Ch 4| Relations

-- 3rd person POV --

Floor 28 was made with the purpose of making it Arthur's lovely abode while he stayed in Mexico. There was a rooftop garden with a jacuzzi, with only a few people with access there, like his family, his best friend and his best commander, Anthony Wright.

The floor is usually quiet, because Arthur hardly stayed there, alas what a waste of space and money. But who cared afterall? Arthur didn't.

Arthur swung open the door, marching inside he settled down in the comfort of his favourite chair in his very own office. Until he had taken a deep breath, he didn't acknowledge the person sitting behind the desk.

"Tony." He said looking at the Hispanic man sitting in front of him. He was young, but good at his job.

"Chief." Tony greeted him, moving forward to switch on the desk lamp. His lips pulled in a straight line, he was as serious as my high school history teacher, but it was a usual thing.

Tony was a man of few words. He didn't smile, because when he did smile, someone's death note was written.

"From now on, you'll be taking up the charge of security team for your future Queen's safety. Got it?"

Tony nodded, Arthur continued further.

"I'm also assigning you as her personal bodyguard 24x7. She is important for me, so she is important for you as well. She must be protected at all costs, do you understand me, Tony?" Arthur looked dead serious, and Tony knew from that very expression the consequences if any harm comes to the girl.

He nodded as a dutiful soldier to his master. But that does not mean his curiosity was vanquished. Arthur, was a man who should not be messed with. His way of doing things hardly anyone could figure out, but he did all of them just perfect.

Of the two brothers, Bishop was more collected and serious one, whereas Arthur had always been the life of the party, if anyone didn't know him would take him as a happy go lucky, bachelor billionaire. There was hardly a time Arthur got really really serious, his smile was the silent before the storm, people who knew him, knew what to watch out for.

You never know when he is planning a murder or just simply smiling. Because even his smile was enough to instil fear in people, then imagine when if he stopped smiling.

So Arthur getting serious now, must mean something.

Tony quietly got up and left the room, taking it as a dismissal, but lost in the thoughts of why..

*Clara's POV*

After slamming my fist on the mattress for a good few minutes, I got up feeling my heart calm down a little. I wonder who said violence is not the answer.

Knowing that Arthur would be gone, and I have the place to myself for however long it takes him.

I decided to ring my best friend.

He picked up after a few rings, I could hear his laboured breathing, it made me scrunch my nose.

"Hello? Who is this?" He said sounding impatient.

"Quit it, C. Not now please." I pinched the bridge of my nose.

"Oh hey, sorry I didn't say the name." he sounded surprised.

"Well, next time you pick up a call check the name."

"Okay, Clara. What's gotten you so snappy?"

Sighing, I told him everything that happened. He kept me going and b*tch even had the indecency to laugh at me.

"I'm going to strangle you Corbin, if you don't stop laughing this instant!" I threatened and after a few seconds of hiccuping he stopped but I could still feel the smile when he spoke.

"Okay okay. Look I've to go rn, but one last question. When are you coming to see us? Even Rody came back yesterday."

I almost dropped my phone, "She-she did? She didn't tell me- Don't worry I'll meet you the first I return back." Rody Jones, our other best friend had been out of state, for a few years now. She was pursuing her dreams which I'd rather not disclose, because then where would be the fun of having to figure it out. And trust me, with a personality like hers, you could never guess.
