48. Twin

Tanya's POV

I'm shoved behind him as we come face to face with his twin. I stayed still while I fought with the curiosity to peek over his shoulder. His left hand was stationed at my waist, keeping me pinned.

"Who's behind you?" Her feminine voice inquired.

"A friend," he answered cooly while my eyes were gazing at his back.

"Then why are you keeping her behind you?" She interrogated. "Because I can see she's a female."

"None of your business," he responded.

"It is because I'm your twin," she chastised and walked forward, prompting Dante and me to move back. "I'm trying to pin her scent, however, it's confusing."

"How?" Dante inquired.

"She smells familiar," she enlightened. "But she doesn't smell like a wolf."

"Now you are done with your analysis, can you be on your way?" He suggested, his posture tensed.

"Since when are you scared of me?" I heed suspicion in her tone. "Who is that?"
