even though her face was bowed when she was not looking at her.
Sofia's gaze followed the woman. She also noticed wiping tears from the woman's eyes with her hand. Before entering the kitchen.
Just a few minutes passed. Dave, on the other hand, was the one he saw coming out of the kitchen.
She guessed the door where Dave had entered and exited was the kitchen door.
Dave is also holding in both hands a tray that Sofia thinks there is something to eat.
Her stomach swelled with the smell of food from what Dave was carrying.
Honestly, she hadn't even eaten before she came to the place where Dave told her.
Sofia felt starving while in traffic on the long drive as she headed to the address Dave said.
Sofia's eyes followed the landing of the tray Dave was holding. Until one by one the food inside of the tray Dave was carrying was placed in front of her.
"Eat first. I think you are hungry for the length of the trip." Dave said.
"I'm sorry, that I text you to come here," Dave said again, while not looking at Sofia's face.
"It's okay, but what is the job you mentioned before? In your text." Sofia asked again, restraining herself from picking up the food in front of her with her hands.
She was appetizing and salivating at the pasta in front of her. Especially since her eyes just think it looks so delicious.
The bacteria inside her are panicking. Her pet's large intestines in her body are also hungry. That's why she's ashamed of Dave who has now turned his gaze to her while she feels she is melting because of Daves's eyes.
"We should have met there, the place I mentioned first in the text," Dave said as he put down the saucer and small teaspoon in front of Sofia.
Sofia stared at Dave's face, her gaze penetrating the food in front of her.
This is how generous Dave is with his charisma. Confused the whole spirit that I have in the body.
Because of him, I could not control the speed of my chest pulse.
Dave was annoying as if he didn't know he was messing with my whole soul as he looked at me like this.
He is driving me crazy.
Did he mean to do this to me while he seemed glad to see how much I was having a hard time now that my chest was pounding even harder because of him?
He is annoying.
"Personal Nanny?" Dave didn't seem sure of what he said. He smiled as he raised his hand and held it to his head.
"Sofia, that's why I'm sending you here. I wanted to ask you if it's okay with you to take you as my friend's maid?" Dave seriously said. "He needs a nanny who always assists him and takes care of him whenever I'm not here or can't visit him," Dave said again in the same reaction while looking at Sofia.
Sofia thought. She wanted to back off... But she already spent the money she received from Dave sent to her bank account.
How else could she back down now that she had already spent the money that came from Dave?
She has already paid all the hospital bills and if there is any left in her bank account. That was not enough for her to give back to Dave.
"Why didn't you tell me right away?"
"I thought maybe you might step back once I tell you from the start," Dave said directly. "I know you can refuse. I thought that, Sofia..."
"Is that why you sent me more money than I need in my bank account?" She continued as she interrupted Dave's explanation.
"Not like that Sofia. I am sorry for what I did that I didn't think you might as well be angry with me. I just want to help you, your mom, and also my friend. That's why I chose you..." Dave's statement was broken as he looked at Sofia seriously and couldn't take his eyes off. He was begging and hoping that Sofia would agree.
"Don't worry if the money I sent you is still not enough. I am willing to add more. I just really need your help." Dave took a deep breath and continued.
"Sofia, all I want is, could work without worry and thinking because someone would look at my friend while I was away. Except for that, I won't request anything except what I had already said. Just give me the time. I want to help him get back to normal." Dave said.
"Right now I can't tell you everything. But one day I'll tell you all why I want to help my friend. And with your help, I can finish it sooner and I can do it without worrying. That he might still not be eating on time, or, maybe he neglects himself while I'm away. Those are the things I often worry about whenever I'm not here." Dave said again he slowly shared with Sofia the reason he wanted to get her as Peterson's maid.
Sofia thinks carefully. She couldn't even understand what Dave was saying. But she was moved by his desire to help his friend with something she also did not understand.
"Okay, Dave. I don't even understand what you're saying. But okay, I'm ready to accept. The money you gave was enough and it helped my mom a lot with her operation." Sofia replied with Dave's face brightening.
Dave even stood up in his seat to approach Sofia.
"Thank you," Dave said to Sofia, full of joy. He smiled as he squeezed Sofia's hand which he held with joy when Sofia agreed.
"Your welcome," Sofia replied to Dave. "Thank you for the money you gave." Once again Sofia also thanked without any objection to Dave's offer.
"Now I'll introduce you to him." Dave was excited, he said to Sofia.
Moments later Dave disappeared. He walked up to the top of the house to go to his friend to say that she had agreed to be his maid.
Dave was so excited Sofia noticed.
Dave had something to tell her before he went up to his friend's room.
Dave said if they walked up to the top, don't pay attention to what she heard or saw Peterson.
Dave said to Sofia again she had to be patient. She would have persevered with his friend, especially in its habit that Sofia would witness and see.
Sofia was suddenly nervous.
What attitude does Dave's friend have?
Why is he begging like that? If possible I will always understand his friend just in case he has something bad to say or in case he has a hot temper, I will just ignore and understand his situation. Why is it?
Is his friend's behavior really bad?
Sofia thought.
Did the woman come from the room the man called Peterson? The one crying? Sofia asked herself as she waited for Dave to return.
She was even more nervous when she agreed to Dave's request. She shouldn't have just agreed so that she doesn't think like it now.
She seemed to be guessing as she sat down and she had already finished the food Dave had given her.
