CHAPTER 1 REBORN

The clock struck 12:43 AM, and Sam remembered his father's stern expression if he caught him using his mobile late at night. Reluctantly, he switched off his phone and Wi-Fi with a lazy swipe of his big toe, lying on the floor. He didn't want to face his father's anger the next day, so he dragged himself back to bed and tried to fall asleep.

In the third-person perspective, before Sam could finish his thought, he drifted off to sleep. It was no surprise, given his lazy nature. Hours passed, and suddenly, he experienced his third heart attack. Yes, it wasn't the first time. He had survived two previous episodes but kept it a secret from his family to avoid causing them more worry.

Now, in the present, his soul found itself in a pitch-black void. Hours passed, and he remained in that space. More hours went by, and still, he found himself trapped. Even after eight hours, his soul was stuck in the darkness, and irritatingly enough, he was still asleep. For a total of 16 hours, he was awake for only two hours and unconscious for the remaining 14. How could someone so lazy manage to stay alive? No, perhaps he was already dead. How could someone so lazy even exist?

Finally, he slowly woke up. Sam struggled to open his eyes fully, as the bright light blinded him. Realizing he was in a hospital room, he noticed a lady doctor, a woman lying in a bed, and a young man standing nearby.

In Sam's perspective, he felt the need to shield his eyes from the blinding light.

Sam: (I'm still so sleepy. Could someone close the curtains? Ugh, I guess I'll have to do it myself.)

Opening his eyes, he was taken aback. Who was this woman? She seemed enormous! How could she carry a sixteen-year-old boy like himself? But that didn't matter now. He had more pressing questions. Why was he in her arms, and who were these people? Why was he here?

The doctor handed the baby (Sam) to the woman, and as she cradled him in her lap and gazed at his face, she smiled and named him Sam Zoldyck. The young man beside her also shared a smile.

Sam: (What's going on? You're going to drop me! Nooo! And who is this woman? She feels strangely familiar...)

And just like that, Sam fell asleep once again. This time, it wasn't his fault. After all, he was just a baby, lacking the energy to stay awake. As everyone in the room looked at the adorable sight of the sleeping baby, they couldn't help but smile.
