Chisaka Hisaki and Saeki Heisuke only met each other in the latter half of their lives. Deep scars wounded their hearts yet, they found comfort and healing in each other.

First, she had to run away from the abusive man her grandfather forced her to marry for money.

Second, she had to search for her old man.

And the most important thing! She had to prevent her old man from being imprisoned!

The younger Heisuke almost accidentally killed someone due to his thirst for revenge. Despite escaping death row, he still suffered a decade in prison.

After her initial plan succeeded, she finally met him!

The quiet young man was really him. Even though he didn't show it to anyone, she knew how soft and colorful his heart was; as soft as cotton candy, as colorful as the balls of yarns. 

Heisuke eyed the new girl in town with suspicions but, his heart felt strange. It went doki-doki.

Could anyone tell him, why this girl's eyes twinkled like the stars whenever they saw each other?

For Our Happier Path

"Oh? You really did that? Awesome! Mom! You did so great!"

Back in the apartment, Hisaki was happily rolling on the floor. She pressed the cell phone against her ear while she was animatedly talking to her mother again. Both of her legs moved up and down, showing how giddy she was right now.

A few minutes ago, Hisaki got a return call from Mrs. Chisaka. She quickly answered it and asked about the outcome. It was all that she had expected. Hisaki was so excited because her mother had done what she had advised her to.

"Well... your Aunt Akane and Mika got escorted away by the police. Because the neighbors testified against them, they couldn't feign innocence."

Mrs. Chisaka's tone was as soft as ever yet, Hisaki could discern the pleasant feeling coming from her mother's voice. It was so obvious how fulfilling her mother was feeling right now.
