First day as wife

The first night staying in the magnificent palace of the West family made Crystal unable to sleep, Crystal who used to sleep on a half-hard mattress and the night wind that managed to penetrate the walls of her rented house was not used to her current bed. Even though Crystal slept on a sofa bed, the bed still felt so luxurious for Crystal. Not to mention added to the pleasant aroma that wafted throughout the super large bedroom, all of which really made Crystal even more awake.

Afraid to wake the fast-sleeping Reagan up, Crystal moved very carefully as she got out of bed. Even when she walked towards the small table where she put his favorite backpack, actually there was not a single valuable item stored in the bag. There was only one old photo which was the most important item in the bag and that photo was a childhood photo of Crystal standing with her parents celebrating Christmas together, two days before that terrible night.

"Mommy," Crystal sighed softly, her thin hand fingering the beautiful photo of Paola smiling widely at the camera. "Forgive your unfilial daughter for leaving without saying goodbye, I hope Mommy can continue to watch over me from up there even though I've left Australia."

Crystal's tears fell down her pale face, again talking to her mother through her childhood photo re-opened old wounds that Crystal had tried to bury deep. All laughter, hopes and dreams were immediately snatched away from within Crystal since that night, the night where all her nightmares began.

Reagan's movement on the bed instantly made Crystal's body stiff, the first few seconds Crystal even stopped breathing. Crystal was afraid that her breath would wake Reagan out of his slumber. Convinced that Reagan was going back to sleep, Crystal hurried back into bed. In one swift motion Crystal wrapped herself in the blanket Reagan had given her and tried to sleep with her happy childhood photo still with her.

Just like the previous days when he was in Melbourne, Reagan woke up much earlier than the alarm set on his cell phone. After doing a few simple stretches Reagan slowly lifted himself up from the bed only to find Crystal sitting on the sofa bed with a straight face.

"Fuck!"

Reagan's loud scream instantly brought Crystal's consciousness back, Crystal, who had been dreaming about it for a while, immediately turned to Reagan with a confused look.

"What are you doing in my room!" shouted Reagan loudly, Reagan's memory not yet fully returned making the man speak incoherently. "Who let you into my room?!"

Crystal tilted her head, looking confused. Crystal didn't understand why Reagan was suddenly talking to her like that.

"Why are you silent? Don't tell me you're deaf or dumb, because I don't believe in such things at all!"

"You don't have memory loss, do you?" Crystal asked Reagan back innocently, Crystal didn't realize that Reagan was really angry at this time.

Reagan frowned, in the nearly thirty years he had lived, he had never once met a woman who dared to reverse the question he was asked, as did the girl who was sitting quietly on her favorite sofa bed.

"Shit.. how could I forget," Reagan grumbled to himself.

After his brain had managed to recollect bits and pieces of the events that had taken place in the last twenty-four hours, Reagan finally recognized the figure of the girl sitting across from him with wide eyes fixed on him. Damn.

"You are sick?" Crystal asked again. "Your face is pale."

Reagan snorted in annoyance. "Don't talk to me, you didn't forget what I said last night, did you?"

Crystal immediately locked her lips tightly, all the sweet words she had prepared in advance to greet Reagan when she woke up from her sleep immediately disappeared with a sigh of disappointment.

"You're just my pretend wife, so don't go overboard," Reagan reiterated.

"Sorry."

Reagan hit the bed violently, venting his frustration at Crystal's presence in his room before finally jumping off the bed and disappearing into the bathroom Crystal had used an hour ago to shower.

"It's ok..everything will be fine Crys. Everything will be fine." Crystal cast the same spell over and over again with her head down.

Even though Reagan was so rude, Crystal still felt that being with Reagan was the right choice instead of having to be in the strip club. That's why Crystal tried to ignore all of Reagan's rude attitude. What Crystal needed to do now was to carry out her role properly according to Reagan's wishes in the contract she signed earlier.

After five minutes had passed, Reagan emerged from the bathroom. The young man who has a perfect body came out of the bathroom with only a towel covering his lower body, he didn't care at all about the innocence of Crystal who was in the same room with him.

"Get ready soon, looks like my grandfather is waiting for us outside. I forgot that today Grandpa wants to take you to his personal doctor," Reagan said loudly from inside the walk-in closet.

Crystal raised her head slowly, peering carefully at the source of the sound. Crystal was afraid that if she came back she would have to see Reagan who only used a towel like a moment ago.

"You heard me, didn't you?"

"Y-yes, I heard," Crystal stammered.

"Remember what Jarvis and I have said before, be nice and don't make my grandfather and his assistant suspicious. If our charade gets exposed then you have to be prepared with all the consequences that are written in our contract," Reagan said again half threateningly. "I can be even worse than the woman who framed you."

Reminded of Rose making Crystal straighten up, the recording of how cruel Rose was that night replayed in Crystal's head. Crystal can even clearly remember how satisfied Rose was and the graceful man laughed out loud when she saw her appearance after being dressed by two of Rose's subordinates.

Crystal shook her head with trembling lips, her fear of Rose was very real.

"I want you to be able to act as well as possible in front of my grandfather and the others so that they will believe that the two of us…

"Hey, what's wrong with you?"
