Chapter Forty Three

Mercy continued with her life and was still seeing Felix. Now that her father was around, it was getting increasingly difficult hiding the relationship from him. Mr. Eze himself had been hearing some things from the grape vine but hadn't given credence to them because he knew Mercy his child to be a very moral girl who had been passing on the right values and behaviour to her siblings. So it came as a shock when one day he came back home to find Mercy who was about eighteen years of age standing and discussing with a young man he was sure he had not met before.

'Godevening sir', the young man greeted.

'Goodevening sir' Mercy said simultanously with Felix because they had been shocked to see him. They hadn't known he had come back. So absorbed had they been in their discussion that they hadn't heard him come in.

'Goodevening how are you?'

'fine sir', Felix said.

' Who are you, young man? I don't think that I have met you before', Mr Eze said
