Universal Coins

After the interesting encounter Zoom went to nearby shops being rented and run by adventurers, normal residents or entrepreneurs.

'That was an interesting encounter, why would he help me? Is their something that makes me stand out? No... I'll forget it for now, first objective is to loot as much as I can.'

'I should have not taken off my mask, people might think I have somekind of relationship with him, it might become troublesome, I'll lay low for now and let things flow while I see if there's any problem that might occur.' Zoom wore a mask he had looted before.

Zoom looked over and passed through a few shops, he checked the variety of items and their average value.

He approached and entered one of the many shops, the person running the place was a young lady, she looked to be around eighteen to twenty, she had long black hair and crimson red eyes.

She had a fit body and she was clothed in leather armour.

'If I take out the cores and carcasses without a storage ring will they question me? Hmm... It's better to be careful, I should by a ring here.' Zoom hid both his hands on his two front pockets before telling the system in his mind to retrieve monster cores from his inventory to his hands, the process was a bit slower since he had to manually tell the system step by step.

Beast cores were used as ingredients for weapons, armour and accessories, cores enhance the weapons by a large margin, with the influx of players and more adventurers while veterans continue to lose or break their equipment, these cores are selling like hotcakes.

'There.' After retrieving the cores he soon walked to the counter.

The store area was large, fifty by fifty meters, shelves were filled with cores, weapons, armour, artifacts, and accessories.

He approached the lady and asked.

"How much for these cores?" From his pocket Zoom pulled out the handful of cores he had looted, the ones he had on hand were little compared to how many he truly had.

He place these cores in the counter, the clerk had her brows raised.

'Another supply of cores! Wonderful!'

There were a total of one hundred cores that were the size of a bean, the energy they emanate isn't very strong because they came from beasts ranging from level two to eighteen, Zoom didn't dare to sell his higher level ones, he hasn't known much about this world and didn't want to raise much attention.

You would ask, they're just NPCs who cares what they think!

What this game had that differed it from other virtual game is it's realisticness very much comparable to the real world.

These NPCs could still think and reason, they might hinder his growth if he showed himself as a target.

Another reason is because he thought of letting a crafter craft weapons and armour for him from these cores.

"Let me take a look first." One by one the clerk took a look at each core carefully measuring their value.

"Fifty thousand Universal Coins." She said, Zoom had a had one of his brows raised in confusion, she noticed this and said.

"The would normally cost forty-eight thousand but I rounded it up, it's a steal if you ask me." She leaned on the counter with her head resting on her arm, with a confident smile she spoke.

'From what I heard cores were in demand right now, especially since a large influx of players came pouring down, players are mostly spending all their initial money on better weapons and armour, players probably wouldn't have obtained that many cores right now since it's early, I should be able to increase the price a little.'

"Fifty-two thousand." He spoke, it didn't seem much but for new players, it would take an hour two or three to obtain a thousand Universal Coins.

The clerk raised her eyebrows in shock and grinned.

"You probably heard people saying cores were in high demand right now, is that why you were confident in raising it's price?" She said in a playful tone.

"A large influx of people appeared in the city, the demand in weapons and armour must be soaring by now, I don't think you'll lose out even if I add two thousand, right?" Zoom said.

The clerk shook her head before moving her hand forward.

"Deal." She said, Zoom shook her hand before they processed the exchange, Zoom chose to receive the coins physically rather than virtually since he didn't have a virtual device yet in the game.

Zoom received a pouch of fifty-two red coins, each coin was valued at one thousand Universal Coins, grey was valued at one, yellow at one hundred, blue at ten thousand while purple was valued at one hundred thousand.

Before he left he had bought four tier two storage ring costing twenty thousand Universal coins. Curiously he also asked what these coins were made of, the answer he received shocked him.

"These coins are made of beast essences, by absorbing them through a technique you can grow stronger, the techniques are abundant but the low tiered ones which are most common are too slow, by the way if you want to contact me for any transactions here's my profile in the virtual community." The clerk said, this stunned him.

'Interesting, would the essences be turned to stat points? Or will they simple strengthen your body like the NPCs?'

He had also asked where can he obtain beast essences, apparently they can only be obtained by killing beasts that are level thirty and above.

After leaving the trading centre he walked over to the guilds association where his sister Ciel was impatiently waiting for him.

With his hover board he arrived at the guilds association main building in the city, it was five stories tall and half the size of the trading centre but was equally crowded.

Entering the building wasn't as strict as the trading centre but countless powerful auras were around and much more heavily armoured, their weapons were unsheathed and in full view of everyone.
