THIRD POV
The cold air hit her skin but she did not even flinch. Her mind was somewhere else.
She did not understand how her life had turned out to be such a mess. She had done everything right and still, nothing went her way.
She had found an amazing family that loved her but it seemed that on every door that she knocked trouble decided to stay they.
She had thought that it was going to be a beautiful marriage when she decided to marry Vincenzo. Not because he had loved her or anything but she had realized it was because she was stupid.
The little girl in her still believed that fairytales existed when they didn't. Vincenzo would never see her the way that she wanted him to see her and there was nothing that she would do about it.
She had always wanted to be a mother. She never really had a mother growing up and wanted to have a kid so that they would feel the love that she never felt.
To have someone who supported them no matter what they did and now she was going to watch another woman carry the child of her husband.
It was then that she realized that Vincenzo did not feel anything for her at all. The sex that they had was just two people who were drunk and horny.
Dylan was seating beside her and had not said anything to her for the one hour that they had been there.
He just looked at the falls that were in front of him as he let go of everything else that was troubling him. He wanted to ask her what was wrong but he figured that all she wanted was peace of mind, not someone asking them questions.
"This place seems nice how did you know about it?", asked Ana as she broke the silence between them.
"My sister used to bring me here all the time and I just loved it so I just kept coming here every time I felt like everything was too much", said Dylan with sadness in his voice.
They had both things that were troubling them and none of them wanted to talk about it. Maybe it was better that way to not know what was wrong with the other person.
"Are you feeling okay now?", Dylan asked her as he glanced at his watch.
It was starting to get dark and he didn't t want to be the person who was with someone else's wife till late.
"Yeah am good now", said Ana as she smiled.
"Okay then I think it's time we take our leave I don't want Vincenzo to kill me", said Dylan chuckling as he stood up.
"Don't worry about it he doesn't care", said Ana as she chuckled nervously.
Dylan did not push it or ask her if they were having trouble at home. His life was already complicated he did not want to be caught in the middle of other people's marriages.
He had been shocked when Vincenzo introduced Ana as his wife at the party. He had never known Vincenzo to be someone who fancied long-term relationships.
He knew that he loved her because after all the years that he had seen Vincenzo with multiple women he never remembered him ever being so protective over someone before.
The way that he had looked at Ana was not something that Dylan had ever seen before and he knew if he even touched Ana's fingers he would be dead.
"Will you drop me at the house?" Ana asked Dylan as he started the car.
"Yeah sure no problem", Dylan said as he started driving.
At that moment Ana did not care if Vincenzo was going to be mad if he saw her with Dylan. Why would he be mad though?
He did not care about her and he had made sure she knew that. He had impregnated another woman without think g if how it would affect Ana.
It wasn't even about him choosing someone else that bothered her. He made sure that at the party people knew they were married.
She had seen pictures of them together that the paparazzi had taken and people were starting to wonder who she was.
The embarrassment that she would have to face when people would find out that she was his wife was not something she had prepared herself for.
"Are you sure you're okay?", Dylan asked her. He had been looking at her and she still seemed like she was troubled. Not even going to the fall was going to take her fears away.
"Yeah is fine", she said as she offered him a simple smile.
She didn't understand why she had thought that she would be able to manage a life with Vincenzo. So far it had been nothing but heartbreak and she didn't know if she could take it anymore.
Then again it's not like she had any other option. She had to do what was supposed to be done to save the lives of the people that she loved.
Vincenzo did not care about any of them. It didn't matter if they died or survived because he didn't know them and she would be the one who would be left with the guilt not him.
Maybe not everyone has the right to have choices.
"We're here", said Dylan as he stopped the car in front of the gate.
"Thank you, I better go now", Ana said as she opened the door and left.
She could feel eyes on herself and when she looked up there he was staring at her like she was his next meal.
Vincenzo looked at Ana as she made her way inside the compound and she didn't even glance at him.
Ana entered the house and immediately Vincenzo was standing in front of her with prying eyes wanting to know who had brought her home.
Like every other day, she had always been happy to see her but the expressions on her face were not the ones that he was used to. There was an emptiness behind those eyes as she stared at him and without a second glance, she went to her room.
