22. Tra(n)d(s)ision Part 2

The Villagers were happy to finally get their due. The lands getting more than it's current value from The Food Samaritan.

The Valuation was already lowered from the damages from the Eruption, so getting more was an enticing deal for them.

Sweetened by the fact that Albert was finally selling his Fields.

They felt a big burden coming off their chest.

But they didn't realise a much bigger one was about to replace it, crushing them Entirely.

As the deal was being negotiated, A soft voice slowly showed it's opposition.

"I Disagree"

"Huh"

The Villagers looked where the voice came from.

"I Oppose this Deal"

Their eyes slowly panned a little lower, looking at the Kid that was defying the Adults Decision.

"Akamu"

Albert called out to him

"What are you doing"

A confused and Concerned Albert asked Akamu, who was standing in opposition.

"I'm defending my home"

Akamu's legs and hands shook in fear, facing the Village Elders. He knew the consequences of his actions, but he felt the need to step up to defend his home.

"What do u think ur doing kid!!"

"Trying to ruin our life again are u ?"

And other unpleasant words like FREAK and CURSE were thrown at Akamu.

"I'm defending my...

OUR Home"

Akamu fought back tears coming from the unsavoury words, balling up his fists.

"AND WHO DO U THINK U ARE TO DEFEND US HUH ???"

One of the Villagers raised his voice in Anger.

"I'm...

I'M..."

Akamu hesitated. The Villagers laughed at it

"You're... YOU'RE WHATTT!!!"

"A Curse ?"

"A misfortune ?"

*The Villagers made fun of him, laughing. Albert couldn't interfere, the Villagers voice louder than his*

Akamu had enough, putting his foot forward, roaring with pride and confidence as he said

"THE STRONGEST MAN IN THE WORLD!!!"

Akamu's words went like Shockwaves, pushing away anything the Villagers could use to further hurt him. Silencing them completely.

The Officials looked, smirking.

They turned the Villagers attention to the contract, asking Albert to sign the Sale deed.

"I'm sorry Akamu"

Albert turned his back on Akamu with a heavy heart, about to sign the deed.

The Officials and the Villagers looked at Akamu.

"Looks like the Strongest man in the world isn't strong enough to stop his Grandfather"

"He's a kid afterall"

"No one's strong enough to hold the future back. Let alone change it"

*The Villagers turned their attention to Albert, who was reading the terms of the deed, about to sign it.

He brought the pen to the paper, taking one last look at Keahi Volcano and the farmlands. Closing his eyes and shedding a tear before turning his back on them too.

Akamu watched helplessly. His Homeland about to disappear in a few minutes. Becoming a piece of land owned by the Industry*

Albert was about to sign, but his hand felt heavy. Not letting him.

The Villagers began murmuring, asking if he about to rob them of this opportunity again.

Albert used his left hand to hold his right. About to force himself to sign the documents, but even that strength wasn't enough to overpower his uncertainty of the lands future.

And now coupled with his fear for the Future was a person whose part of it.

Akamu

Holding back Alberts hand, pulling it away from the Document.

"I won't let u sign itttt!!!!!"

"Let my hand go boyyy"

Albert tried pulling his hand back

"This is for your future. Our future"

Albert was making up his mind. They needed money more than an useless land.

But Akamu was seeing something more than it.

"WHAT'S A FUTURE WITHOUT A PAST!!!

WITHOUT AN IDENTITY!!!"

Akamu yelled, voicing out his opinion.

Albert and the Villagers weren't just signing away a piece of land. It was their collective past, their ancestors history.

And most importantly,

Their Identity.
