Chapter 12

" This is amazing "

I took a cupcake and munched on it. I never expected a treat like this would be this time. So yummy, in my previous life I always had this kind of treat on my birthday. However, after my hospitalization everything went south.  All these foods taste new to me, it's like I'm trying them for the first time. I guess it's natural seeing as I have new taste buds and all. 

Hmph.

I started choking and quietly drank a cup of tea to wash it down which I didn't know was hot and accidentally burned my tongue. 

" Careful "

Denziel handed me a glass of water ,I took it from him and guzzled it down quickly. 

" Thanks "

" Your welcome "

Damn, what's with this guy, he's been smiling and staring at me for quite some time now. Am I that beautiful ? Is my beauty considered a rarity in this world ?

" Don't you have work to do? " I ask. 

" No, not really "

" Hmm? "

I sensed an evil gaze on me again and looked at the crowd that was walking by us. The stalker is crafty, bending in with the crowd to hide his presence. 

" Can we leave now? " I ask. 

" Sure "

We got up and left the cafe. During the time we were walking I kept looking behind me, every since I got here someone as been looking at me from the shadows. 

" Oh my look at that "

" They look cute together "

" If the girl's a few years older or the boy was a few years younger they would make a great couple "

I was getting irritated by the comments these people were saying, it hurts both mentally and physically. 

" People are just talking pay no heed to them " Denziel said. 

" Pay no need?  This is all your fault "

" My fault ? " I ask.

" Why do you keep coming around me ? Do I have something for you or is it because I'm a pretty girl you keep showing up "

" It's not like that Roselina "

" Don't call me by my name, I did not "

BUDUMP. 

Another irregular heartbeat forced me on my knees.

" No this is too soon " I said I clenched my heart tightly 

" Roselina, are you alright ? "

" Stayback "

I pushed Denziel away, got up and ran into a back alley as fast as I could, it felt like I was having a heart attack. I bit down on my hand as hard as I could and drank my blood. Slowly but surely, my heart calmed down and beat normally again. I leaned against the wall and breathed slowly. 

" How long do I have to do this? " I ask myself.

The more I resist drinking blood the more painful it becomes for me. I return to Denziel who stood there waiting for me. 

" Roselina, is something wrong, what's the matter with your hand? "

" It's nothing "

I hid my hand away from denziel. 

" Could you take me home please? " I ask. 

" Sure "

Later that night as I slept in my bed I woke up to the smell of smoke. 

" Fire... What's going on? 

I can hear laughing and shouting. I ran to Mary's room but It turned out she wasn't there. I checked the basement and she wasn't there either, 

" Mary....Mary, where are you ? " I called out, I ran outside and saw that some of the villager's houses were on fire. 

Damn, what's going on? this flame isn't natural, it's a set up. 

" Hey.. "

I called out to a villager but he wasn't responding to me, he was busy focusing on getting water to the fire? 

" Have you seen Mary ?... Hey "

He walked away before I could ask him. I looked around through the village and couldn't find her. 

" MARY WHERE ARE YOU? " I shouted. 

" Huh..."

I got a faint smell of blood mixed amongst the smoke. 

" Oh no, don't tell me that "

I took off in that direction. 

.....

Without knowing what happened Mary was gagged and kidnapped in her own home . Her kidnappers were 7 bandits on horseback. 

" You idiot ! .. Why didn't you get the other one? " Shout the rider behind the leader. 

" What other one? "

" You idiot... there was two girls inside that house "

" Relax " Said the leader that was riding ahead of them all. 

" Your sources are never wrong.. She'll come looking for us "He said with a smile. 

" And when we do ?.. We can have some real fun "

" Boss.. Behind us " Said a rear rider. They turned around to find that Roselina was right on their tail. Her eyes glowed as she run through the forest like a ninja 

"What the hell ! .. How did she manage to catch us quickly? " Ask the leader. 

Roselina jumped into the air and landed foot first on the ride who was carrying Mary kicking him off the horse back . She grabbed Mary and took off into the forest. 

" Damn it.. After her ! "

They turned and ran into  the forest after her.

Faster ! Faster !

Why am I getting slower? when I came to this world I was much faster than this.  I maneuver through the tree as I run from the bandits. This is not good, this is seriously not good. 

" Mary are you alright? " I ask. 

" I'm * Cough Cough * ...I'm alright "

Even in times like this she's still smiling. 

I looked behind me as we ran. They seem to be catching up to us. I took a sharp left turn and hid behind a rock.Their horses stride passed us, I took a peek and realized they were gone. 

" Haaaaa...They're gone "  I took a breath of relief. 

" Your hair, It's getting dirty.. " Mary stated. 

" Damn ! Are you seriously worrying about my hair at a time like this ? "

" Sorry "

" At any rate, who should leave before they... "

" Found you "

" Huh ? "

I look over my head only to see a blade coming at me. Luckily I dodged but I stumbled down a small hill. 

" Roselina ! " Mary calls out my name.

I held her tight in my arms as we rolled down the hill and I dislocated my right shoulder. 

" Gyaaaaaahh "

Damn it's painful. 

We came to a complete stop.

" Roselina !  "
