Prophecy and Portal

EVIE

They were already in Valethea, the island where she first woke up. Evie thought they were going to search for the exact location where she found herself sleeping with the King.

But to her surprise, they landed spot on. She was sure as she saw the trees, and there were vines ribboned around some branches.

She made them while she was making her improvised bikini so that she could have a landmark.

"What made you say that?" his head bobbed to his side.

He was asking about her request of not making her Yuka.

She didn't really mind flying Acyon to Valethea. In fact, she found it exciting.

But the King was suggesting a reward. So she just expressed herself honestly.

Evie straightened herself as she said what was bothering her. "I just keep hearing the word Yuka ever since we landed. Who is she, your Majesty?"

King Adamos seemed stuck for a few seconds before he spoke in a deep voice, "Hyouka is a woman in one of Edin's prophecies. It is said that she was the destined companion of the King in ruling Edin."

Evie's eyes went glazed as she scoffed at the idea of destiny. But she kept it to herself and allowed the King to speak while fidgeting with a branch that she was holding.

"According to the prophecy, a woman will be birthed by the sky -"

With that, Evie's fingers stopped twitching the branch.

'It seemed like there was a reason for them to think of me that way. I fell from the sky. But Joyce, too. Maybe it was her. But I woke up naked, unlike her -' her heart thumped a little faster than normal.

Fortunately, she has already removed the corset that she was wearing a while ago, hoping the dress was thick enough not to tear with her size during their travel.

"She will produce seeds for the Crown she was tied -" King Adamos continued to share.

Evie's throat suddenly got parched, making her gulp a lump in her throat. Her hand flew to the bark they were sitting at, pulled herself up slowly, and distanced himself from the King.

"With her existence, Edin will rise -"

'There is no more rising needed for Edin because it is already the highest country in the world, literally -' Evie reassured herself.

King Adamos was about to continue on when he deliberately stopped and smiled at her, "But that is just a myth, my lady. And you are already going back to your homeland. There is nothing to be anxious about."

Hearing him say that made Evie heaved out a sigh of relief.

Just then, two figures appeared in the sky

"Evie! We're here!" Joyce was waving her hand wildly in the air.

Evie has an inkling that the Duke of Athesus would assist her. But not the Duke of Thurelis, who was waving at them, too, with a huge grin on his face.

As they landed, Joyce ran to her and knelt down with a sobbing look. "I'm sorry, I shouldn't have said that."

Evie's eyes widened in surprise. She has already forgotten about that incident.

It just made her uncomfortable at that moment. But that's not something that would affect her day.

She immediately pulled her up and shook her head. "It's nothing. Don't bother."

Joyce's face lifted as she jumped up and down with glee. "Really? I thought you were going to ignore me forever!"

She put her arms around her and squeezed her tight, making her cough.

Seeing their reconciliation must be a joyful sight for the Duke of Thurelis that he laughed aloud and lifted his hand in the air, "Cheers to friendship!"

The Duke of Athesus was also smiling tepidly while the King's eyebrows were knitted together, figuring out what was going on.

He cleared his throat and put his arms on his waist. "Since everyone is already gathered, let us assess how the two women can go back to their land."

All of them nodded their heads in agreement.

Evie looked up at the sky as she thought about how that hole could open up again.

"Could it be a wormhole? Or a time machine portal?" Joyce lifted her hand before her finger flew to her parted lips.

Evie has read about black holes where not even light can escape their gravitational grip. It is said that it has a dramatic effect on time, slowing it down far more than anything else in the galaxy.

'But it's just a theory. It is not possible,' Evie concluded.

"I have never seen a portal open in centuries," King Adamos commented as he rubbed his chin, making Evie even more confused.

'Maybe he was talking about the history of Edin through books. There is no way he could have seen Edin for centuries,' Evie thought as she gazed at the King intently.

His hair was as dark as a starless sky. His face is as smooth as a baby's bottom. His built is as strong and proud as a skyscraper in the center of a metropolis.

There is no trace of an aged life.

"If it is true, that could create chaos in Edin," the Duke of Athesus muttered with a grim look on his face.

"Or it could be fun," the Duke of Thurelis' face brightened with his palms in front of him, together.

"Or it could not be a portal at all," Evie muttered, making King Adamos nod his head.

"Let's see what we can do." He ended the speculation as he lifted his scepter in the air.

Evie's pupils dilated as she saw that familiar scenario. That was what King Adamos did when the wind took leaves from the trees and pasted them on their naked bodies!

But this time, he was pointing at the sky and seemed to be directing the winds in that direction.

All the winds from the north, south, east, and west seemed to gather towards that location, swooping between all of them.

At the speed of light, Joyce grabbed Evie's arms like she was holding on to dear life.

The two dukes stood motionless as if what the King is doing is just a natural phenomenon to them.
