Dreams and Search

After she had laid her burdens to rest in the picturesque sunset, everyone could see Eli's glowing face. You could tell the difference between her previous and present smile. Eli's maid comes to Astroth and gives him her heartfelt gratitude.

"We have never seen our princess this happy before. We all knew that she could hide her emotions from a young age, but from that tragic day, she began to show us a facade.

We couldn't help her, but you brought this beautiful smile to her face. Thank you".

She began shedding tears and moved to the kitchen. Astroth could see the guard hiding his emotions behind his manly attitude while showing his contentment by engaging in chores with Eli. The elderly were happy enough to even die today.

Astroth could somehow fill the hole in his heart that he had unconsciously made in his past life by watching his family fall apart.

He could not get parental love in his past life due to his parent's divorce. Now he could experience what it means to be part of a family.

That night, the whole family celebrated. However, no one asked about the cause of the celebration. Each of them had their reason to celebrate. This was the first time in three hundred years that the elf family enjoyed their hearts' content.

----

"Come! You have the right to it. "

"Your -------".

'Huff, huff,' Astroth whimpers after waking up due to a strange dream. He was sweating profusely. His breathing was uneven, and he could feel a pain in his chest.

The pain was not physical; he felt a loss for something but couldn't remember. He ran outside to check on others.

They were engaged in their daily chores as usual; watching them, Astroth could experience a sense of relief. He fell deeply into his thoughts after coming to his room.

"What are these voices? Why are they calling me to enter the inner zone of the forest? "

"The inner forest is so dangerous that even elves never ventured inside. Those who were daring enough to scout never came back."

Astroth sat the whole day brooding with a lifeless expression on his face. He couldn't focus on either hunting or exploring. Everyone could see Astroth being absent-minded today, but they were hesitating to ask him.

Elves were bewildered because Astroth was supposed to be a kid only a month old, but his intelligence was on par with adults.

He can even perform magic without someone teaching him. Even elves with strong magic need a competent teacher to feel natural mana, and using it is an even more difficult job.

However, this child has been using magic since birth. Not only is he magical, but he can also clearly tell monsters apart without prior knowledge.

They were curious to know which race he belonged to and why did such an intelligent race leave their offspring alone?

Everyone stared at Eli, forcing her to start a conversation with Astroth; however, Eli was unclear about the topic of conversation. The maid whispered in Eli's ear that a friend must help another friend.

Eli never felt a sense of duty to a friend and was motivated to face it as a proud princess of the elf race. Others were happy that they fooled Eli into engaging in a conversation with Astroth.

"Ash, should we try another magic?"

"Ash, should we try fighting a different monster today?" Eli tried her best to ask different questions to Astroth.

Yet there was no response from Astroth, and even the response delivered was bland. Eli became frustrated and asked,

"How's food?" Astroth replied by nodding positively, with the same lifeless expression.

Eli smacked Astroth and shouted, "The hell with it! We haven't even served anything yet. You're just sitting there with an empty bowl. "

Astroth comes to his senses and tries to plastic a laugh awkwardly which he often used while living with humans in the modern world. Eli figures out his deception and becomes irritated, moreover, she gives another blow to his head.

She starts scolding Astroth about his behavior today. She even complained about how he was injured while fighting a horned rabbit than he usually kills with ease. She asked with a troubled voice.

"What could have happened if it was some monster other than a horned rabbit?"

She starts weeping while covering her face. Everyone glared at Astroth to do something about his mistake. He was troubled by this situation.

Even though he was quite a gifted author and wrote many awesome books, he never actually had a decent conversation with someone close.

He tried his hardest, but could not persuade her. Suddenly, she starts laughing, and everyone follows her.

Astroth was shocked by this situation and could not understand what was going on. Then an elder revealed that they were just messing with Astroth. Afterward, Eli says she had been angry, but after seeing Astroth's honest attempt, she is contemplating whether or not to overlook it.

Astroth starts laughing and asks the princess how he can get a pardon. Eli starts chuckling at Astroth's dignified look. After a few seconds, she says,

"My knight! You have to bring me the dandelion flower that only grows once a year in these parts. This flower keeps monsters away from your house. So, can you bring it? "

Astroth smiles softly and replies, "If that's what my princess desires."

Eli quickly leaves the room with a red face. Astroth asks the elder about the flower and its location. The elder informs Astroth that it is a flower from a faraway land that a hero brought here with him and planted here.

In the elderly person's estimation, it is a single yellow flower head that is made up of only ray flowers. It is difficult to pinpoint where it is located, but it stands out among other flowers in the forest.

Astroth realized after hearing this that the flower was the same as the one present on Earth. Does that mean the hero he speaks of is from the earth, like me? Now he was interested in this hero and asked the elder about him.

"Hohoho, the young ones always seem too curious about heroes. Well, he was a man with honor and fought for the rights of beast kin. "

"He tried to change the world, but not even a hero is omnipotent. His biggest achievement is to create the beast kingdom of Vadallat, which is a huge and strong kingdom.

We still don't know what has changed in the outside world in the last three hundred years."

Astroth was curious about the beast kingdom that the earth-born hero had created and thinks, "Should I go there to learn about my reincarnation?"

He left the beast kingdom's topic for a later time and set off to find the dandelion that the princess demanded from him.

----

The main obstacle is finding its location, which is hard to locate even for elves that have lived here for hundreds of years.

When Astroth begins his search, he starts by going through areas that he has already explored to cross-check whether the flower is in those areas.

He couldn't find the flower in those areas. He had now moved to a completely different region, but he remembered the elder's warnings not to enter the inner zone of the forest.

On the way, he took out some horned rabbits and stripped hounds with ease. He could feel the atmosphere changing as he was moving toward the inner zone. Astroth noticed something fast in the sky circling him. He couldn't see it with his naked eyes. Therefore, he tried to concentrate on mana in his eyes to focus.

The thing that was circling was a bat-like creature, but a lot more massive in size. Its claws were strong enough to hurt even big monsters. It had only one eye to focus completely on its target and big ears to hear approaching danger.

Astroth recognized this creature using [Astrith]. These are known as "palicas," and they never attack alone.

If a palica finds prey, it revolves around it and creates waves while circling. Astroth knew that their friends must be coming to have a feast, but he didn't react due to his intention to fight the group. So he stands there until they all come together.

Within seconds, around fifty Palicas were flying above Astroth's head, blocking any sunrays that might reach his way. Astroth was excited to fight a flying opponent and was even more excited to use the new magic that he was preparing for such a day.

Now the Palica's were ready to strike, but before they could do anything, Astroth yelled while casting [green fire]. This was the most complicated level 1 fire magic in existence.

It creates a fire that only kills the enemy and is especially famous for its use in forest areas. Because this fire burns the aimed target but does not react to greenery, it is most suitable for use in forests.

However, due to its complexity, not many people use it. Within seconds, Astroth burns the entire Palica, and the scenery becomes beautiful as if the fire is dancing in the sky on Astroth's orders.

He continued his search for the dandelion flower after facing an interesting opponent.
