120. Blood

Tanya's POV

My fingers halted their tapping on the keys as my breath stilled. I contemplated if maybe I had heard wrong as my eyes narrowed and I cocked my head to the side, an eyebrow lifting in thought as I willed my heartbeat which had picked up to return to normal.

"Eeeek!" The scream came out more louder and clearer some seconds later, causing my blood to run cold as my fingers began to shake.

"Nelly," I murmured, the single word coated with fear as bile rose to my throat. That was Nelly's voice and the curiosity together with the fright to find out the cause of her scream had me withdrawing my fingers and stretching to my feet.

My heart pounded, my throat going dry as I hastily shut the MacBook, pushed my seat backward and threw my feet which were in my comfortable crocs forward. A second later I was yanking the door of the library open as my blank painted fingers wrapped around the handle.
