Chapter 10 part 2

'That's right,' said Mr. Security guard in his heart. Is there anyone who realizes and remembers where they went in such conditions?

The security guard exhaled, then nodded in understanding. They then resumed their search with the help of flashlights. Arthur tried hard to distract the security guard so as not to shine his flashlight on the bushes where he and Alice had been hiding.

As his eyes swept across the bushes, the smile on his lips slowly faded, replaced by a look of tension on his face from the shock of finding Alice holding her breath with a deathly pale face.

Arthur was still staring at Alice who now seemed to be squeezing the hem of the navy blue pajama she was wearing. Seeing Alice who looked panicked and scared somehow made Arthur feel like protecting the girl. As if danger approached the girl then she would be the one to blame for not being able to take care of Alice.

The man gave Alice a warm gaze. Through the twinkling of his eyes, he hoped that Alice would know that they would be fine and not be caught. Arthur asked Alice to go back into hiding until the security guard left using a signal from his hand. Alice nodded and did as Arthur was told.

Suddenly Mr. Security guard directed his flashlight to highlight the bushes that were near Alice's current position. Panic suddenly gnawed at Arthur's feelings. The man gulped his saliva while thinking of a way to trick the security guard.

"It looks like cellphoneyourRight , you got up from the bushes over there," said Mr. Security guard.

The middle-aged man in the black uniform kept his eyes on the bushes where Alice was hiding while walking towards it. His eyes searched around, especially the ground for Arthur's cell phone that might have fallen around there.

Arthur's heart skipped a beat when he saw the steps of Mr. Security guard getting closer to Alice's hiding place. He had promised himself that he wouldn't let Alice get caught. However, if he suddenly forbade Mr. Security guard and could not give a logical reason, Mr. Security would surely be more suspicious of him.

Arthur closed his eyes, trying to rack his brains to find a way not to be caught by Alice. When he opened his eyes, he saw something that made an idea pop into his head. The man then ran quickly to the security guard and stopped the security guard.

"Sir! Sir!" Arthur exclaimed breathlessly.

"Why?" asked Mr. Security guard while frowning because Arthur suddenly blocked his steps.

"That... Em... That...."

"What's that?"

"That...."
