86. Hesitant

Tanya's POV

"How was it?" I asked, leaning back on the couch, already full from the sumptuous breakfast.

"It was delicious, thank you," Nathan answered resting the utensils beside his empty plate as Nelly was getting hers cleaned up from any drop of food left.

"I loved it," Nelly grinned, satisfied as she proceeded to grab her half-empty glass of orange juice. "Did you cook?"

"Don't," I let out as I observed Nathan shoot out his elbow to nudge her. "She has the right to ask."

"Sorry, Luna." He bowed his head in embarrassment hence I caught him. "I just thought the question was inappropriate."

"It's fine," I assured with a smile while I pondered on the reason for their fears. It appeared they were hesitant to speak and whenever they did they were extra careful as if they would be scolded.
