Chapter 72 The Mission

Amos also frowned slightly.

"I can offer you a thought that might help you somewhat.

Earlier, I met a silver dragon who came after me, and she fought me, but of course, I was the final victor.

She impressed me, however, because of the spell she used, which was very powerful.

The ball of frost that came out of her mouth was even about five feet in diameter, and with a single strike, it could cover a hundred metres around with a layer of frost, dropping the temperature by 20 to 30 degrees, and an ordinary person would be turned into an ice sculpture straight away if hit.

Even a 2 ring cold ray, in her hands, was equally powerful, and with a continuous spurt, it was actually able to temporarily freeze me, quickly condensing a layer of ice nearly two feet thick on my body!

This was something that no ordinary cold ray or ball of frost could ever do! Yet in it, I felt the properties of a dragon's breath."

The dragon said again.

"You mean, that silver dragon, made a combination of its own dragon's breath with these two spells?

Using the dragon's unique magical organ as a source of spells to cast spells?" Amos' eyes lit up.

"This ... is a genius conception!" The spell caster next to him exclaimed.

"It's possible, but not guaranteed to be absolute, it's sort of offered as an idea to you.

Exactly how to enhance the power of these two spells is up to you! After all, you are talented spellcasters who have accepted my employment, aren't you? It's up to you to decide how much commission you'll get this time."

Rand opened his dragon's mouth with an odd smile.

"Of course, I will do my best to complete your mission, but before I do, please accept one small request from me."

Amos paused to see that the dragon did not object, before saying.

"I have read many books before about the structure of the dragon's body, the dragon's ability to spew dragon breath, some say it relies on the dragon's respiratory tract, some say it relies on the dragon's stomach, and others say it is vomited out of the dragon's oesophagus.

There is a lot of uncertainty in this.

In the interests of a smoother refinement of this spell, Lord Rand, could you grow your mouth so we can see how you vomit up close?"

The spellcasters around them were stunned by Amos' words.

They knew very well that no creature would want their body to interest the caster.

It was not the same as arousing the interest of the opposite sex; in the eyes of some fey creatures, spellcasters were an extremely hateful bunch of bastards who would desecrate their bodies.

Many spellcasters have long coveted the bodies of dragons, studying them and writing books on them, the structure of their bodies and so on.

They were treated like mice!

To a proud dragon, this is a huge humiliation.

How dare you show it to his face and ask him about it? Are you sure you are not here to seek death?

The most important thing is that this dragon had just killed 20 of their accomplices ...

Although it had nothing to do with them, this fierce power was really terrifying.

They looked at Amos with both admiration and pity.

Snort~

Rand snorted, and his complexion gloomed for a moment.

At his chest and abdomen, the red aura flashed several times faster, and the air temperature rose several degrees, making people unconsciously a little hot.

He realised that the human before him had more guts than he had expected!

The atmosphere around him was very silent at the moment as Rand stared deeply at Yakus.

"Human! You! You have the audacity to make such a request of me!"

The dragon growled low, his voice extremely low and sombre.

Clearly he was slightly displeased.

"This is only to better the task, to research and modify the spells you need, Lord Rand, and if you do not wish to, it does not matter, but the research will just be slower in comparison."

Yakus apologised with a slight bow.

He didn't seem the least bit of a fool who didn't know how to back down.

This made Rand's anger lessen by one point.

"Good, you sure are confident."

Giving the young mage a deep look, Rand then silently slumped to the ground.

As long as this human, named Yakus, was a genius spellcaster, he didn't mind forgiving his opponent's small rudeness.

Genius, in any case, had so many privileges, but if not?

Then Rand wouldn't mind inviting him to enjoy the passion of colliding with the earth after a fall in 400 yards per hour!

The large crimson eyes scanned everyone: "You!

"You guys! Come here and look at me carefully.

This is one of the most important materials for your future research!

Look at it carefully, so that when you can't study anything, you won't know why when you travel to the abyss."

The threatening words sent chills down the spell casters' spines.

But more than that, they were angry.

What did this evil dragon take them for? A cricket to be beaten and crushed at will?

Some of them were angry, but when they thought of what they had just seen, and the two holes at least two to three metres deep and the cracks tens of metres long that they had accidentally glimpsed, they immediately gave up again.

They could only go to the dragon's hideous, rough head, as requested, ignoring his hot, red eyes and focusing on the dragon's mouth.

The fierce fangs, the bright red tongue, a foul smell slowly wafting out of its mouth, made people cringe.

Still, they didn't back away, just held their breath and watched carefully everything inside the dragon's mouth.

Amos stood in front of the dragon's head, which was about to be bigger than his entire body, and made a few strange gestures, after which a tiny eyeball derived from the void and floated towards Rand's mouth.

"What is this?"

Rand, noticing the anomaly, glanced at it and asked.

"Lord Dragon, this is a little trick I developed earlier called the Sight Sphere, I can link its field of vision to mine, which helps me to better observe your mouth organs and the changes in the moment of dragon flame generation." Amos explained.

"An unheard of spell, if indeed you developed it, that's some power!

But you don't seem to have much of a ring to your name, and those few spellcasters don't look very respectful to you, which is a bit puzzling to me."

"I was born magically depleted, only level 1 for life, and have only been working on level 0 tricks that help me, so naturally those advanced spellcasters have no feelings for me."

Amos explained.

"When you put it like that, it gives me a lot of confidence in you."

Rand said, and by this time the ball of sight had flown into his mouth.

The other spell casters saw this and cast spells or used props so they could get a better look at the fetching material.

The gargoyle was terrifying though! But it seemed that the consequences of failing to complete the task would be even more dire!

The same temptation of 200 gintals was enough to make one forget one's fear!
