chapter 5

Rebecca's POV

"So...was I there? In the garden I mean?" she asked.

I narrated everything to her as quickly as I could, stressing some parts so she could understand why I'm against them being together.

"I heard your voice, but I didn't see you in person. So I don't if you got hurt or not" I say to her

"Then we actually got married and had a kid right?... So why are you still against us getting married?" she asked

"Because there may be a really bad situation ahead of you that he can't save you from and it might lead to you getting hurt or worse!" I said straining my voice to prevent it from getting higher and attract Thomas to where we were

"Besides, just because you're married in the vision doesn't mean he's actually meant for you. What if it's saying the opposite?" I reasoned

"I don't care actually... Whatever it may be, we will face it together. And I don't think Thomas is the type of person that would abandon me in time of crisis" she said standing from the couch, showing that she was done with the conversation.

"He just did that! In my vision! Do want to wait till it's proven physically before you believe me!?"

"Well yeah… I trust him and it's like you said no one knows exactly what the vision is saying, we just have to take a leap to find out" She said abd walked to the door

"Sarah, why won't you listen to me!? He's not good for you! There has to be a reason I saw that in the vision. It may not happen exactly that way, but it will happen!" I said raising my voice

"And I just told you, I don't care! I love Thomas onay!? A lot of things feel so different with him and I don't want to loose that. I know you're worried about me but I'll be fine. Whatever is going to happen can happen, I know we can get through it together. But right now, I will get married to him and that's it!"

"Sarah stop this please… I didn't even get to see your kid in the vision! What if it's the kid that gets hurt!?"

"And I just said I don't care! No matter the excuse you have Becca, I won't agree to it because I'm not afraid abd I. Don't. Care!" she shouted

"What's going on?" Thomas rushed in and looked at us, worried

"It's none of your business" I said folding my hands and looking away

"Oh but it is! As you already know, my sister here has a gift of seeing things that are "likely" to happen" she started

"Sarah!"

"Likely to happen? She should know better about them being real or not!"

"I'm not done yet!" She snapped at me

"As I was saying, my sister had a dream…"

"A vision" I clarified

"Vision, whatever. So in that dream or whatever, she claims that something bad might happen and you won't be able to help me or our child"

"Our child!?" Thomas asked confused

"Yeah Tom, we were married!" Sarah said smiling

"Wow! But that's a good thing right?" He said with a little frown in his face

"Seriously?!... You haven't even heard the whole story yet" I rolled my eyes as I thought

"Ri..ght!? But, miss vision here says it's a sign we shouldn't get married" she concluded clapping once for dramatic effect

"Um, what really happened? Cause if we are married in the vision then I'm pretty sure that means we are meant to be together" Thomas said smiling

"Same thing I said!" sarah said excited that Thomas was on her side

"Don't you even want to let him hear the whole story before concluding? He seems like a responsible guy so I'm sure he'll know the right thing to do after that" I said to her and she scowled

"Sure let's he–"

"No!" She cut him off and we both stared at her confused "I'm the one affected anyway so I should decide if he should hear it or not. And he shouldn't" Sarah said

I looked at Thomas and he shrugged.

"Then we have to call a meeting" I said

*What? We can't call a meeting over something so trival" Sarah said

Ha! She's scared because she knows her mum won't let her. Aunty Rose didn't like Thomas right from the moment she met him and knew they were dating

"I don't care...besides getting married is not child's play, you guys might live and grow old together. So we must tell our parents and listen to what they have to say first" I said

I took my phone from the wooden table and dialed my aunty—since she's the one that it concerns the most.

"Hello?"

"Hi aunty rose... How're you doing today?"

"I'm good. And how are you doing dear?"

"I'm fine thank you for asking"

"Can you please get straight to the point!?" Sarah whisper shouted and I smirked

She's nervous…

"Is sarah there? She told me she would drop by your house later today"

"Yes ma'am. Actually she has been here for a while now and also the reason why I called"

"Oh!? Is there a problem?"

"Not really, we just had an argument and decided to call a meeting to make the final decision"

" Is it very serious? Because your fathers would hate to leave the house for something as little as the right colour for the wedding hall…" she said in a warning tone

"Yes aunty I know, we haven't started picking colours yet... And this is way more important than that"

"If you say so…. I'll call the others and tell them it's an emergency"

"Okay aunty thank you very much" I smiled triumphantly

"We will meet you at our house soon"

"Got it! Bye aunty!" And I hung up

"Let's go.. your mum said the meeting will be at your house" I picked up my keys and shooed her and Thomas out to the front door

"Urrggh!" Sarah huffed as she sat in the backseat with Thomas.

We are all here now and aunt Rose prepared the meeting outside the house—close to her garden—since it's summer and inside the house may be a little too hot for us to stay. Mum and Dad are seated closet to her garden followed by Aunt Rose and her husband, Robin. While the rest of us, are seated individually in front of the parents.

I have told everyone the dream now—Thomas included— and everyone is silently absorbing the message and thinking on a lasting solution.

Well they are thinking. I already made my decision a while ago and it seems like Sarah has too with the way she's staring at the floor with determination on her face. Like she's ready to fight whoever brings a view that contrary to hers.

"This is actually a serious matter" Uncle Robin spoke first

"Yeah...We might need a few minutes alone kids... We need to really talk about this" Mum spoke next

"Sure" I said abd stood up while pulling sarah along—and Thomas followed— and moved to the patio.

"I'm scared Tom" Sarah said as soon as we sat on the white bench

"I don't want to loose you over some silly dream" She held hands with Thomas

"That's what they all say… silly dream" I thought with a frown and a heavy heart

"And you won't. We just need to allow your parents to think it over and tell us their decision. Also, I'm sure they'll give us an opportunity to speak our minds on the matter too" Thomas said reassuring her

"I don't know Tom...I just don't have a good feeling about this" Sarah said

"Don't worry, everything will be fine. Your sister is doing this for you. There's no way the Rebecca I know will purposely slander someone or try to prevent your happiness, so let's just pray and hope that your parents with come to the decision that we both want. Okay?" Thomas said and she nodded. He drew closer to her on the seat and placed her head on his chest then began patting her hair.

Looking away from them and outside the patio, I see different coloured flowers scattered all over... It looked so beautiful and peaceful that it made me wonder if I was doing the right thing by calling this meeting. They just seem so happy together that I felt a bit guilty about telling her mum about the dream. But on another hand, I'm doing this because I care a lot about her, she's the only "sibling" I have and I don't want her to get hurt in anyway.

Sigh!

Fir some reason, I'm beginning to hope that our parents permits them to get married.

Few minutes later

"Hey you guys, you can come over now…" Mum said waving at us.

We went back and sat on the same seats from before.

"So, before we make the final decision we have a few questions for you Rebecca and I want you to answer truthfully. Can you do that for us?" my dad asked

"Um…sure" I answered, feeling a bit nervous.

"First question; were they truly married in the vision?" He asked

"Yes" I say confidently. Though I didn't see a ring on his finger, I'm sure they were married because that house wasn't Sarah's apartment and the nursery looked like it was under renovation meaning their kid was already few years older

"Okay. Next question; did you see what happened to the child or Sarah in the vision?"

"No…. But the house was scattered like there was a fight and Thomas was bleeding on the side of his head. Though I didn't see any child so I don't know what happened to him or her and when I was about to meet dream Sarah, real Sarah woke me up" I said truthfully

"Okay… So that means something really happened but you don't know the extent at which happened right?" Uncle Robin was the one asking this time

"That's correct sir.."

"Then I don't think there's a reason they can't cmget married" he said smiling

"He's right. Since there was no known casualty to Sarah and her child, I think they can get married" Dad concluded

"Yes!" Sarah said jumping up. She ran and hugged Thomas tightly and screamed with joy

I felt relived and genuinely happy for them.

"Is that ok with you though?" my mum asked

I looked around to see who she was referring too, only to notice everyone staring in my direction.

"What!? Yea….I'm game as long as she's happy and they both stay cautious too" I said smiling at Sarah

"Oh thank you so much sis" she said as she came close me and held my hands.

"I love you so much you know that right?" she said as we stared at each other

"Yea… and I love you too" I responded

"Umm… I'm very sure about that now" she said and winked

We all laughed. She went to her mum and hugged her.

"That being said, Love remember we have cake testing today" Thomas said looking up from his phone

"Oh no! Mum go on, get dressed. we can't leave without our chief chef here" she said pulling aunty Rose from her spot

"I agree"

"So true"

'"you're right"

Everyone said almost the same time. It's a known fact that aunty Rose's cooking is superb...I know most people say their mum's cooking is the best, but saying that for my mum will just be to make her feel good. Even she knows it…

I watched aunty come out with a lace jacket and a scarf complementing the jean skirt and polo she had on before

"We should be leaving too dear" my mum said picking up her bag and holding hands with my dad. I packed up my things and followed them out.

"Ok then let's all go together" Aunty said

As we all walked together towards the driveway, mum apporoched me

"I'm very proud of you honey" she said

"Um.. thank you?" I answered confused

She laughed.

"you were able to let go when you saw things weren't going the way you thought it should. You tried your best too, especially by calling the meeting because you knew the huge impact it might have on your cousin in future and didn't want her to face those consequences if it could be avoided. But you also agreed to step back when you noticed they didn't mind. So, I'm proud of you" she concluded and patted my hair making me blush

I felt proud of myself too for not insisting on them not getting married. Sarah seemed so happy with Thomas and I'm very sure I would have lived in regret if the outcome of today was the
