Kenshin's P.O.V:
Amaya agreed to stay up late with me. We talk so randomly about things we do after we parted ways. We even talk about our colleagues at work. Well, most of the talk is from her because she was the one who always interacted with her colleagues. "I don't have much to say about colleagues because I don't hang out with them often. But I also do have some working experience before I become a boss." I admitted to her. It is really fun to talk to her because she has a humor I am finding in a girl. "You do have working experience?" Amaya asked me. "Yes, I worked in a convenience store as a cashier in my early days," I told her one of my secrets.
"Really? I thought you grew up with a gold spoon. Did you just work in a store to have fun?" Amaya asked and I laugh. "No, I wish I could just work for fun but no," I told her. "Oh? Would you mind if you share your experience with me?" Amaya become interested and I find it so cute. "Well, I came from a not-so-rich but not-so-poor family. I am an only son and I actually should just focus on studying but there is this special friend to me that I wanted to help and I work so I could support her because my allowance is not enough to help her." I remember that lady. That one I will never forget. "That moment I had a part-time job I realize that earning money is not easy," I told her.
"That very moment I got my first salary was very fulfilling and I was on cloud nine because I thought that money will be enough. But I was wrong." I said and remember her dying face. I was late, I couldn't save her. "Hey, It's alright Ken, What's important is you did your best." Amaya comforts me. I heard that so many times but I still blame myself. "Where is she now? I am sure she made it too like you." Amaya said and it pierce through my heart. How I wish she also made up to here? Amaya only made me miss her. If she ever made it to the top here I should be hugging her right now and I won't be this lost.
"She didn't make it," I told her and I heard her gasp on the other hand. "I'm sorry, I didn't mean to offend you." Amaya apologizes and I can feel her tense. "Hey, It's fine I felt like it is okay to talk about her. For the first time, I felt alright talking about her." I calm her down. With Amaya, I think it is alight if I told her what I truly feel. "I still feel that I become rude to you. That is so disrespectful of me." Amaya politely apologizes again. "Why are so formal and very apologetic about things? You are too kind and it will be bad for you." I said and she laughs. "What so bad about being kind?" Amaya asked and I remember what that lady told me. 'Being nice might kill you, Kenshin. People will take advantage of you if you are too kind.' that lady told me.
"Too much kindness kills, Amaya," I answered her. "I will take that as advice from you." She seriously said and we become silent. We both are waiting for who will do the first move of talking again and as I am always impatient I did the move. "It is such a great night to have this kind of late-night talk Amaya," I whispered and she was not talking anymore. I slowly heard her small breathing indicating she had already fallen asleep. "Amaya?" I asked and I heard her response with a hum. How cute. I didn't drop the call and just stare at the ceiling. Why? Why did you fall asleep My Dear Amaya? I still want to ask you more. About your day, about the next day, and how you feel.
I close my eye and I saw her figure clearly as I can clearly paint her. It's almost morning but I still want more. I don't mind waiting when will you to talk to me again, I can't sleep by the way. I heard her cute voice again on the phone so I picked it up. "Amaya?" I asked excitedly and I heard her deep sigh. "It was such a good night Kenshin." She said in her sexiest voice and her breathing gets heavy, and she again fall asleep. Will you call me once again? Call my name again, Amaya. "Give me a call tomorrow. I want my good morning coming from you." With that last word, I give her. her privacy and end the call.
I sigh and look at the ceiling again as I already drop the call. "Why will you ever give me the habit of calling you at night? Hmm, Amaya?" I asked as if I am talking to her. Yes, right. Just let me call you all night. I wanted to hear your voice more often. Make me feel warm and excited. Just let me learn to express my feelings until I have the courage to tell you the feeling I wanted to say.
I love you.
Morning:
Kenshin woke up from the ring on his phone it was the first time someone dare to call him this early. The first time that he wakes up not because of his alarm clock. He quickly get his phone when he sees whose the caller was and looks for his son who is peacefully sleeping. He took a deep breath and answered. "Good morning," Amaya greeted him with a happy tone. Her energy was enough to send a tingling sensation to Kenshin's heart. How can you make him this happy this morning Amaya?
"Good morning." Kenshin greeted back with his bedroom voice. "Did I woke you up?" Amaya worriedly asked him and he laughs. How sexy you can get Kenshin? "No, Your call was just right when I opened my eyes." Kenshin lies and Amaya let out an awkward laugh. "I was worried that I disturb your sleep. Breakfast?" Amaya asked and she makes Kenshin smile with that caring question. "I will cook first. How about you?" Kenshin asked almost in a whisper. "I am already eating. I have to get a cab early so I will arrive in time for work." Amaya explains. "I see. See you at the office?" Kenshin asked and the lady on the other line can't keep her smile now. "Yes, sure. See you later." Amaya answered and the morning was filled with romance.
