Ragako Village
A small and quiet village south of Volcano Island. The village is mostly known for the fact that a rich and powerful family lives there
A typical village of course has normal people who live normal lives enjoying a normal day. But for an ordinary village, today was anything but ordinary
Loud explosions, Rumbling, Smoke covering sky all this could be seen and heard in the forest that surrounded the village
The villagers were terrified by the strange occurrences but they were also a little curious about what was happening in the forest, of course, they weren't stupid enough to check. Rule 1 of "how to survive in a world full of ninjas"- Mind your own business-
Little do they know a battle that will determine the future of the island they called home was being fought in the forest

Kazuto and the Kiri chunin faced each other. neither of them took the initiative to attack instead they slowly observed each other, trying to find a weakness or an opening
The reveal of [Thunder fiend] was a huge surprise to the chunin, it was the first time he had seen this jutsu, as a veteran shinobi of Kiri and someone who fought in the first shinobi world war and experienced the dark age of the warring state period of the shinobi world at a young age
The man had seen a lot of jutsu over the years and fought against some people that used very unique jutsus, so he was a bit cautious when he saw kazuto using a jutsu he hadn't seen before
*Bang*
!?
Using his incredible skills the chunin moved to the right quickly and dodged Kazuto's sudden attack, he then tilted his head to the left and grabbed Kazuto's arm which originally aimed at his head
Using kazuto like a rag doll the chunin lifted Kazuto in the air and slammed him to the ground like a furious mother that found her child's report in the trash bin
Enduring the pain, Kazuto Launched another attack which cause the chunin to let him go allowing him to retreat and get some space
'Even now I don't truly have the upper hand'
Kazuto was a bit frustrated by his current situation, even with the boost given by [Thunder fiend] the chunin could still keep up with him
Kazuto obviously knows the reason for this. His main weakness at the moment is his lack of experience. It's true that chunin didn't know [Thunder fiend] but as a well-seasoned ninja he had encountered jutsus that were similar to [Thunder fiend] and from his observation, he figured out what was [Thunder fiend] and what it does
Unlike when Kazuto first used the [Thunder fiend] he knew what to expect and his experience allowed him to read Kazuto's decision-making which made predicting his attacks a simple task
Kazuto realized he had to rely on his wits in this battle
It was obvious that his opponent was a taijutsu specialist. Close combat skills and a very strong body are his greatest strength plus his experience as a ninja made him a difficult opponent, but Kazuto wasn't out of the race just yet
'He doesn't look like the type that excels in speed, so I may have a chance'
Kazuto observed the Kiri ninja that was slowly approaching him
Kazuto dashed toward the chunin with his incredible speed
'Huh'
The Kiri ninja got ready to guard against Kazuto's attack but to his surprise, Kazuto didn't attack him instead he ran around him in a circle. The speed he was running kicked up dust and created afterimages making it look like the man was surrounded by a group of kazutos
*Bam*
The only thing the man saw was a flash of blue light and a sudden pain in his jaw
*Bam*
The man felt another pain but this time in his right arm
'So we are playing 'that' type of game'
Looking at the afterimages created by Kazuto and the rising dust, the veteran ninja easily saw through what Kazuto was doing, but he couldn't do anything about it. The dust was messing with his eyes plus he didn't know who the real Kazuto was because of the afterimages
*Slice*
A cut wound appeared on the man's face once again leaking blood
'This isn't good'
The man proceeded to cover his vital points while thinking about how to escape. His tough body made it able to resist a number of attacks but Kazuto cut through that defense like butter pushing the man into a corner
Kazuto didn't ease up and launched a series of attacks. [Thunder fiend] didn't take up a lot of chakras since it was an Augmenters type jutsu but the mental and physical strain wasn't something the current kazuto could handle
*Bam*
*Bam*
"This guy, how is he still standing"
He looked at the Kiri ninja with a bit of admiration. The man endured 10 minutes of his frantic attacks without moving an inch, he just stood there showing his back and covering his face like a turtle
"This cannot go on any longer"
His breathing was a little uneasy and his movements slowed down a bit showing signs of exhaustion. Once again his plan was rendered useless, he underestimated the guy's endurance and his defense
The chunin noticed that the attacks stop and exited his shell. He wasn't in the best condition, multiple cut wounds and bruises could be seen all over his body, but this didn't have any huge effects on him, the vitality of a taijutsu expert should not be underestimated
*Puff*
Kazuto quickly grabbed some smoke bombs from his pouch and created a smoke screen blocking his opponent's sights
The chunin quickly prepared to guard against kazuto's attack but strangely nothing happened
'There!'
Like lightning striking through the clouds a blue light shone in the smoke revealing kazuto's location. The chunin wait for the perfect timing and reached out to the blue light that was approaching him
"Gotcha"
Kazuto's clawed hand was inches away from the chunin's eye unfortunately it couldn't go any further because the man was grabbing his arm
"Stop resisting, you can't break out of my grip now that I have a proper hold of you"
The veteran ninja looked at the young genin that was desperately trying to break free with zero mercy. After that beating Kazuto gave him, he was quite angry never did he expect a genin would put him in such a state and back him in a corner
He couldn't use any jutsus as he was afraid Kazuto would take the opportunity to attack and his speed caused him to receive a lot of damage. This is why speed-type ninjas are feared in the shinobi world, you can't fight something you can see or catch
Luckily Kazuto was very young and couldn't challenge him, although tanking his attacks was a pain it caused him to waste a lot of energy which slowed him down
*Crack*
"Ahh"
The scream of a young boy echoed through the forest, sadly no one was close enough to hear his cries
"That should stop you from running"
The chunin broke one of Kazuto's legs without any hesitation, he simply ignored the sound of pain emitted from the young genin's mouth
"Don't worry I'll make it quick"
Even if kazuto caused him a lot of trouble he wasn't someone that would take his frustration out on a kid
*Sigh*
Looking at the young shinobi that was still struggling despite the pain the chunin felt a bit of regret
'For such a talented ninja to die here is truly a waste'
What kazuto showed him exceeded his expectations he even had the idea to take him back to Kiri so he could become a loyal dog of the village sadly he didn't have the right to do that
After getting rid of unnecessary thoughts the man reached for a kunai to end the life of someone who had the potential to be one of the most powerful shinobi in history
Looking at the lifeless body in his hand the chunin got ready to dispose of the body and leave
Until something unexpected happened
*Puff*
The 'corpse' that he held in his arm suddenly exploded. A huge wave of lightning spread through his body effectively stunning him
"Shit"
His instincts were telling him he was in danger and he needed to move sadly he couldn't. That wave of lightning was so strong that even his body couldn't withstand the force
*Stab*
Slowly lowering his head the man saw a hand covered in blood holding a heart going through his chest
'A lightning clone'
"W-when"
After noticing his current situation he turned his head and looked at Kazuto that was standing behind him
Kazuto took out his hand without answering and watch the man slowly die
The Veteran ninja fell on his back clutching his chest, he looked up to the sky and his life flash before his eyes. Without any oxygen being sent to the brain and the loss of blood, the man died in minutes
Kazuto stood there and watch everything without a word, after a while, he deactivated [Thunder fiend] and ran in the direction Darui was

The female dodged A's attack and backed away. She was very surprised by the fact that A was able to escape her genjutsu but she was able to regain her focus before A could do any more damage
She was now in a bad position, Her genjutsu won't be very effective since A would be on guard against it. The element of surprise is one of the greatest strengths of a genjutsu expert if they no longer have that then it would be difficult to fight an opponent using only genjutsu
An illusion won't work on someone that already knows it's an illusion, the reason why the genjutsu before worked on A was that it targeted the other party's fear. Even if they know it's not real, the effects of the genjutsu will bring out the thing they hide deeply
Genjutsus like that affects the victim's emotions and willpower, it plays with their feelings showing the things they don't want to see, even if one knows it's an illusion it is hard to ignore your fears when they are right in front of you. Strong ninjas wouldn't have a problem but for a genin like A it was a shocker that he was able to break free
[Earth Release: Bottomless Swamp]

The ground under the female ninja turned into mud pulling her down, luckily she reacted in time and jumped up to avoid the attack, but to her surprise, A appeared in front of her mid-air and sent a palm strike to her chest
"*Cough* You little shit"
The chunin roared at A after being sent flying. Close combat wasn't her thing and she didn't have a lot of confrontations with those who specialized in close-range combat. As a genjutsu specialist, she usually had others to cover for her but now she was alone. The problem was she didn't think A would be this without genjutsu there isn't a lot of things she could do against him
This is the reason why ninjas don't choose to major in only one jutsu category, if one is useless then you can use the other, and even better use them together. The woman knew some ninjutsu but it wasn't the best since she dedicated her life to genjutsu
It wasn't that genjutsu was weak, but pure genjutsu isn't the right direction. The reason why the Uchihas are so powerful is that they are able to use genjutsu easily, their eyes help them greatly in taijutsu and they are natural geniuses in ninjutsu
[Wind Release: Air Bullets]
Multiple bullets were created from air fired towards A, luckily A was able to dodge them in time
'What is this feeling'
A felt every cell in his body jumping in joy, his heart was beating abnormally fast and everything seemed different. After escaping the chunin's genjutsu he felt....different
The woman tried to use another genjutsu but for some reason, it didn't affect him. He felt like a different person
No one would have thought that a chunin would struggle this much against a genin. If the woman had trained in taijutsu she would have been able to use the illusions to throw her opponents off and use the opportunities to deal fatal blows. If she trained more in ninjutsu maybe she would have been able to make her jutsu more intimidating by using illusions
She decided to use genjutsu when she saw A approaching her, but her world was broken when she saw the results
A wasn't fazed by the genjutsu and just kept running toward her
'What the hell is going on'
The woman looked at A who was walking toward her like a machine. Soon A stood in front of her, it was like a child finally confronting his mother after years of injustice
Taking out his kunai A stabbed the woman in the neck killing her
A very simple ending. The chunin didn't even resist she just accept it
The battle was won the moment he escaped her genjutsu. His opponent was a chunin, she had more experience and more chakra than him, but her ninja way was what led to her defeat
She is the type that always aims for a surprise attack and ends things quickly, unlike the swole chunin she didn't actually fight against others 1 on 1 instead she relied on her teammates. So when A escaped her genjutsu she didn't know what to do, she was unfortunate enough to encounter A who was tapping into his true potential by doing stuff he didn't normally do. Instead of helping her kill A the genjutsu that she used only opened up the gates to a monster
Genjutsu is very powerful it has huge potential and could be what decides the winner in a battle, but like every other jutsu category, genjutsu alone isn't enough to be a decent shinobi. Maybe if she improved her weaknesses and stop acting like a coward she would have defeated A who didn't have a lot of combat experience and skills with ease but that's just a theory
"Looks like you're ok"

A heard a familiar voice and saw Mabui coming out of some bushes
"Damn what happened to you"
"Not the time we need to regroup with sensei"
Mabui ignored A who asked about her current condition and start walking in the direction Darui was fighting Jin. A shrugged and silently followed her
The real battle has just begun

The crazy chunin looked at Mabui with pure killing intent
"Look at what you have done to me"
The man shouted at Mabui in anger as he looked at his body. That fire burned most of his clothes leaving him looking like a beggar, his skin had a lot of swelling and one could see the damage caused by the burns all over his body
Mabui wasn't in the mood to sit down and try to talk to this crazy man, so she quickly took out some smoke bombs to escape
Unfortunately, the chunin wasn't in the mood for games
He grabbed her by the neck and lift her up in the air, slowly increasing his grip
"I'm going to make you regret you were ever born"
The chunin was a lost cause at this point. He initially followed Mabui since she was an easy target but to get injured to this extent wasn't something he would let slide. He wanted her to suffer and feel 10x the pain she felt while being burnt
"This is why I always have a plan B"
While he was thinking about how to torture Mabui he heard her say something
"What?"
The chunin felt his grip strength getting weaker, his was getting weaker and his surroundings were getting blurry
'The poison'
After noticing the change the man thought of the only possible reason. He didn't forget about the poison but after seeing no effects he thought that it was some pepper powder
Using the man's loss in strength to her advantage, Mabui freed herself from his grip. Holding on to his arm she placed her feet on his chest and push herself away
"Here's a farewell gift"
The chunin saw Mabui take out a kunai and throw it at him mid-air. The moment he saw the kunai his entire body went cold
'Shit'
*BOOOM*
Mabui who wasn't far from the explosion was affected by it she was sent flying until she crashed into a tree
"*Coughx2*I won't be doing that again"
Mabui stood up and grabbed her side, she looked at the chunin, or what was remain after the explosion indifferently
She won a fight she wasn't confident in with her own strength, this was a great moment for her but it wasn't time to celebrate just yet. After testing for a while she walked in the direction A want to see if he needed any help
This was a difficult trial for team 11 but it was one they were able to overcome. Not only were they able to escape death but they also improved greatly, whether it was physically, mentally, or spiritually they are now completely different from what they used to be
