Warmth

In the luxurious room, a cute and charming pitch black haired boy with sapphire blue eyes with a strange luster can be seen reading a book on a king size bed.

This boy was obviously Lucas. 

Lucas currently is just a day young to be called a full fledged five year old. 

It has been five years since Lucas was reincarnated. Not much happened in this small palace or room.

Lucas only noticed more and more creepy things about this place. One of them being he is not allowed to go out of this room. According to Athanasia if I go outside of this room some trouble would be chased after her and me as well.

She still has not given me a name and only calls him by some pet names. It doesn't feel creepy or something just a bit uncomfortable.

Even in this situation Lucas has convinced Athanasia a bit. Athanasia has promised him to tell everything after he becomes five years old.

Except for that she listens to everything he asks for from food to clothing. Lucas has asked books to read and from the day he started reading and writing he has read the books.

The information he has gotten is actually pretty simple. This world has a weird history. 

According to the books this world is called Orion. When life in this world slowly started to evolve. This world somehow or the other tried to spread his consciousness further than the world. Even though this concept of spreading consciousness is not explained in the book the result of this seemingly unusual experiment is explained.

This experiment resulted in the creation of what people called mana. A mystical energy which caused the life of this world to evolve abruptly and drastically. The life who gained intelligence tried to find out the hidden truth and potential of the mana and they were shocked by the results.

This Mana is something which connects the consciousness of the world with its inhabitants. Though it can be used for many other tasks.

After countless millennium years, the use of mana has gotten way more efficient and effective with new theories and concepts. They call it magic. Magic is again further divided but let's not go too much in depth.

' Let's talk about this world….' Lucas thought.

Orion, this world has around 7 continents which are mostly occupied. Except for these continents there might be hundreds of islands and what not. New islands keep emerging.

According to Athanasia this is the smallest continent of the other 7 continents. Garuda continent, the story she told him as a was also the story from this continent.

Even though revolutions and some stuck up nobles still try to wage the war, this whole continent is United under the name of Holy Silvia Empire. Even though this continent might be the smallest continent this is still the size of the whole Asia continent from Lucas's past world.

Lucas was reading a book regarding the basics of magic when the door to the room was opened. Obviously it was Athanasia.

Lucas closed the book and went running towards Athanasia with a bright smile. He was happy to see his mother.

Athanasia caught Lucas in her hands and picked him up hugging. She also had a warm smile on her face when she saw her baby.

" You didn't sleep ?" Athanasia asked as it was already past bedtime for Lucas.

" No, I was not able to sleep as I was too excited for tomorrow." Lucas said with a happy smile burrowing his face in Athanasias neck.

" You know right, what is tomorrow ?" Lucas asked while looking at Athanasia with worried eyes as if she might have forgotten. 

Athanasia seeing this reaction on her son decided to tease her son a little :-

" Hmm~, what might be tomorrow ?" She said looking at Lucas with a mischievous smile but soon the smile vanished from her face when she saw Lucas tearing up a bit.

" Y-you forgot…." Lucas said, trying his best to hold back his tears.

" N-no, my son I know tomorrow is your birthday. How could I forget my dear son's birthday." She hugged Lucas tightly.

" Hehehee….." she suddenly heard a mischievous chuckle. When she looked at Lucas he was carrying a mischievous smile on his face.

" You little…." Athanasia said with a smile as she was happy that her son was only acting and was not sad. Lucas knew that Athanasia would never forgive herself if she made him, her son cry.

But Athanasia still decided to punish her son for his prank. She lay him down on the bed and started tickling him. Lucas laughed without any restraints.

" Hahahaha….."

Suddenly after a few seconds Lucas felt a drop of water falling on his face. When he looked up towards his mother he noticed that even though she was smiling tears were subconsciously flowing through her eyes.

Lucas stopped laughing, he got up and rubbed the tears off Athanasias face. After doing so he hugged her tightly saying :-

" Everything will be fine mom….." 

Lucas didn't know but sometimes his mother Athanasia subconsciously starts crying. He had asked her several times what the reason was but she always avoided the topic saying it was tears of happiness. After sometime he gave up on asking as he knew that someday or the other this mystery will also be solved. He simply used to hug his mother for emotional support. 

Athanasia also knew that her son was very thoughtful regarding her. Usually any child won't stop until its curiosity is satisfied but Lucas always followed her every word and never broke any rules she had set for him. Maybe because she had told him that she would definitely tell him and he has to wait just for the right time.

' I guess the time has finally come to tell you the truth my dear son. I don't know if you will be able to handle the truth but accepting the truth is your duty and telling the truth is my duty. I don't want to imprison you. You were just so precious to me that I forgot you have your own life but the time has come. I want to enjoy this night together with you because from tomorrow…..' She didn't dare to complete her thought and simply enjoyed the small amount of warmth given to her by her son. This warmth was enough to forget some wounds but not enough to heal them.
