Chapter 23 Disciple, lead the charge!

"Is the Disciple here?" Jiang Shu immediately looked at the monitors provided by Jin, Ding, Beta, and Alpha, and found that the muscular man was only two turns away from him.

"There you are!"

The muscular man appeared at the end of the corridor, a brutal and fierce smile emerging on his face.

Why come after me first? This doesn't make any sense at all!

While cursing, Jiang Shu immediately took off running.

The layout of the Seksi Hotel was peculiar, shaped like the character "回," but there were some small paths connecting the main thoroughfares, which were quite intricate. Jiang Shu specifically took these paths, barely managing to keep from being caught.

But the physical condition of the Disciple was evident, and even with Jin, Ding, Beta, and Alpha constantly guiding him, the distance between them kept closing.

My physical condition is still too poor, and I'll soon be caught. Jin, Ding, Beta, and Alpha can't hack their military-grade Prosthetic Eyes. Luckily, they don't have firearms, or they wouldn't have been chasing me this long.

However, after chasing me for so long, isn't it my turn now?

Jiang Shu's eyes fixed on the iron door of a distant emergency exit.

——

"Whew—" Wolf breathed out heavily as he pulled the Mantis Blade out of the mouth of the Disciple lying beneath him.

Thick dark red blood mingled with engine oil and gastric acid spurted out, staining the wall, soaking into the carpet, and spattering on Wolf's clothes, but he simply had no extra energy to dodge it.

Beta: Direct hit to the stomach.

"..." Wolf saw this comment flash across the screen and couldn't help but smirk wryly.

Luckily, Jiang Shu had left a tablet behind which, at a critical moment, suddenly emitted a bright light, disrupting the Disciple's vision and allowing him to deliver a fatal blow.

"Hercules's enhancement is terrifyingly powerful..." Wolf was also surprised, experiencing for the first time the military-grade level of Internal Armor, "Literally boosted a T4 level thug to a T2 combat ability."

Were it not for the guy's poor combat experience, just his reflexes and physical condition could have easily beaten him to death. The subdermal titanium Armor's protective capability was also incredibly annoying; even a close-range shotgun blast only managed to break some outer skin.

"Right, Jiang Shu! There's another one going after him!" Wolf snapped out of it, quickly stood up, and Beta very helpfully pointed him in the right direction.

Beta: =====>

——

This was one of the main corridors of the "回" shaped gallery, nearly a hundred meters long, extending from one end to the other.

At one end of the corridor, Jiang Shu was standing at the emergency exit, a large padlock stark on the door as he frantically tried to break it open with a wrench.

"Over here~" At the end of the corridor, a huge head peeked out, a cruel smile reminiscent of a cat catching a mouse appearing on his face.

"Damn, hurry... hurry!" Sweat was dripping from Jiang Shu's forehead; he quickly turned his head to look at the Disciple, seeing that he was still standing at the end of the corridor dropping some of his worry.

The Disciple's eyes measured the distance of the corridor, he slowly murmured, "Ninety-three meters, 4.3 seconds."

"Thunderbolt Mode—"

A loud shout, and the Disciple moved, his leg muscles bulging, blue tattoos flowing from light to dark, and in a blink, he closed nearly twenty meters in one step.

With just three or four steps, he was at the doorway of the emergency exit, while the target just froze in place, his eyes filled with fear and despair; he even saw his own Iron Fist reflected in their eyes.

Would it be like previous targets, where a single punch could fly a head off? No, with Thunderbolt Mode activated, it could smash a head like a watermelon.

He began to look forward to that feeling, but as his fist touched Jiang Shu's face, the familiar sensation of flesh wasn't there, his punch swung empty.

"What?" Before he could react, he had already missed the emergency exit door, his body crashing into the end wall due to inertia.

"Bang—" A loud noise, his body embedded in the wall.

"What the hell!?" He struggled to crawl out of the wall, shaking his head. The impact seemed to have damaged the balance meter in his Prosthetic Eye, making his right eye's vision whirl chaotically, unable to focus.

Meanwhile, the door to the emergency exit burst open, a camera peeked out from inside, ensuring safety, then a figure dashed out, appearing on the Disciple's right side.

"It's you!" The Disciple turned around, closed his right eye, using only the left to see, recognized the person on his right as Jiang Shu. He looked towards the spot where "Jiang Shu" had just been; there was a tablet on the floor, and now, the tablet grew arms and legs, stood up, and put its hands on its hips.

"Goodbye forever," Jiang Shu saluted him.

"What?" The Disciple didn't hear clearly, but a flashlight shone from behind him, casting his shadow on the wall beside Jiang Shu.

Jiang Shu quickly drew the small knife from his waist without saying a word and slashed across the neck of the shadow on the wall.

The head rolled off instantly, and a dark red fluid gushed out, followed by the heavy body crashing to the ground.

"Phew—," Jiang Shu exhaled deeply as three Tablet Spirits bounced around next to him.

"How... could this be?" The head on the ground slowly spoke, eyes wide with fury, "What exactly did you do...?"

"Guess," Jiang Shu smiled, watching the head roll past him.

A: Children remain.

B: Splitting Action.

C: Is this your excuse for splitting heads~

"Phew—" Watching the barrage of messages from the Tablet Spirits, Jiang Shu breathed a sigh of relief, relaxing a bit, although it was only a few simple actions, facing death like this was definitely not easy.

Slowly the head rolled into darkness before a pair of hands grabbed and lifted it.

"Gars, I'm a step too late," said the last Disciple who arrived, "to think you died by his hand."

"Be... careful," Gars uttered his last two words, his eyes gradually losing light.

The Disciple stepped out of the darkness, his footsteps drawing Jiang Shu's attention.

"More? There's more?!" Jiang Shu froze.

"I will smash you inch by inch," the Disciple gritted his teeth as a long blade extended from his arm, "I promise."

"You... where's Wolf?" Jiang Shu stared in shock at the Disciple before him, unaware of Wolf's situation, how had this Disciple appeared before him?

He quickly glanced at the position of the lights, realizing he was far from the Disciple's shadow, and the three Tablet Spirits weren't behind the Disciple to cast the shadow closer.

Damn, I'm doomed. In less than a second he can strike, and my body can't react fast enough!

"Three," the Disciple slowly began, blue patterns lighting up on his legs.

"Two," he held his comrade's head in one hand and raised the long blade with the other, pointing it at the bewildered Jiang Shu standing still.

Right, A, B, C, see what they could suggest.

Jiang Shu placed his last hope on the Tablet Spirits, turning his head towards them.

C: Disciple, lead the charge!

"..."

Are you guys insane!

"One."

As a final ultimatum, the Disciple's figure vanished on the spot and with a swift slash, the sharp blade cut through the air, emitting a crisp explosive sound.

"Mr. Jiang!" Suddenly, from the side, this cry echoed.

Before Jiang Shu could react, he watched his body being rapidly moved away from the Disciple, and appearing in his place, under the Disciple's blade was...

Gary.

He had burst out from the safety passageway, shoving Jiang Shu aside, but at the same time, he exposed himself under the blade.

The long blade swept through, smoothly severing half of Gary's body, quietly piercing the flesh.

"Lucky, I made it in time."

Gary looked at Jiang Shu, relieved.
