Consider Moving In

Yun Shu raised her head slowly and looked at her mother-in-law. "Mom, this is..."

"This is the jade bracelet that my mother-in-law had given me when I married Qi Zheng's father." Feng Jia Li took the jade bracelet and slid it onto Yun Shu's wrist.

Seeing that the jade bracelet fit Yun Shu's hand perfectly made her smile.

"This is given to the Qi family's daughter-in-law. Now that you are married to Qi Zheng, naturally, this bracelet should be passed to you," Feng Jia Li continued.

Yun Shu stared at the pretty bracelet on her hand and quickly tried to take it off. "Mom, I can't wear this. It is too precious."

From the look at it, Yun Shu could tell that the jade bracelet should be expensive. She was only married to Qi Zheng to trick the elders. Of course, she did not think that someone like her would be worthy to wear something that was passed down to generations.

Feng Jia Li put her hand on Yun Shu's to stop her from trying to take off the bracelet. "Just wear it. Yun Shu, this is something that belongs to you."

Yun Shu felt a lump in her throat. She wanted to explain her situation, but knew that she could not do anything at this time. Swiftly, she turned to Qi Zheng, hoping that the man would be able to help her.

"Mom is right. You should just wear it," Qi Zheng spoke. He glanced at the bracelet on her slender wrist before looking away.

Hearing his words, Yun Shu decided to keep the bracelet for the time being.

Perhaps, when they go back, she could always return the bracelet to Qi Zheng.

Yun Shu turned to her mother-in-law again and smiled. "Mom, thank you."

The smile on Feng Jia Li's lips widened. She looked at the couple in front of her and thought of something. "That's right. Yun Shu, this is the first time you came to the house. Why don't you and Qi Zheng stay for the night? You don't have to worry about your clothes or toiletries," Feng Jia Li continued. "I will let the auntie prepare everything for you." She looked at Yun Shu as if trying to measure her size.

"Ah?" Yun Shu was unable to hide her surprise. She turned to Qi Zheng in panic, but the man remained calm.

"Mom, how about next time?" Qi Zheng spoke. "Yun Shu and I still have to work tomorrow. It's not convenient for us to stay here."

Feng Jia Li nodded. "That's true." She could only heave a sigh in disappointment. She had planned to chat with Yun Shu a little longer and get to know this daughter-in-law. "Then how about next time?"

Qi Zheng nodded. "Mmm... then we'll talk about it next time."

Of course, Qi Zheng had no plan to bring Yun Shu over and stay for the night.

Seeing that she did not have to stay at the residence, Yun Shu finally heaved a breath of relief.

Yun Shu stayed to chat with Feng Jia Li for a while. Then, when the time comes, she followed Qi Zheng to leave the house.

As she was seated on the passenger's side, Yun Shu took off the bracelet and slid it back into the purse. "I should give it back to you."

Qi Zheng glanced at the items in Yun Shu's hand before he continued to concentrate on his driving. "What are those?"

"The red packet from your grandfather and the bracelet from your mother."

Qi Zheng pursed his lips as he tried to think of what he wanted to do with this situation. "You should keep them. Those are the gift for you."

"It doesn't feel right. Moreover, this bracelet should be your family's treasure."

"Then, just keep them with you for a while," Qi Zheng said. "When the time comes, you can give it back to me. Otherwise, how are we going to answer if my mother asked you about it."

Yun Shu thought that his words made sense. Although she was still reluctant to keep something so valuable with her, it would be troublesome if her mother-in-law asked her about it.

"Then, this red packet..."

"Just keep it. Just consider it a gift since you are willing to help me."

Yun Shu wanted to say something, but meeting Qi Zheng's gaze, the words she wanted to say were stuck in her throat.

There was a brief silence in the car.

Yun Shu heaved in relief seeing that they had almost reached home.

"Don't forget to talk to your mother and grandmother to set up a meeting with my parents," Qi Zheng reminded her.

Yun Shu nodded. Then, she looked at Qi Zheng again, "About that... do we have to do a wedding ceremony?"

"You don't want it?"

Yun Shu pursed her lips tightly. Her marriage with Qi Zheng was just a contractual one. After a year, they were going to part ways. Yun Shu did not see any reason they should spend a lot of money on a wedding.

"You want a wedding ceremony?" Yun Shu asked him back.

"If it is something that would make the elders happy, then, why not?"

"Then, I will think about it first."

Qi Zheng nodded.

The car finally arrived in front of Yun Shu's house.

Qi Zheng alighted from the driver's side and helped Yun Shu with the door. As the girl stepped out, he recalled something important and asked, "That's right. When will you be free? You should consider moving in with me."

"Ah?" Yun Shu stared back at him in surprise. "Why would I want to consider moving in with you?"

"Have you forgotten what we did yesterday?" Qi Zheng reminded her. "Since we have a marriage certificate, we are husband and wife. Do you think that it's logical for us to live separately?"

Yun Shu shook her head. "You are right."

If she did not stay with Qi Zheng, then, their parents might suspect their relationship.

The thought of seeing everyone's disappointed faces once they figured out that everything was fake between her and Qi Zheng made her heart ache.

"You don't have to worry about it. I'm usually busy and would be spending a lot of time at the hospital," Qi Zheng said. "If it makes you uncomfortable, we can think of it as getting a new housemate."
