FALL APART

THIRD POV.

EARLIER THAT DAY.

As he stood up from his chair he looked disheveled. His shoulders slumped in defeat, he looked tired.

He hadn't gotten any sleep as he had stayed up all night hoping that Anna would walk through the door but there had been no sight of her.

He looked at his watch and it was already five o'clock and he needed to be out before seven.

He had important work to do but before he left he wanted to talk to her and tell her what had happened.

He would be gone for a week and by the time he would be back maybe things would have gotten worse than they were.

He didn't know how bad things were he just hoped that she would find it in her to forgive him.

As he finished packing his suitcase he heard the front door opening and for the first time in his life, his heart started beating fast due to fear.

He couldn't understand why he was scared when she was just small and couldn't hurt him.

What he didn't know was that the part of his heart that had gotten accustomed to her was scared of the outcome.

He was used to business deals going sideways but this one was different. He was putting his heart on the line without even knowing it and she either had the chance to forgive him or shatter his heart completely.

He looked at himself in the mirror one last time and went to her room.

The moment he looked at her he could feel right rising in him.

He wanted to ask her whose clothes she was wearing but that was not what he had gone there to ask or talk about.

Anna could feel his presence in the room but she didn't turn to acknowledge him. Her heart was beating fast and she knew that she was scared.

The conversation was going to go either two ways One way was that he could be able to convince her to forgive him and the other was that she could t forgive him.

Either way what her choice was going to be she was still going to hurt. If she forgave him every time she looked at him all she could remember was the hurt he caused.

Yeah, hurt that she had not deserved it in the first place she didn't understand why life had to hurt that bad.

"Can I talk to you ?", he asked her as he walked around so that he could see her face and the sight of it broke his heart.

Her eyes were puffed and he could tell that she had spent most of the night crying. He wanted to tell her that he was sorry for hurting her like that but telling her sorry wasn't going to heal all that he had broken.

He lifted his hand to touch her face but she flinched the moment his hand came into contact with her cheek.

She could see the pain across his features as he pulled away.

As she looked at him like that she wondered if he very knew that he had hurt her so much that the sight of him just reminded him of all the bad things he had done.

That when she looked at him her brain couldn't stop replaying Brianna telling her that she was pregnant. She remembered the smirk on her face and without knowing it she slapped him.

He didn't even flinch he just stood there and waited for her to slap him again.

Tears were burning her eyes and the more she tried to stop them they just flowed down her face with no control.

Without knowing it he grabbed her in his arms and just let her cry.

She wanted to pull away so bad but she still felt in his arms. The arms of the man who was the reason that she was crying.

"Am sorry ", he muttered as he kissed her forehead, and for some reason that made her cry even more.

She had thought that maybe if he had apologized to her that maybe she could stop hurting. It had only gotten worse because she was pissed at herself.

She was pissed about the fact that he had that much control over her. She was a mess in front of him and there was nothing that she could do about it.

She had one question that was going to determine how they were going to move forward and yet she was scared to ask it.

"Did it happen after we were together or before that ?", she asked him.

She watched as his face dropped and her heart sunk to her stomach. She got out of his touch and wiped her tears.

"Okay, you can go now ", she said as she pointed at the door.

"Not until after we talk ", he said as he tried to get a hold of her but she moved away from him.

"There's nothing that we have to talk about. Another woman is carrying your child. It's not even about the cheating that bothers me. Am your wife and somehow your mistress is pregnant with your baby ", she said looking pissed as her voice rose.

"I am not even sure that baby is mine ", he said as he rubbed his neck.

"What do you mean that you aren't sure, you had sex with her and nutted in her but somehow you think that kid isn't yours? Are you even hearing yourself right now ?", she asked looking at him like he was crazy.

"Am not saying I didn't have sex with her, I did but I've never slept with anyone without using protection. I was drunk but I would have still remembered to use protection ", he said looking at her hoping that he still didn't sound crazy.

"Am not scared of the responsibility of being a father I want to be a father so bad but am not sure this is my kid ", he said hoping that she was getting what he was saying.

All she was focused on was the fact that he always wanted to be a father and somehow for some reason, his first kid was going to be from some hoe he screwed because he was drunk.
