Annihilation!

The potion that I had just drunk was a calm potion. At least that is what I called it in the novel due to my terrible sense of naming. A calm potion did exactly what it what you thought it would do. It calmed you down. To me this potion was going to be the most useful object in my possession. Until I had managed to finish my objective and reach my goal this potion was indispensable.

This was one of the few potions I had found in Damiens drawers. I was able to recognize it due to it's colour. Different colour potions reflect what they affect. Any potion that affected the mind was always blue. Any potion that affected the soul was purple, any potion that affected physical strength whether it was increasing it or decreasing it, it was orange.

Green meant that the potion would affect speed, gold affected durability and silver affected any special ability you had. Lastly brown affected senses.

I brought out three more potions. They were green, silver and gold and brown. If I was to suffer a stampede of wild blood horses then this is the what I would need at the very least.

"I'm ready, I said." My voice was clear and confident and I could already feel the effects of the five potions I had taken. If this is what enlightenment felt like then i would not mind staying like this forever. Not a single wandering thought entered my mind. My body was overflowing with energy. I felt like I could do anything.

I had not even noticed that I had gained some body fat and slight muscle until I took a step. I could feel everything. I did not know how to describe this feeling.I was one with my body. I could feel the oxygen entering my body and the carbon dioxide leaving. I could feel my blood circulating around my body. Even the wind that slapped my near bald head felt different.

I took of sprinting heading west. Although I was running at an extremely fast pace I could control my body easily. It was as if time had slowed down for me so that I could turn and move around the trees easily.

Something felt amiss, It felt like an hour had passed very quickly without me noticing. I knew that only less than a minute had passed by but still it was weird.

I reached the field where I brandished the assault shotgun I had been given by Aliza.

Blood horses. I could see why they were called that. They had bright red skin, mane's, tails and even hooves. They also had several stripes of dark red on their body which created this red with red stripes image. It was fascinating seeing such things but I did not get distracted, courtesy of the mind pill.

From what Eric and Aliza told me, blood horses were similar to rhinos. Terrible eyesight in the wild would make anything that moves an enemy.

I aimed the aimed the shotgun at one of the blood horses and pulled the trigger. A loud bang came from the gun. There was small recoil which was good for me. I could see why Aliza said it was good for noobs. I pulled the trigger several times each time hitting a different blood horse from the other.

The assault shotgun did damage enough to knock them back but not kill them. I couldn't tell whether the assault shotgun was weak or they just had sturdy skin.

Loud neighing and weird horse noises filled the air. I continued shooting at the ones whose attention I did not have although a huge number had turned their attention to me and were charging at me. Only when I felt like I was in danger did I turn my back around and fled.

I ran back into the forest and moved around the trees with zero effort. Anytime I felt like I would lose them I would wait for them and shoot a couple bullets at them. If I was to speak in game terms then I would say that I was kiting them and maintaining their aggro.

The herd of horses stamped on the grass and destroyed whatever little vegetation was on the ground. The herbs, the weeds, the bushes and the small flowers were destroyed.

As I ran I felt like these blood horses were dumb. If you thought about it what kind of animal chased it's aggressor. I never understood that. If I was back on earth and I had used a shotgun to shoot several lions to death then the entire pride would definitely not stick and run away. So why was it that they chased me? They couldn't even see me. They could only see my outline, at least that is what I think they could.

I reached the checkpoint that I was supposed to reach. I quickly jumped up and climbed onto a tree.

The blood horses did not stop their stampede which was why they tripped over the several 7 inch thick ropes that were placed all over the trees. The blood horses stumbled tripping over each other.

BANG!

WHIZZZ!

BANG!

WHIZZZ!

BANG!

BANG!

WHIZZZ!

I watched in amazement as the blood horses fell down to the ground with either a bullet hole in between their eyes or an arrow in their throat.

It was a spectacle to see. It was even more amazing than seeing a meteor shower in my opinion.

Despite their body count reaching 100 the blood horses did not stop. They tried standing up but were quickly put down by a bullet or an arrow. I could tell that the firing speed had increased greatly. Since my mind was clear I noticed that the 2 bangs every second quickly changed to four. The number of arrows also increased. Every once in a while several blood horses dropped dead with a single arrow or bullet.

I did not want to admit this but this Carlton guy was really insane. His accuracy matched that of the legends. He was Robin Hood in the modern world if he was egotistical. I had to even admit that I was jealous of him. Jealous or not, I had to admit he worked hard to reach such a point.

One day I would reach such heights. I know I will but before that, I must make sure that I survive.

Time passed and the whizzing of arrows and bangs of guns died down until it stopped completely.

I looked down at the massacre from atop the tree. It wasn't even a massacre. It was an annihilation. A one sided annihilation.

It was time for my plan to kick in.
