"What place is this."
Surveying the surroundings, it seemed like I was in a city, with a layout clearly not like China, exuding a thick atmosphere of the era, resembling an 18th-century city in Lan Ou Continent. But strangely, amidst this foreign-feeling city, Chinese characters from China could be seen everywhere, and the people walking down the street were of all ethnicities, truly a melting pot.
There were many shops on the street, such as toy stores, clothing stores, shoe shops, and even a detective agency. Unlike in China, where stores keep their doors wide open as if wanting to swallow customers whole, here the shops had only small doors, unlocked, so customers opened them themselves to enter if they needed anything. To tell what kind of store it was, you had to look at the sign on the door or the display window to see what was being sold inside.
