"He stopped the car," Wolf said, following the armored vehicle as it slowly came to a halt in front of a convenience store. Not far away, the vehicle parked in front of a hotel.
Jiang Shu read out the hotel's name, "Seksi Chain Hotel."
The driver's door of the armored car opened, and a burly man emerged and leaned against the side of the vehicle, motionless, with his eyes closed.
"Is he... waiting for someone?" Wolf sounded unsure.
Jiang Shu activated the Xiao Jia and zoomed the camera to its maximum. The effect was practically like sticking the lens onto the burly man's face. Consequently, he saw that the man's tightly shut eyes were glowing, and his fingers were rhythmically tapping on his thigh.
Xiao Jia: The first telescope for young people.
"His eyes are glowing," Jiang Shu relayed what he saw to Wolf, "and his fingers are moving."
Wolf understood, "He's using a prosthetic eye. He's probably sending a message."
Through the Xiao Jia telescope, Jiang Shu saw two other similarly burly figures emerge from the shadows, "They're coming."
"This is…" With Wolf's eyesight, he could also clearly see the scene and was even more stunned as he exclaimed, "Three Hercules? What are they planning to do?"
"Three? Can you take them on?" Jiang Shu asked, as it was essential to determine if they should keep following or if it was an exercise in futility.
"One is manageable, but three…," Wolf stopped there, as the answer was rather obvious.
However, before he could finish, someone else chimed in for him.
Xiao Yi: "Are you opening the way yo~"
Wolf: "???"
Confident in handling one himself, after all, the police were among the toughest in the Social Sequence, but three was a different story, emmm, what on earth is the Violent Terror Mobile Team for?!
"Uh…" Jiang Shu naturally recognized the popular meme from Jojo, thankfully, in this world, there was no Jojo.
The three strong men didn't communicate with each other but simply nodded and then entered the hotel together.
"Follow them," Wolf gestured and quickly followed suit.
"…" Having no other choice, despite truly being scared, Jiang Shu couldn't leave Wolf behind, especially since Wolf had once protected him during a bank robbery.
Feeling somewhat reassured by patting the small knife he had sneakily taken from the passenger seat when they got out of the car, Jiang Shu proceeded.
Surely, a knife to the head of a Disciple's shadow would be lethal, right?
"Xiao Jia and Xiao Yi, follow them and stay on alert; Xiao Bing and Xiao Ding, try to take over the surveillance of the nearby area and the hotel," Jiang Shu ordered.
Sister Ru had installed simple hacking programs in all four of them, and if it wasn't a secret, Xiao Jia, Xiao Yi, Xiao Bing, and Xiao Ding could easily infiltrate related security protocols in a coordinated fashion.
Wolf also heard Jiang Shu's commands, but he wasn't the type to fuss over such things and didn't say much.
The two of them hung back, watching the trio enter the hotel. Wolf also started to panic a bit, "What are they doing entering the hotel? Don't stir up trouble in a place like this, idiots!"
It would take some time to mobilize the Violent Terror Mobile Team, and right now, the two of them definitely couldn't just charge in head-on.
"Hello? Seksi Hotel on Rue de Lys? This is Wolf, badge number TC12138," Jiang Shu made a snap decision and called the hotel's front desk after locating the number online.
"There are three heavily modified gang members who have entered your hotel. Please remain calm; they are not interested in you. As long as things proceed normally, there won't be any attack."
"Please inform the guests that a hotel safety inspection is about to begin, and no one should leave their rooms without authorization," he continued. "Also, do not attempt to involve hotel security, these three individuals are highly dangerous with combat capabilities reaching the Combat Sequence T2 standard."
The front desk on the other end nodded repeatedly, her voice trembling slightly, "I saw them, they've come in and are heading straight for the elevator."
"It's okay, please trust the Thirteen District Police Station." Jiang Shu's voice was calm, a calmness that also transmitted to the front desk lady.
"Understood."
Wolf gave him an approving look with his eyes.
"It doesn't look like an indiscriminate attack," Jiang Shu stroked his chin. "What are their targets, and why did they bring that armored transport here?"
To be honest, it all seemed quite... absurd.
"Seksi Hotel..." Wolf muttered the name, feeling an inexplicable sense of familiarity with it.
"Right!" he suddenly remembered something, scrolling through his wristwatch before abruptly looking up, "Damn, I've got it!"
Jiang Shu leaned over to look, and on the screen was a chat history, which appeared to be with Wolf's colleagues at the police station, and it mentioned that the Seventh Police Station's transport team had finished their report and were looking for a place to stay for the night before heading back the next day.
And that place was the Seksi Hotel!
"This is..." He was also quite shocked.
No way, their target is the transport team?
Like, seriously? Are they sick?
"Old Tang, the Disciples' target is the Seventh Police Station's transport team, they're planning to strike at the Seksi Hotel!" Wolf immediately dialed Tang Hexun's number, threw down those words and then hung up before rushing into the hotel.
"I'm Wolf." He approached the front desk and quickly flashed his credentials, then asked, "Where is the security room?"
"Over there!" The front desk pointed.
However, before Wolf could proceed, two white-haired men in their fifties, dressed in security uniforms and carrying shotguns with a bandolier of large ammunition on their belts, hurried over from that direction.
"Officer, is there anything we can help with?" The two elders were composed. "We're veterans of corporate wars with extensive combat experience."
For social reasons, the security industry often gives priority to retired veterans like them, offering easy work and decent pay.
"No way." Wolf refused without hesitation, snatching the shotgun from one of the men's hands and then taking the ammunition belt from his waist, "The days when you needed to fight are over, now all you need to do is peacefully enjoy your retirement."
Then, with a determined stride, he made for the elevator, leaving behind only an imposing figure.
Little Yi: "No way, no way, he doesn't think he's really cool, does he?"
"Well..." Overall, Jiang Shu thought the scene was actually pretty cool, as long as he could mute Little Yi...
Clearly, Wolf's silhouette stumbled momentarily, then his pace noticeably quickened.
Seeing this, Jiang Shu quickly took the shotgun offered by the other elderly security guard. Then, crouching low, he immediately tossed the gun to the ground and quickly followed Wolf.
What the heck, why is this thing so heavy, seeing how easily Wolf was handling it with one hand...
A: People's physical capabilities cannot be generalized.
B: I once, in extreme anger, took up a small knife.
C: When the mechanical disciples charged over, I slid tackled under one of them and used the knife to slice open his belly, mechanical parts scattering everywhere.
