Working abroad is the hardest thing that you might decide to leave your family alone. Everything happens unexpectedly. Before you get through the place you wanted, filing requirements for providing passport must be presented first in the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) or you may inquire online.
Ana, the mother of a youngest child Lily, decided to work abroad. Because she knows that this opportunity will change their status in life, financially. Before she planned it, she was always there to guide her daughter, to send to school every day, to fix her hair, to accompany when she has a problem in school. But those things will be missed by her daughter Lily when she's in abroad already. Ana was still wondering if she will push the job offered by the Agency. South Korea is the place where she gets through in. It is far from the Philippines. Well, she has no choice just to leave her daughter. She'd do this for her daughter's future.
Ana is leaving because her flight is scheduled 8:00 in the morning. While her daughter starts crying,
Lily: Mom, please stay with me. Don't leave me. I can't.
Ana: Lily, be strong, I have to do this for your future because I want you to become successful someday. Don't you worry, I will always talk to you online baby girl.
Lily: But Mom, huhuhu, I feel so sad now even you're not already there how much more if you left me?
Brenda, their maid forcing Lily to get back inside the house and said,
Brenda: Lily, we can't change your Mom's decision. Let her go.
Ana is crying too, this was the hardest part of her life that she must sacrifice some important matters whether it's complicated just to give her daughter's needs. Then she arrived to airport quickly. She slept while waiting for her departure/ time arrival. There it goes; her time is readily for her to flight on. While sitting, reminiscing and asking herself,
Ana: How's my daughter? Is she okay? Eating well? Studying hard? I really miss her so much. But I got this, for her.
Then Ana has met someone inside the airplane, his name is Poulsen, an American citizen who actually has a contract to be done in South Korea.
Poulsen: Hey, you're seems like thinking of something very deeply. Do you wanna share it?
Ana: No thanks. I'm just missing my daughter, far from me now. I hope she's okay.
Poulsen: Yeah, she should. Time will come, she'll learn how to be strong, be independent, and live alone, without you. I mean, to live independently even you're far from her. She's okay. Don't be sad.
Ana: Anyways, thank you for comforting me, friend.
Poulsen: Oh, you're welcome tho. I feel you and I know how hard it is, to be far from someone who you truly care especially your daughter. But let me ask you, do you have a partner?
Ana directly said,
Ana: None.
Poulsen: Did I offend you? Oh, so sorry. I'm just being curious.
Ana: No, it's okay.
Poulsen: How come does it called family if you don't have husband?
Ana: It's none of your business, so please stop asking like you pretend that you're helping me this way?
Poulsen: Okay. I stop asking you, as of now?
Ana: Well, whatever.
Poulsen: Ana, I wanna say sorry for asking you like that a while ago.
Ana: It's not a big deal for me.
The airplane landed.
Hurry up; it's a great opportunity to start your first day here with a bang. Ana, faster, I'll help you to familiarize places here. Just trust me, I know the streets here, said Poulsen.
Ana: Okay, there we go.
Both of them stayed at Hotel Dela Verde, the hotel where they were accommodated. They tried to have a connection for them to communicate their family online. Taking pictures here, there, wherever, that's what they did first.
While having good time with Poulsen, her daughter is calling online. Lily called three times. All her calls were missed. She sadly dropped the phone on the table and howling in her room. Her mother didn't pick up the phone because there is an emergency happened in the pool. Someone got drowned and the other one was calling for a medic,
Ana: Did you hear that? We need to rescue that one.
Poulsen: But how?
Ana: Must try to get us there. Come on, we're running out of time.
Poulsen: Wait, how can you help them, Ana?
Ana: I forgot to tell you. I'm a certified nurse and well trained in Red Cross Philippines. Rescuing people is my mission.
Poulsen: You are good. Let's go then.
After that emergency, Ana checked her phone. She felt the conscience while looking at it.
Ana: I know she's crying out loud now. I missed her calls.
Poulsen: Try to call her.
But it was too late. Lily is offline 1 hour ago. So stayed at her room and took a rest 'cause energy is more needed for the following days.
The days, times go by and her Visa is getting reach its expiration. Its expiration is only three months and she has no work already. Her friend Poulsen did not finished his contract.
Ana felt something wrong with herself, physically. Some of her hairs were losing and fall until she consulted it to expert. Then the Doctor confirmed her that she has a cancer, stage 2. She doesn't even know that she has a cancer existing. The most complicated situation she has and her life is already in danger. Months have passed; her cancer is in stage 4. She has been think that there is no hope for her to live more. Her friend, Poulsen visited her in the Hospital.
Poulsen: I bought you some fruits. Taste it.
Ana: Even I eat that fruits, won't still give me remedy. It can't heal my cancer. You better to come out and stay away from me. I don't wanna be lose and leave you like what I did to my daughter. I won't let you suffer. You were spending time with someone who near to die.
Poulsen: Don't say that. I am here for you. And I don't care if what gonna happen next. I believe in God, the healer, who can only deprive the cancer you have.
Ana called her daughter on phone. She did not even think if it will surprise Lily or what. The only thing on her mind is she really miss her daughter. Lily picked up the phone then she was surprised by her Mom's case. Of course she cried, wanna hug her Mom so tightly but she can't. She's only seven years old.
Lily: I love you Mom. You'll be my Mom forever. You promised me that you will not leave me.
Ana: I love you too my baby girl. Always remember my advices. I am here to guide you always.
A day after she said sweet words for her daughter, Ana died at exactly 8:00 in the morning, same with the time when she arrived, from Philippines to South Korea. And she's buried there.
